Comments on: Farm Bureau President Calls Media Coverage of Swine Flu ‘Scare Propaganda’

Give it some time. This looks like a really great opportunity to create a tax on the pork industry. [ooh, an untended nice play on words there eh?]
By ZooTown024 on 05-20-09
Wow it looks like the President of the Farm Bureau agrees with me on the media coverage concerning the swine flu. How shocking. This comment is for Grannygadgets, cowgirl and LH. So I guess time has told that my argument about the media fear mongering about the swine flu has some backing.
By littlehawk12 on 05-20-09
So I guess everyone should believe a fat CEO over the CDC and the WHO?
By ZooTown024 on 05-20-09
LOL…or maybe just the facts as they have come to light sir. With that good day, I remember why I havent been here for awhile. These debates on this site kill a lot of brain cells.
By Cowgirl Up on 05-20-09
I’m with littlehawk and grannysgadgets. I will listen to the CDC and the WHO before I listen to a CEO…or you ZooTown024!!! This article was mainly re. the ingestion of the meat and the Media helping to bring down the pork industry. Pork is not off my diet! I believe your brain cells are already dead!
By ZooTown024 on 05-20-09
Once again, idiocy at its best. Look at the facts. Good day folks. Maybe be back in a week or two.
By littlehawk12 on 05-20-09
What facts Zoo?You have not stated any “facts”.Where are these “facts” Zoo?And what is the source of your “facts”? A True idiot calls people idiots for not looking at “facts”.And then does not present any “facts”.So how ‘bout it Zoo?Where are your “facts”.
By littlehawk12 on 05-20-09
The “fact” is, is tha tZoo does not do any research. He just believes what he reads,Insults, argues,But never presents any facts. Now that is “A MATTER OF FACT”.
By ZooTown024 on 05-20-09
LOL lil buddy. Here is a quick fact. This is the equation for the percentage of the people infected with swine flu. I am putting it to you in an equation because I don’t want to type out all of those zeros….shock me and tell me how many zeros it would be sir. 1.47058824 x 10 to the negative 7th power. You can’t argue with the numbers sir. The simple fact is that it is a very feeble percentage of us who have gotten this flu. By the way part of the fear mongering was about how serious this strain is. So how many people has this strain killed sir? How many people the other strains kill sir? Good day.
By ZooTown024 on 05-20-09
How many people do other strains kill, is what the last thing shouldve said, sorry. Anywho, those would be interesting numbers. Could someone post them if they get a minute. If you don’t I will just assume you know that you are wrong.
By Cowgirl Up on 05-20-09
ZooTown024…not this time! Last time you asked for info. I went to the trouble to research it for you, to the best of my ability, and then when I posted it all you did was insult, ridicule and degrade me. So somebody else will have to provide you with the info. you’ve requested… It’s not “Cowgirl to the rescue” this time!
By littlehawk12 on 05-20-09
Yeh Zoo,Go do your own freakin research!!!You never post any factual research….
By ZooTown024 on 05-20-09
lol…okay..that is really all i need to say lil buddy. That was a very impressive and well thought out counter sir.
By littlehawk12 on 05-20-09

Being a “fact” that there were only 2 or 3 known cases 3 weeks ago. I find this number significant..
By ZooTown024 on 05-20-09
LOL…I posted the equation for the percentage of the world population infected sir. Just to put it into context. LOL…adios for awhile. Youre a smart man, I am privileged to be in your company. Thank you all for helping me to come to accept my ignorance.
By littlehawk12 on 05-20-09
HMMM…......... Zoo. I guess I am wrong for caring more and doing more researsch about my own Country before worrying about the rest of the world…I see where your head is at…Oh wait…...No I cant!!!!!.........Because it is stuck somewhere the sun dont shine!!!!!HAHA
By ZooTown024 on 05-20-09
Another very impressive counter sir. Im going to keep it very simple from now on. I have now adopted the keep it simple stupid mentality when I post on the beacon.
By ZooTown024 on 05-20-09
Well little buddy, considering you generally rail away at the government in your own, um, interesting way, don’t you think it is a bit hypocritical of you to rely soley on the WHO and US centers for disease control for your info. Well anyway, i’ll take the company of what you call a fat cat ceo as opposed to you and your bbbbbuuuu, nevermind, buddies any day. But anyway props to you on putting your hypocrisy on display for all to see. Once again you have indeed proven yourself to be an intellectual giant.
By ZooTown024 on 05-20-09
And by the way because I know you will mention your above stats to try and contradict my mathematical equation, I based that equation on roughly 5,000 cases. Hopefully you are bright enough to know that a few hundred people doesnt skew the percentage in the least. The world has over 6 billion people sir. Just a preemptive comment because I anticipate what the little buddies response might be, perhaps I have given him far to much credit. If I am wrong so be it.

Littlehawk : When they announced that people were getting sick from peanut butter paste, and named the brands that had the affected paste in them, well they were removed from the shelves, and people were allowed to return any that they had purchased. People stopped purchasing those brands, and did not use them. Same happened with spinich last year. It is the common sense thing to do, no one wants to get sick, no one wants the expense, or loss of work due to an illness, and God forbid possibly die ! ( there are those that would like you to think that ehhh I would go buy the peanut butter, and eat the spinich, especially because it is making people ill, its just propaganda after all). I for one did not purchase those items, do not drink water from the creek ( could get geardia), and will keep an informative eye out on this H1N1, because it is prudent, because it is wise, and because I believe in self preservation ( call me silly) !
By littlehawk12 on 05-21-09
I agree Granny. What I find very moronic is.Is that a certain blogger here finds it funny and jokes about 1000s of people getting sick and dieing from this flu.No wonder our Country is going down the tube.Just look at how some people think here.About 8 weeks boot camp and a couple of tours would do a “smart alec"alot of good.
By LumberJack on 05-21-09
You know, both of you (littlehawk12 & ZooTown024) can actually be right. Is it wise and prudent to wash your hands often and avoid contact with anyone who might have the sniffles? Of course—it always is. But the numbers in this case do seem to point to the fact that it is still a VERY rare illness (using the numbers you posted earlier, littlehawk12, and a US population of 306,460,000 shows there is a 0.00186% chance of contracting swine flu and a whopping 0.00000261% chance of dying from it…..both are staggeringly small chances). All ZooTown024 is saying (albeit in a fairly confrontational manner) is that the whole thing is being majorly overblown by the talking heads to keep us tuned in and on edge. It’s certainly not the first time something like this has happened—and it most definitely won’t be the last.
By mooseberryinn on 05-21-09
Hmm, makes me hungry. think I’ll grill some pork chops.
By littlehawk12 on 05-22-09
