It would have been interesting for the reporter to ask how many suicides have happened in that jail.

It is a good thing that the jail is closing. The inmates in there aren’t cared for or monitored properly. I am surprised there aren’t law suits but then maybe there are and I am not aware of them.
I wish the entire law system in Columbia Falls would be moved to Kalispell.
I heard of some really stupid arrests here.
There was one a week ago that I just shook my head about.
Two neighbors in town don’t like each other for what ever reasons and one flipped of the other and then he in return flipped the other off in return and the first one to do the hand motion calls the police and the second party is arrested.
Now this is how the tax dollars are put to work in this town but to top it off, the judge Tina stated that he had to pay $185.00 or stay in jail till jan for court on this.
Police are suppose to serve and protect, not be bullies and not treat the citizen like they are second class.
I believe we need police, and laws are important. But I think that if our police here are so bored they have to pick on people and create so called crimes we need to do some changes like reduce the force, hire all new, change the prosecutors and judges. It is a mess here.
Some day some one will sue or go up ladder and complain.
This is a nice little town with good people in it for the most part. They deserve some respect.

I live reasonably close to Columbia Falls but I avoid travelling on their streets and shopping at their stores. I am suspicious of the attitudes of their court and their police. I obey most laws and I haven’t had a ticket for over thirty years but I keep my eyes wide open. My money goes elsewhere.
