Dave,  don’t always agree with everything you say, but generally find you right on target.  I liked your point that our two senators voice support for gun rights, then vote for people who would take those rights away.  Perhaps their actions speak louder than their words.  Next election when they’re running for re-election, my actions (vote) will perhaps also speak louder to them than any words I might say.  Look forward to your next column!

The reality is that Baucus’s political platform goes something like this:

“Find out which way the parade is going, and then get up to the front”.

Baucus is the ultimate political animal.  He will say or do whatever it takes to stay in office in Montana and in favour in Washington.  Sometimes those actions coincide with our interests, and sometimes they do not.

And that’s why Baucus will give lip service to Second Amendment rights and then vote for a Supreme Court Justice that he knows damn well will attack those rights.  He will depend on the legendary short memory of the electorate and do or say whatever it takes to stay in office.

The sad thing is, so far, recent history has proven that this strategy works very well on Montanans.
