As with lots of polls, there needs to be either a more complete question or multiple questions. How many would vote yes it they would end up paying significantly more money? Most “honest” observers will admit that cap and trade will be very costly.

Yet another Obama special being slammed through Congress at breakneck speed…let’s hope the Senate kills this monster before it is unleashed.

It was not read at all in the House. One Illinois senator claims he did, but I seriously doubt that…and certainly not with the 300+ pages added to it several minutes before it was voted on in the House.  What’s more, Pelosi will not allow the public to read it before the Senate votes on it.  So much for “transparency” and “accountability”.

I think this is a disaster awaiting to happen. It taxes too much, controls too much, and in the end we will be paying TOO MUCH because of the expense that will trickle down to us the consumer !  Not to mention the job loss it will create when our industries move to other soil ( which I might add other countries are not doing this, so I dont know what good this is really going to do in the end).  I am not against doing this or that for bettering the enviroment, but to put in action laws, & bills that require a total change without having this change over readily availible ( and then penalizing those that cant afford the switch) is insane.  Seems to me a excuse to heavily tax and charge this country.  Better get that woodstove installed, oil lamps out, and buy up or make lots of quilts, I think our winters are going to feel alot worse in the near future !  ( May end up praying for global warming to actually happen !!!!!)

JB : Ya know, you could be right !!!!  They are considering taxing cattle because did you know they are causing global warming as well ??  Gee take away our fuel, our lights, our heat, and food…... I guess in the end, those that were for it, and those that were against it ( and those that want an even playing field) well it will be level, as we all starve and freeze together !!!

Mooseberry : Yes, Pelosi can do NO wrong, not even when she does !!!!!

Would be nice to make plugs for the other end as well…... I can think of some AWESOME uses for those !!! ( wink, wink, NOT saying any names) Do you think if we quiet those that endlessly rattle on and on and on ( with nothing good to offer) we could reduce the BS load, therefore ridding the earth of hot air !!!!!!!!!

I was listening to Ron Paul the other day talking about a Dem rep who voted for this bill, and then told him he hoped that it wouldn’t pass!!  When Paul asked him why he voted for it in the first place, he was told “Well, I was told to vote this way”...8 GOP members were asked to vote against it, and 15 to 20 Dems were asked (according to this rep) to keep their votes until the last minute, when they would be told which way to vote, so that it would appear to be a close run.  Like I said before - it’s eye candy for the masses, just like show business.

It’s really great to know that our reps. vote the way they are told to and not the way the “people” ask them too.

Yes, we need to decrease our emissions of greenhouse gases.  The evidence is overwhelming that human emissions are rapidly changing the climate. We must not let the militant deniers threaten the future of our grandchildren and the earth.

Speaking of militants, coldsteel is over the edge with his death threats.  He’s also a liar.  The FEMA web site he references says the Homeland Security exercise is focused on a hypothetical act of terrorism outside the U.S. and it centers on preventing subsequent efforts by the terrorists to enter the United States and carry out additional attacks. The FEMA site does not refer to any foreign troops in the U.S. nor urban warfare nor targeting U.S. Vets.  This is all paranoid BS, or more likely deliberate incitement of the dimmer bulbs in our midst.  I’m not asking the Beacon editor to remove coldsteel’s death threats so that all may witness…  I encourage all to speak out against violent fascists like coldsteel

@mooseberry: hey that’ll cut down on T.P. usage by not eating any beans or tex-mex, or just take half as many breaths in a minute to cut down on “human CO2 impact” taxes.  Also, just ban cars altogether - limit people to taking public transit only, with bicycles or walking the preferred method of transport - then they’ll have to find a way to tax people for going from place to place, I’m sure that’ll be creative!!

Saddens me so many are still in denial about the trouble we are in.  In 1992, Bush signed in Executive Order 12803, beginning the sale of American infrastructure to the highest bidder.  We reside on land no longer “USA”.  Here’s the link for the dim bulbs refusing to acknowledge reality.  http://www.eagleforum.org/column/2006/sept06/06-09-06.html  Now I direct you to Senator Jim Deacon’s website..(there are 100’s of sites) relaying DHS Napolitano labeling vets as terrorists, the greatest threat to national security.  Here’s the link-
http://jimdeakin.com/news/american-veterans.html  Moving on to this bill the Congress just passed to send snoops into everyone’s home to come up with arbitrary fines for “green” violations, here’s the link-  http://www.greencarcongress.com/2009/06/house-20090627.html  I know it’s difficult for some of you to recognize tyranny, let alone face the take over the USA.  Sorry.  I leave you with one last article, boy scouts being trained to disarm vets.  http://www.infowars.com/boy-scouts-train-to-become-homeland-gestapo/  Drande, you owe me an apology and or you are just a dim bulb.  Either way, the country is done.

National Level Exercise 2009 (NLE 09)

National Level Exercise 2009 (NLE 09) is scheduled for July 27 through July 31, 2009. NLE 09 will be the first major exercise conducted by the United States government that will focus exclusively on terrorism prevention and protection, as opposed to incident response and recovery.  So, Drande doesn’t have problem with troops urban warfare training all over the nation?  No problem with foreign troops involved in joint exercises?  Ignorance is bliss they say.  Wake up fool.  http://www.fema.gov/media/fact_sheets/nle09.shtm  You really are so naive to believe troops are training for overseas action?  They’re training to take us knucklebird.

Here’s another one for the dim bulbs to chew on - the Food Safety Enhancement Act of 2009 (HR 2749).  This particular piece of garbage legislation will give the FDA expanded powers over food production and regulation.

HR 2749 would give FDA, among other provisions,  the power to order a quarantine of a geographic area, including “prohibiting or restricting the movement of food or of any vehicle being used or that has been used to transport or hold such food within the geographic area”.  Meaning - they can stop any vehicle they want in a quarantine zone, basically shutting down all transport, allowing the government to declare martial law in a zone.

This bill needs to be stopped cold - here’s a link to enable sending a message to your legisators to get this diatribe off the books:

Those who would favor oppression in the name of “social justice” do not want freedom for the people.  Hitler said the same things to his people.  We really see the true plot and intention of this so-called “social justice” - control of every commodity to subjugate and control the people.

A corporation is primarily responsible for the bulk of the content in HR 2749 - Monsanto.  This legislation will destroy the independent farmer - placing his land under government control - so that he can only produce what the government tells him to produce.  If he doesn’t, he will be thrown off his land.  This is the kind of “social justice” that we can expect from the new order.
