Comments on: First Swine Flu Case Confirmed in Flathead County
By coldsteel on 06-18-09
DHS continues to lie about progress made to secure the border with Mexico. This video shows the “fence”. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5RPS_iTNiwWHO declared the threat level at max (6) and Baxter, the same company that last year sent tainted vaccines to Europe killing the pre-distribution test ferrets has prepared doses for mandatory distribution to all school kids. Anyone else feeling uneasy considering the incongruity of not sealing borders/limiting travel etc. and employing a company that still hasn’t explained how a mistake was committed which potentially would have killed millions?

Coldsteel : There is a whole lot to feel uneasy about in these times. You have to wonder how 1 part chicken, 1 part human, and 2 parts swine viruses came together and made H1N1 in the first place ( normal occurance I dunno). I trust nothing that is made quickly, especially in the medicince field.Along with every thing else that is taking place you almost want to ask ” What next ? “
By Cowgirl Up on 06-19-09
I am not a trusting person eithre…no vaccine for me or my family. Too much mis-information out there.
By JB on 06-19-09
It’s been stated by many virologists that this many strains of flu coming together (bird/swine/human) is impossible - this strain had to be engineered. Meaning this strain was intentionally released.
By grannysgadgets on 06-19-09
JB : You hate to think that way, but the obvious is, if it cant occur naturally, well someone had to make it. Then it leads to even an eerier question, if in fact it was produced, then who released it, or allowed to get out ?It is also verified to be in Lake County now as well.
Sure wish I had a crystal ball, that would help !
Cowgirl : To trust instantly every thing we encounter, that would be gullable. I’d rather be accused of being paranoid ( However I do not think it goes that far !)
By JB on 06-19-09
Granny - isn’t that obvious? It has to be someone with an agenda of control. I do not intend to accept the vaccine either - to place trust in our government in this environment only demonstrates gullibility and foolishness. However it got out - it’s out - and governments are taking full advantage of the fear that it is generating.
By JB on 06-20-09
Oh, and Keriann, you’re causing irrepairable economic harm to pork producers by calling it “swine flu”.
(that is sarcasm, BTW…sorry, I didn’t put markers like I usually do to warn people, I’m trying to minimize my sarcasm footprint as a favor to mooseberry, so he doesn’t have to take so much Pepto…)
By Cowgirl Up on 06-21-09
I’m with you granny…there’s just too many lies out there to be trusting in any government release as far as what they are able to do to stem the tide of this new flu strain. It just does not compute to think that it’s a “natural” mutation of nature. If that makes me paranoid…then so be it. But something is really wrong with this picture.

and once again the conservatives are pushing fear and zenophobia - add in greed and you have the 3 legs of the republican stool -too bad we couldn’t put it in a brown paper bag and throw it away w/ the rest of the stinky trash.
Why are you rightwingers so filled w/ FEAR?
Gov works fine when the democrats run it - but give the republicans the reins and into the ditch we go -
The last republican president to balance a budget was Eisenhower in the 50’s - and he did it by raising the top tax rate to 90%
The last democratic president to balance a budget? Clinton - the last democratic president.
If Obama makes it 8 years he’ll balance the budget OVER the objections of the republicans.
For instance - the demos tried to put in a requirement that any stimulus money be spent on MADE IN AMERICA but the rightwing filibustered it. Now we are the only major country to NOT have that provision in their bailout plans.
Once again corporate profits over people are more important to the rightwing than any logical BUY AMERICA FIRST plan.
Why does the rightwing LOVE the corporations more than WE THE PEOPLE?
Why are they only concerned w/ short term - non-sustainable profits and growth at any cost?
Show me where it even mentions corporations in the Declaration or the Constitution?

Mooseberryinn : Rightly so !

Amen, mooseberry!!

The last 30 years have re-distributed the wealth from the middle class to the wealthy so much that we have even gone beyond the stratification of the 1920’s and are entering into another 1880’s robber baron period.
YOU righties have no facts and severely lack a firm knowledge of history which is why you never answer questions about corporate power or corporate personhood and instead stick to fear mongering, Lies, and uneducated cliches.
You righties don’t even have enough historical knowledge to use original words - but instead just repeat falsehoods spread over the internet by the rightwing cults thru viral emails. And viral is the right word and is short for VIRUS - which is what the rightwing is in America - a VIRUS!
those most feared words were from reagan - who - like very other modern day republican has shown those to be self-fulfilling words by destroying the gov.
Which is why the rightwing can NEVER balance a budget - it
takes a democrat to have fiscal discipline.
Facts suck when you lack a knowledge of history - it leads to simplification and falsification of facts - the bias of the republican mantra of “greed is good” and profits are more important than the RIGHTS OF MAN.
Just another reason david frum called the republican party a CULT!
keep up the Hate america first rhetoric and you will drop even further into obscurity
as Thomas Paine once said : “Our union well and wisely regulated and cemented is the cheapest way of being great”
Notice even the founding fathers didn’t believe in the unfettered rise of the all-powerful corporation - in fact the revolution was - in large part - a fight against the monopoly of the east india trading co that was granted by the crown in order to destroy the small family owned business of colonial America.
That would make you conservatives no better than the tories - otherwise know as the royalists - commonly referred to as scoundrals. Amazing how much that fits w/ the (anti) libertarian movement.
Tom Paine also said ” the cunning of the fox is as murderous as the violence of the wolf, and we ought to guard equally against both”
Notice once again he doesn’t say the gov is evil and can never be trusted - (turn to burke for those nuggets) - But he does say keep an eye on big business and watch that it doesn’t run over the common man.
Thomas Paine also said the gov is WE THE PEOPLE and thru the ballot box and getting organized we can affect the gov - Notice the election of a black man which has all your shorts in a knot.
But we can’t have that same democratic effect on big multi-national business - those are basically kingdoms run as a dictatorship. Which the rightwing loves.
And given that the republican party is basically a racist party(notice the love of the deep south in the post above - double-speak for racism) and that in another 10 years or so the USA won’t even be 50% white that bodes well for freedom and liberty for WE THE PEOPLE!
YES WE CAN!
By grannysgadgets on 06-23-09
YES YOU CAN ” Spend others money” like it’s going out of style that is !The budget the Obama administration has presented to the American people is a new type of budget: it expands our government in unprecedented ways and presents the largest tax increase in history. It raises total spending to $3.9 trillion in 2009, or 28 percent of gross domestic product, the highest level as a share of GDP since World War II. In the next five years, the debt will double, and in 10 years, it will triple. This budget creates more debt than under every president from George Washington to George W. Bush combined … the Obama administration’s proposal is not a budget that the rest of America would recognize as a document for living within one’s means. It simply spends too much, taxes too much and borrows too much. It is a game plan for an explosive expansion of the size and intrusiveness of the national government based on a belief that bureaucrats can more effectively manage large segments of our economy and our daily lives than the private sector or the individual.
You hand out seekers will be the first to line up to prosper off of others hard work, and the first to complain when those who were not afraid of their own sweat make it out of the pile ! You want freedom you say ? Exactly what is your freedom that you whine about ? Freedom to freeload ? Freedom to take a share of a pie that you refuse to help build ? You have freedom to get employed, pay taxes ( to help others that are like you who sit and wait for others to clothe, feed, and pay for their care) we through our taxes from employment and ect. sadly help your cause more then your complaining and belly aching ever will ! Get a job woody, that way you can help those that are just like you ( Plus wouldnt it feel good to have a health care plan that you earned, it’s called ownership, you should try it sometime !)..........

The greatest lie is the one that states that government will save everyone. To rely on government is to put your faith in a false God that will lead you to destruction. What happened when the victims of hurricane Katrina relied on the government to help them? Many sat in their own filth and even died waiting for the government to deliver them. Those who did should not be blamed for they were merely following what has been conditioned in them by generations of liberal indoctrination. They were lied too, deceived, and beguiled by promises that government would always be there for them. In the end however their liberal teachings had only weakened them to the point where they were stripped of the most basic instinct for self preservation and rendered incapable of any personal initiative.

VERY good point JB !
By JB on 06-23-09
The only real entity that you can rely on in this world is YOURSELF!! If you don’t have the freedom to rely on yourself, you have nothing!! If you depend on someone else for your needs and wants, they are going to let you down - EVERY TIME!!!
By JB on 06-23-09
The liberal socialist viewpoint:
You’re not responsible for your lot in life. You were cheated. The wealth of others is unfair. Give us the “freedom” that wasn’t doing you any good anyway, and we will sharpen it into a weapon against those who took advantage of you. Give us your undying support, and you’ll never have to worry about feeling confused, guilty, or inadequate again. Voting for the Democrat ticket will fully discharge your moral and intellectual duty as a citizen – we’ll take it from there. In fact, we’ve got ACORN representatives standing by to fill that ballot out for you. You have a “right” to housing, a job, health care, a college education, easy credit, and a host of other benefits, and the liberal promises to provide all of these things, while making nameless rich people pick up the tab.
Must be nice to live in a dream world…at the expense of others.
By grannysgadgets on 06-23-09
True JB, very, very TRUE ! I agree with you 100%
