Congratulations to Mr. Testa for scoring interviews with both. Not too sure about the answers, but good questions.

no way a liberal dem wins in Montana!!!

This was certainly an important and insightful interview; one that I hope will be read by those voting in next week’s primary. Congratulations Beacon!

Terrific questions on the issues that matter to the Flathead Valley.  Congratulations on a first for Northwest Montana, the candidates speaking to directly to our concerns.

Don’t let these people touch your gun rights.  All this common sense this and common sense that is BS.  Why don’t they push for keeping criminals in jail where they belong?  Why do they (and other dems) choose to blame society and then feel bad for the criminals and let them plea to lesser charges and then do less time?  Do a crime, do the time.  That’s it.  Those scumbags that killed that cop Lizbinksi in Philly all should have still been in jail.

Don’t buy their BS…they don’t want you to have guns and their “common sense” legislation is a slippery slope into tyranny.

As an 85 year old senior from Montana - I still had not made up my mind on the President until just recently.
Visited family in Portland and had the opportunity to go to each of the Senators rallies there and that is where my mind was made up.
Sen. Obama is a great orator - can move a crowd to a frenzy especially the younger voters who almost look to him as a rock star - as for me - I felt that he was rushed - assumed my vote and wanted to move on to the general election - not so fast I am from Montana - you do not assume anything - you have to earn my vote - his two main words of HOPE and CHANGE meant - I guess he is going to somehow change politics of Washington DC but accepts the endorsements from those politicans - it does not come free - and at the end of the day recalling what I had learned from the rally I came up with NOTHING.
On the other hand - Sen Clinton was warm, compassionate, sincere and felt a genuine feeling she was happy to be there with us and to answer all our questions with solid solutions from healthcare, family owned farms, student loans and the economy to name but a few.

HOPE - the other word - for me that meant when Brad Pitt and Bill Clinton was in New Orleans to give support and HOPE to that community for reconstruction and a new life - Hillary attended a rally there later on for the same reason even though she HAD NOT gotten their votes - Obama was too busy with his campaign to attend - is that the change he is talking about doing in Washington DC??

And I personally still have a problem with the Pastor - how could you possibly be that “unaware” of someones viewpoints after 20 years and if that were the case - who would want someone in the White House that just might be unaware of Iran, Russia, China or N. Korea - let alone the company of Ayers, Rezko and the Pastor Wright THAT WE KNOW ABOUT TODAY.

The only experienced candidate with the fight, vision, plans and the ability to lead us forward to the future is Hillary R Clinton - please fellow citizens of Montana and especially Kalispell - give her the popular vote so she can go to the convention and fight for us - all we want is a fair chance for the future - we do not want free handouts.

GOD BLESS OUR AMERICA AND MONTANA

NEITHER of the Democratic candidates deserve our vote.  They both are engaging in double talk about the Second Amendment, and are merely kow-towing to public opinion in Montana.  Both candidates have a record of gun right suppression, and both candidates have spoken out in favor of anti-gun legislation in their districts.

I am not saying that McCain is any better a candidate, but at least he has a record of supporting legislation that supports gun rights.  Even though he does not have a chance of winning, my vote goes to Ron Paul - a candidate who will bring us the change we need.

I have a terrible churning in my stomach that results from the complete state of denial this country is in regarding the failing economy. Arguing over gun rights is superfluous compared to the upward spiraling price of very basic necessities such as food, clothing and shelter. How’s your mortgage doing? Bought a half gallon of milk lately?

I can’t believe how escapist this nation is. All we want to do is watch “Dancing With The Stars” and read about Brittany Spears latest tabloid adventures while slurping our 64oz Big Gulp and pumping our $4/gal gas.

Wake up people… the only time you’ll be needing to worry about gun rights is when the urban chaos starts to spread to the food rich rural areas. “You lookin’ at my carrots city boy?“ BAM!

Obama is the only candidates that isn’t in bed with Bush. You think Hillary is staying in this race to win? No… she’s staying in it to ensure that McCain is elected by splintering the Democratic party even further when Obama is finally declared the nominee, which will happen - it’s basic math at this point. Thanks Hil for another 4 years of Republicanism… can’t wait.

I heard a lot of song and dance, but not a single direct answer to any of the questions posed.

By DJK on 05-29-08

Exactly!  It’s a dog and pony show with Obama and Clinton.

By j davis on 05-30-08

I am sorry to say that for the first time since I was eligible to vote I will probably stay home on election day. What a choice!! One candidate who promises 4 more years of disastrous Bush policies, another who speaks well and has no real substance, and a bimbo who is willing to destroy her own party to further her warped personal ambition.Just once before I leave this earth I would like to be able to vote for a candidate that I actually believe in.

By Schnutz on 05-30-08

Congratulations on scoring the interviews!

It would be nice if they had said something, but I am reasonably certain having done so would have precluded them from winning over many voters.

To everyone who has planned to vote Operation Chaos consider this:

Bob Barr(former Republican) has planned to run for President on the Libertarian ticket. This will split the Republican Party which will cause the Democratic nominee to become President of the United States. This is not a game folks.

Speaking of the United States, Obama made a slip of the tongue the other day in talking about the “57 states”.

The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is an international organization with a permanent delegation to the United Nations. It groups 57 nations, most of which are Islamic, from the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, Caucasus, Balkan, Southeast Asia, South Asia and South America. The primary goals of the OIC are, according to its Status, “to promote solidarity among all Islamic member states.“

After the last 7 years of Bush I cannot declare myself a Republican any longer but consider myself to be an Independent voter. I appreciate the questions asked in this interview. To me a vote for Obama would be just the same as a vote for Bush before. You see, Bush was not qualified or experienced enough to be President. He has become a “puppet” of the older Republican party views. Just as Obama will be a “puppet” for the extreme liberals because of his lack of experience. I hope that some of these younger voters that have drank the Kool-Aid will talk to some of their older family members so they can be told from an authority about the platform to change Washington and how many times we have heard candidates make that promise in the past. They all say that to get elected but then it is party politics as usual. Bush even campaigned about how he would reach across the aisle and have an improved Washington.
I am concerned about our economy, our homeland security and how on earth to get out of the mess in Iraq that will honor our soldiers and get them safely home where they belong instead of doing 3 or 4 deployments there.
Hillary is getting my vote because I think she is the best candidate to be President.

By JB on 06-02-08

I retract what I said about McCain supporting the Second Amendment - he has just as bad a record of supporting legislation to suppress ownership of guns.

Not that it matters anyway…the voters will vote the way they want, and those in power will “rig” the vote to put whom they want as President.  There is no such thing as true representation…we are living with the illusion of freedom anyway…

By brenda russell on 06-03-08

Today as you vote, think long and hard and I hope you will
vote for Hillarly Clinton as obama has to much bagage with
people who could do harm to this country.  What about his
church who had influence on him for 20 years. G>D> america!! His minister yelled!
We love America and I hope you will see through Obama!

By j davis on 06-03-08

And Hillary doesn’t have any baggage?? If I wanted a republican I would vote for one. She is republican lite! No way is that bimbo getting my vote!

By Joe on 06-12-08

Did I hear someone say they were going to consider themselves an Independent from now on?

Thats great because this is the year for Independents to shine.

Half of the Republicans do not like McCain and half the Democrats do not like Obama.

So the Independents have a good chance of winning this year.

Vote for Ralph Nader. He has been working for us all his life. We need change, but not Obama’s change.
