Comments on: Commentary: Rules Run Amok

Thanks Beacon for removing my previous comments. Sorry you can’t handle the truth. Of course if you don’t know what happened in the past, you wouldn’t know the difference. If you have a problem with this post, please email me.
Verdell Jackson is well known here for his aversion to homosexuals or anyone he perceives as gay.
He has been quoted saying he’s against “gay” rights because he’s uncomfortable that men may be looking at him.
The Beacon is lacking institutional memory, being new to the area. Therefore, many persons of questionable integrity are seeking to sanitise their public perception through the Beacon.
Thanks to Connie & Maury for proping up this legislative homophobe.

The first comment was taken down because it included inappropriate comments about someone’s physical appearance. As always, please keep criticism to ideas and opinions.

So you’re saying that the Beacon is full of biggots and promotes it within their paper? No, moron, it’s called REPORTING! They did a story on a big issue, but took a look at it through a certain perspective to make a point… the point is the absurdity of some of the laws that make one of the last “free” states more controlled. I doubt Kellyn or anyone on staff cares about what this man may/may not feel about certain things… it’s not part of the article. Should no media outlet do a story that involves this Jackson fellow because of what he believes? Doesn’t that in itself promote prejudice? Which is what you’re so mad about (Jackson’s views towards gays)?
The Beacon is an objective news outlet that has given the valley a fresh view on things. Obviously you’re not going to agree about EVERYTHING you read, but come on man… chill out! This story was a story about a lawmaker (regardless of his views towards one group or another) who is upset about how politics today are being run… and honestly, I think it’s refreshing because I believe that many of us feel the same way about politics today… **cough** kalispell city council and planning board **cough**
But seriously, it’s nice to see someone in politics looking out for the “little guy” who just wants to show an antique machine. I understand certain laws, but it seems like today that people lose sight of those that don’t really fall into that category, but there is nothing they can do because there isn’t a ‘category’ for them to fall into, so they have to deal with the broad laws that cover only a certain majority. I personally aplaud this guy for sticking up for the little guy that is just a victim of big government.
so don’t sit there and try to make the Beacon and its staff out to be a bunch of biggots who only “prop up a legislative homophobe.” They are just reporting the news and probably have little knowledge about what this guy even does in his personal life… wow, that’s actually a relief… a news agency that actually cares more about the NEWS rather than the stupid gossip and drama that this dumbed-down nation has become so enamered by with the paparazzi and stuff.
Thank you Beacon for staying professional and reporting REAL NEWS. It’s nice to be able to come on here and not see pointless stories about Jessica Simpson at the Cowboys game and T.O.‘s reaction… who cares…?

Too bad you’re so self absorbed that you can not bother to follow the actions of the Montana state legislature. Of course it might be difficult for you to do so from Seattle.
The fact is that Verdell Jackson has made statements in the past that can only be described as absurd. If Mr. Jackson is so paranoid about “guys looking at him” I believe he should consult a medical professional.
If Mr. Jackson really believes that a slot machine here, a barber pole there, is important work for a legislator he needs to find bigger fish to fry.
Let’s rid the legislature of these homophobic bigots.
The Beacon might need to hire an older person from the area that can tell the difference between news and propaganda.

To Hot Man Verdell: Lern how to spel. Why are you mad that Verdell Jackson does not fly the rainbow flag? Please move to SF to mingle if you are so inclined.
To Thanks Nicky: Where can we send the feds to knock on your door to take your assets on a law or statute that has loopholes? I’m sorry about your rainbow affliction as well.
To complainers: 1.) Vote. 2.) File for office yourself.

I don’t care about this gentleman’s personal demons.I do care about his remarks while representing us in the legislature.
If you truely believe that it’s about rainbow flags, you’re already delusional.
Ask your doctor about treatment options.

I guess they never taught you in school about the war when jews, gypsys, homos, anyone they viewed as a threat were forced from their homes, then gassed, exterminated, made dead.
Now we have a new crop of nazis right here among us. The beatings and attacks against people “perceived” to be gay are becoming common. This may be due in part to the lack of respect that some folks are learning through the republicants, John Stokes, the Wedge and similar outlets.
Remember the man in Missoula that was severely beaten because of his “gay” eyeglasses? Of course not, the Daily Interflake would not run a story like that. Do you remember the 2 ladies that were burned out of their home (attempted murder, actually), the cops could not find the perp in spite of 2,000 square feet of evidence, but were able to solve the missing garden gnome mystery that had plagued the city. These ladies nearly died because they sued the state for equal treatment by statute.
How about the man severely beaten in his driveway out on Whitefish Stage Road? Was he too “gay” for you too?
The people that suffered during the last nazi reign have legally armed themelves and believe me, they do carry. Big ones. Every day, always.
Keep this in mind while fuming about rainbow flags or the state of Israel .
Somebody tell Verdell, I’m not sure he reads.
NEVER AGAIN! NEVER AGAIN! NEVER AGAIN!
