Kalispell City Council
Let’s be civil.
The Flathead Beacon encourages vigorous discussion and lively debate, but we will delete comments that attack other readers, make accusations we can’t verify, stray too far off topic, criticize local businesses (call them if you have a problem), convict someone of a crime, use profanity or are simply judged to be in bad taste. Well, while the council is at it why don’t they throw in a no talking/texting on cellphones while driving law as well.  If it weren’t for the “noise” from my motorcycle, I would have been pasted by a couple of people too busy texting and talking on their cellphones.

Here’s an idea, why don’t they focus on finding ways to improve the local economy instead of being little busy bees and looking for more useless ways to penalize the citizens of Kalispell for petty issues.

Dark and Quiet…. that really describes the economy and business attitude this city presents!  Except did you see how daylight orange bright at night it was last snow storm?  Turning off 80 small businesses lights won’t fix that!  How about we just turn off the lights and move?

By the way, Is there a speed limit?  And what are those red lights for?

Better hang those kids for not wearing skateboard helmets first.

I don’t dwell on the negative Little Hawk I see a lot of positive potential waiting untapped. One good tune could do it.

“...the Planning Department has issued several letters to the businesses notifying them of the
requirement. As of Nov. 2008, according to a staff memo, 80 businesses are still not in
compliance.”

Who will bet me $1000 that the Kalispell planning department will never do more than send a few
letters?  Any takers?  While I’m not in favor of such stringent requirements and regulations set out
by the Kalispell planning department, they do have a way of just letting things go to the dogs.  I
don’t think they could enforce their way out of a wet paper sack.  Stop creating rules and
regulations if you don’t have the backbone to enforce them.
