It does matter, and the surest indication of the caliber of our “leadership”, our nation is presently having
to endure, is the trail of lies, edits, talking points, etc. that were known to be untrue even as they were
presented.  That is why it matters.  Americans were lied to for political expediency, and integrity
shoved aside.  America deserves an honest President, not some political hack with an agenda.

Benghazi is the biggest cover up since the birth certificate brouhaha.

It is impossible to imagine the horror our ambassador and his security team faced as the Muslim

This an indelible stain on our nation’s history, yet people will support the presidential

Some Republican lies about Obama:
He has been the highest spending President in history
He is not an American
He is a communist/socialist/fascist
He is always on vacation
The economy has gotten worse under Obama
Obamacare is unconstitutional
He has been bad for business
He has waged economic war on the rich
He is anti Isreal
He has expanded government
His policies have made the economy worse
Under Obama voter ID fraud is a serous problem
He waived the work requirement for welfare

This is just too easy; the right’s political propaganda generating machine includes dozens
of corporate funded think tanks that seem to gin up multiple lies daily and send them out
as talking points. And of course the propaganda spreading part, consisting of all those
hate radio blowhards and the Rupert Murdock bevy of TV and print outlets to enforce the
intent to repeat the lies often enough that they become accepted “truthiness”....nothing like
it exists on the left. And when we include the mainstream media, 95% owned by 6
multinational corporations (who are just as liberal as their multinational corporate owners)
the right wing lies become gospel to true believers.

If you google “Republican lies about Obama” you will see 13 million pages of evidence.

Reggie, I think you are confused about the difference between actual lies which are statements
claiming something to be true that is not and utterances of projection made by political
proponents and media sycophants to create perceptions on the part of low information voters.

For instance: of course Obama is not “always” on vacation, he just takes more personal time off
than any other president has and by his own admission, when he is there he has no idea what any
of his staffers or departments are doing.

Your list is wrong from top to bottom. Example: Last July, Obama’s Department of Health and
Human Services released an official policy directive effectively gutting work requirements from
the successful welfare reform of 1996. The Administration claimed it was simply responding to
states’ requests for flexibility to implement innovations. However, their own memo states that
the White House was actively looking to waive the work requirements much earlier—and that the
Administration “sought authority to waive much more than just work requirements.”

Sure, he hasn’t been bad for ‘all’ businesses. Solyndra is a great example of that. were right when you said this is just too easy. But, again, you were projecting.

Eileen Wrong, I was tempted to leave our comment to me unanswered, your attempt to
explain the difference between lying and deliberate deception is hilarious…. However, I will
answer your three challenges to my very abbreviated list.

Obama took 131 vacation days in his first four years in office. That puts him on pace for
262 vacation days in eight years as President. By contrast, Bush took 1020 days and
Reagan took 484 days. Obama is on track to take fewer vacation days than either G.W.B.
or St. Reagan.

Since Obama has been President corporate profits are up 171% and are at the highest
levels, relative to size of economic growth, since 1947.

As reported by The Raw Story; “In truth, President Obama modified the welfare reform law
in such a way as to allow the states greater flexibility in their own welfare to work programs,
as requested by a group of Republican governors. The states, however, must present
compelling reasons as to why they should be allowed to waive the work requirements”.
The directive from the administration reads; “The secretary (of health and human
services) is only interested in approving wavers if the state can explain in a compelling
fashion why the proposed approach may be a more efficient or effective means to promote
employment entry”.

You ‘re spinning like a dime store top. You could be good at Jay Carney’s job. If corporate
profits are actually up there would be an increase in tax revenues, but your boys and girls in
DeeCee are saying the opposite. Could it be that the corporations pushing the numbers are the
swells that support Obama and have moved much of their business elsewhere like Google,
Microsoft, GM and GE?

Second attempt.

In a news article on Jan. 16, 2013 ( David J. Lynch
wrote: “U.S. corporations after tax profits have grown by 171 percent under Obama, more
than under any president since world war two, and are now at their highest level relative to
the size of the economy since the government began keeping records in 1947, according
to data compiled by Bloomberg.”

Perhaps the low taxes received by government that you mentioned can be explained by all
the tax breaks given to corporations. Some even get refunds that result in negative tax
rates on billions of profit….G.E. comes to mind.

An American ambassador and three brave men who tried to protect him were left to die a horrible

As usual moosey and the rightwing noise machine cherry picks a phrase out of context.  Here’s
the transcript:

Clinton: Well, no, it’s the fact. Number two, I would recommend highly you read both what the
ARB said about it and the classified ARB because, even today, there are questions being raised.
Now, we have no doubt they were terrorists, they were militants, they attacked us, they killed
our people. But what was going on and why they were doing what they were doing is still unknown—

Johnson: No, again, we were misled that there were supposedly protests and that something sprang
out of that—an assault sprang out of that—and that was easily ascertained that that was
not the fact, and the American people could have known that within days and they didn’t know that.

Clinton: With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a
protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided that they’d they go kill
some Americans? What difference at this point does it make? It is our job to figure out what
happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again, Senator. Now,
honestly, I will do my best to answer your questions about this, but the fact is that people
were trying in real time to get to the best information. The IC has a process, I understand,
going with the other committees to explain how these talking points came out. But you know, to
be clear, it is, from my perspective, less important today looking backwards as to why these
militants decided they did it than to find them and bring them to justice, and then maybe we’ll
figure out what was going on in the meantime.

Johnson: OK. Thank you, Madame Secretary.

bo 57- now that the cat is out of the bag. The whitehouse knew all along that the ambassador was
meeting w/militanys to run guns. That is a fact they now admit to. And then to claim it was a video
that started this Obama disaster, that is a cover up. Obama himself claimed this on national t.v.
while he knew about the gun running from the get go.
Its not the gun running that was so bad, previous presidents of both parties have done it, it is the
fact that Obama made these intentionaly false statements to CYA.  Hoping that the truth would not
reveal itself. Hillary was in, from the beginning, on the dirty little secret too. Do you think she

But just for fun, let’s imagine this conspiracy theory to be true for a minute.

Sen. John McCain went to Syria because he thinks he, and only he, can determine who the most

The WH knew about his trip but did not put a seal of approval on it.

John McCain goes to Syria to meet the rebels and pal around with terrorists from Hezbollah.

While the press cameras are watching McCain pallets of gold bullion, or maybe bales of the

Check your facts before you flap your yap, Eileen.

“The cuts, known as the sequester, will wipe $600 million from the IRS’s budget this year,
forcing the agency’s nearly 100,000 employees to be furloughed without pay for up to seven days.

Five furlough days have been identified so far—beginning on May 24 and they will be spread

When Clinton played his furlough scam on the American people in ‘96, the federal union employees

Bo, you may remember that this thread is about Benghazi and whether or not it is important.

You may also know that the bodies of American casualties from eastern war zones are routinely
returned to the US Morgue at Dover AFB in Delaware. It is there that they are meticulously
detailed for burial in their dress uniforms. I don’t believe that protocol has ever been broken,
until Barack and Hillary wanted to do a photo op for the media.

On September 14 the White House ordered the plane bring Ambassador Stevens and the x-SEALs back
to Dover diverted for a staged memorial at Andrews AFB. Andrews was chosen because it is close
to the capitol and Obama was entertaining Olympic Athletes that afternoon and didn’t want to go
to Dover to meet the plane.

The families of the slain Americans are normally waiting at Dover if they are able to be there
to meet the planes. Somehow Charles Woods who’s son was killed protecting the Ambassador was met
and flown to Andrews to be part of the set up .

It was there (Three days after the murders) that Hillary held Mr. Woods’ hand and told him (in
feigned sincerity) that she and the President would do everything in their power to see that the
movie maker who caused the spontaneous riot would be prosecuted. Of course they have now changed
the story about it being an act of terror.

Fact check: Neither the Ambassador nor the civilian contractors wear military uniforms.

Fact check: Libya is not a designated war zone.

Fact check: Prior service members are not eligible for processing at Dover.  That is solely for
active duty members.

Fact check:  Washington DC is where Ambassdor Stevens HQ is, at the State Dept.

I checked at least a dozen rightwingnut websites for reports that Mr. Woods had to be relocated
to Andrews from Dover.  None of them mentioned it.  Nor did any of them say anything about the
flight being diverted for anyone’s convenience.  Given the nature of rightwingnuts, I would

Eileen is apparently unfamiliar with the concept of the “fog of war”.  As time passes after a
tragic event like Benghazi, or an actual battlezone battle, more info becomes available and
first impression begin to changes as more facts are discovered and pieced together.  So yes,
stories change as a process of making the best info available, not as an attempt to cover up.

Fact check to the OT.  How 157 visits becomes 11

And yet the public meeting schedules available for review to any media outlet show that very
thing: Shulman was cleared primarily to meet with administration staffers involved in
implementation of the health-care reform bill. He was cleared 40 times to meet with Obama’s
director of the Office of Health Reform, and a further 80 times for the biweekly health reform
deputies meetings and others set up by aides involved with the health-care law implementation
efforts. That’s 76 percent of his planned White House visits just there, before you even add in
all the meetings with Office of Management and Budget personnel also involved in health reform.

Complicating the picture is the fact that just because a meeting was scheduled and Shulman was
cleared to attend it does not mean that he actually went. Routine events like the biweekly
health-care deputies meeting would have had a standing list of people cleared to attend, people
whose White House appointments would have been logged and forwarded to the check-in gate. But
there is no time of arrival information in the records to confirm that Shulman actually signed
in and went to these standing meetings.

Indeed, of the 157 events Shulman was cleared to attend, White House records only provide time
of arrival information—confirming that he actually went to them—for 11 events over the
2009-2012 period, and time of departure information for only six appointments. According to the
White House records, Shulman signed in twice in 2009, five times in 2010, twice in 2011, and
twice in 2012. That does not mean that he did not go to other meetings, only that the White
House records do not show he went to the 157 meetings he was granted Secret Service clearance to

The lay reader understands the White House to be the big white mansion with the columns and the
Oval Office and the West Wing and the presidential family living in residence. The Daily Caller
talked about visits to “the president’s home.” But the White House visitors’ records cover the
entire White House complex—the big famous white building, along with the freestanding
Eisenhower Executive Office Building inside the gated compound and the New Executive Office
Building, which is up 17th Street and outside the White House gates.

The vast majority of Shulman’s scheduled meetings were to take place in the Eisenhower Executive
Office Building—115 of them.

There’s a list following that paragraph.

I stand corrected. Bo, you’ve done a great job of protecting your man. I’m not sure on all of
your facts, but clearly if even half of them are correct, then Hilary laying the movie maker lie
on the father of the dead man who gave his life trying to aid our ambassador gets a free pass.
Also, the denial of help should never again be discussed. What difference does it make?

Job well done.
