Mark. I cannot tell you how absolutely appropriate your posting is to me today. WOW. I’m dealing with such a client now and had to terminate the relationship due to unprofessional and inappropriate behavior from them. Unfortunately I didn’t have the kind of contract that outlines conflict resolution and appropriateness of behavior so I’m taking losses as a result, but I know now, today, that my contract verbage will be amended and I will develop a wiser eye and prequalify clients before going into any contracts with them. THANKS!

Its tough, especially the first time.

In my case, it was easy because if I had needed to choose between the employees in question and that customer, there was no choice. Those 2 employees were (and still are, I expect) worth their weight in gold.

Prequalification is definitely a good thing, for many reasons beyond this one.
