Comments on: Commercial Developers Searching for Tenants
Let’s be civil.
The Flathead Beacon encourages vigorous discussion and lively debate, but we will delete comments that attack other readers, make accusations we can’t verify, stray too far off topic, criticize local businesses (call them if you have a problem), convict someone of a crime, use profanity or are simply judged to be in bad taste. Well, Citizen, right now luck might be needed to make a go of any business in the valley.  It really tightened up here just lately.  People are losing their jobs now.  That means they can’t go shopping for the items we’re selling.  So I can’t go shopping for what you sell.  And so on.
The new retail development sites are outrageously priced.  The rent on the buildings are very expensive.  Is it worth it?  Not lately, TRUST ME.  I fear there will be more empty shops soon.  Hutton Ranch lost one tenant last month.
The economy has to straighten up real soon.  But how long will the local businesses survive this recession?  If you care, then SHOP LOCAL.  Notice Jim’s (Kari Dodge) commercial.  He offers a nice incentive to avoid the box stores and help the LOCAL retailers.  Jeff (Depratu Ford) has a commercial pleading us to do likewise.
This recession will blow over.  Hopefully soon.

Hutton Ranch had better find some topsoil for the “pads” that they cannot sell.  You are allowing dust to blow all over town.  Get some grass planted!

I think the worst of it is coming from across the street.  Where the Kohl’s project was abandoned.  They are still working the ground, and hauling topsoil away.  At Hutton the vacant lots are pretty much gravel and haven’t been disturbed for some time.

No JD, the economy will never recovery.. Didn’t you hear Bush, “this sucker is going down”.  Congress spending into oblivion by design, manufacturing is 1/7 1970 levels.  A complete new system will be put in place..only after the present USA is completely wrecked.  Look at the Chinese model of working peons 12-18 hours making 950 and 1200 yuan per month on average (US$138-$175).  Compare that with some UAW workers making over $70/hr.  Didn’t Rockefeller brag about accomplishing the take down of America already 30 years ago?  Why you still talking about good days coming and stroking folks reading?

We are in for a 5-10 depression.  This is just the beginning.  Here are two experts that predicted this and I agree with.  Listen to John Browne and Peter Schiff.  They predicted where we are today, and knew it was coming back in 2000.  Watch these 3 clips and see for your self.  DOW will equall 4000-5000,  the dollar will hit 20-40 points, and gold will hit $2000 per ounce.  Watch and see.  Denial will not save your portfolio.

—-And why do you think they are saying that?-FOR THEIR OWN PROFITS TO GO UP! They can care less who buys their cars wether they be out of stater’s or locals, they’re just trying a marketing guilt trip gimmick to get people to buy their wares. I personally find those ads insulting. At the root It matters not where one buys, the important issue is the freedom to choose where and what to buy.
