Is Daniel Boone possibly related to Danny Boone who grew up in Havre and used to play the baritone horn in the Havre High School band?  If so, that’s where he got his musical genes and ear.

Interestingly, David does have a brother named Danny but the family is from Seeley Lake, Mont.  Check out a little more on the band at www.davidboone.net.
