Let’s be civil.
The Flathead Beacon encourages vigorous discussion and lively debate, but we will delete comments that attack other readers, make accusations we can’t verify, stray too far off topic, criticize local businesses (call them if you have a problem), accuse someone of a crime, use profanity or are simply judged to be in bad taste. We don’t always have someone moderating comments, so we ask for your help: If you see a comment that violates these ground rules, or you simply deem it offensive, please e-mail webmaster [at] flatheadbeacon.com.

Spoken by “Mr. Compromise” himself, Bob Brown.

This is absurd.  Bob Brown and Mike Jopek are doing serious battle for most tepid and disturbing
American political essay.  Talk about self-righteous fanaticism.  Good grief.  Go take a hike.

Thank you for your comments, Mr. Brown. What a shame that a generation of Americans won’t be
able to recall a time when politics didn’t involve shrill epithets and uncompromising
grandstanding. I didn’t always agree with your political leaning, Mr. Brown, but I knew that you
were a statesman and gentleman - the qualities so sorely lacking in poltical discourse now. I
appreciated your reminder that it doesnt have to be this way.
