Comments on: Gun Bill Easily Clears Montana Senate
By JB on 04-01-09
I’m very gratified to see most of the main thrust of this bill is still there. The requirement for a concealed permit when carrying concealed is still in place, and it looks like they added a couple of more establishments that prohibit concealed carry as a concession (banks and health care facilities). That only applies to cities/towns/villages or lumber or mining camps anyway, which applies to 0.6 percent of Montana’s total land mass, and it only applies to weapons concealed by clothing. Carrying a concealed weapon in an external accessory item (purse/fanny pack/briefcase/backpack/etc.), or in a closed compartment in a vehicle is not considered concealed under Montana law. To say that this bill allows a “Wild West” attitude by those carrying firearms is ludicrous. I fully anticipate this bill will be instrumental in reducing violent crime in this state.

It is bills like this that make me proud to call myself a Montanan. In places like Britain, they have the opposite bill in effect there, and a guy is serving time for shooting at two intruders. One died, the other was convicted of robbery. The home owner? He is now behind bars (I guess you’re also not suppose to have handguns in that country, or shoot intruders).
The robber right now is a free man. If you don’t believe me, go google video it, a British station did the story.

The Democrats’ Idiot Argument:
“I could blow them away and I could probably convince somebody that I was threatened,” said Sen. Carol Juneau, D-Browning. “It’s not going to help Montana be safer.”
What’s somebody doing in your house, if they’re NOT a threat?
And you know why Montana’s as safe as it is? Because every criminal knows there is a potential cost to breaking in.
Take that away and you have the same failed, unsafe cities the Democrats have given us elsewhere.
I for one am not going to die for the sake of your repeated failures in social engineering and your National Socialist ideas.

JB thanks for cleaing that up for me. That was how I understoond the law to be.RE: Carrying a concealed weapon in an external accessory item (purse/fanny pack/briefcase/backpack/etc.), or in a closed compartment in a vehicle is not considered concealed under Montana law.
I was SO glad to see that the bill is sailing threw, although I wish it could have remained intact, but I guess that is wanting your cake, and eating it too !
How is the Montana made firearms/ HB246 doing ? I have not found anything on its progress, anyone know ??

funguymon: below is a video link about what you mentioned. NOT for the weak of heart, seeing all those guns turned over and then destroyed, the people protested the whole thing AFTER the fact, when they no longer had their guns. SAD STORY !

funguymon,I have a friend in Arkansas doing life for killing a would be burgular. This thief was crawling through my friends window with a handgun. My friend stabbed him in the neck.He had a wife and 3 kids in the house. My point being is that I am also proud of this bill passing. But A good part of the country is still ignorant.I guess that is their fault or problem.I wished the whole country could be like Montana! grannysgadgets, hope your sons will also come to the tea party. Also i didnt mean to waste your time last night.i want to paste stuff. But the plain fact is is that i dont kwow how.I have never had a computer before. And i have only had this one since the beginning of this semester.I have always worked construction before. This computer stuff is all new to me.And i know someone on this forum will bust my chops for this.I guess that is the way it goes.

Sadly, Arkansas drank the trademarked “Klintons’ Kommunist Kool-Aid” long ago.
My Arkansas relatives, big Democrats, are going to lose the family farm if Obama’s food initiative passes, so they’re starting to wake up. This latest anti-Second Amendment ploy of the Democrats in Arkansas has them ready to take to the streets. If that passes, most of Obama’s support in Arkansas will be gone overnight, since they were the power that got Clinton in the governor’s mansion and helped put him in the White House. Without them, Obama would probably have lost Arkansas.
Too late for them, though. No matter what they do in the future, they will always regret supporting this socialist scum.
By freeMONTANA on 04-01-09
I heard a “rumor” that Sen. Ryan Zinke helped gut some of this bill.
Funguymon…..you going to the Tea Party at Depot Park?
By L Elliott on 04-01-09
It’s good to see this get through the senate, and hopefully the senate and house will sort out any differences.
The idea that some dimwitted prosecutor thinks you’ve committed a crime because you’ve defended yourself, your family, or other innocents boggles my mind. Let’s hope that the final bill is clear enough so that self defense looked at instead of manslaughter or murder.

Littlehawk : I should hope no one wants to judge a person on how long they have owned a computer ! I know many that still do not, to each his own !Now on pasting a web address, look at the very top of your page, the bar just before the refresh button usaully starting with http://www that .,is the web page address. If you right click that( right side clicker of the mouse), it will ask you cut, copy, delete etc.. Click copy. Then when you are on a page that you want to paste the address to you right click again, and click paste.
Last night was not a waste of time at all, although I dont believe that I came across the video you were suggesting, there was SO many, that I was not sure which ! Hope this helps, that way you can get that web page address to me so I can check it out !

@grannysgadgets: You asked about HB246; it passed a 2nd reading by the Senate 27-23, and is going for a 3rd reading tomorrow.
By grannysgadgets on 04-02-09
JB: thank you for the info ! Lets hope this one sails through as well !!!
By JB on 04-02-09
@grannygadgets: It should; there hasn’t really been a whole lot of debate on HB246, surprisingly enough.
By grannysgadgets on 04-02-09
Well that cant happen soon enough for me !Probably wont be signed into law until this fall ?
By Dudley on 04-02-09
Its sad that we need this protection bill as our Constitution already allows us to protect ourselves. It shows that the crooked politicians dont honor the Constitution anyway. Most of them are traitors. Democraps are IDIOTS!

I thought Schweitzer said he’d veto HB246.I hope not, of course, but it wouldn’t surprise me.
And if he doesn’t, Obama will find a way around it, using Holder and Feinstein as shills.
Like he finds ways around that pesky Constitution he’s making into Swiss cheese.
By littlehawk12 on 04-02-09
Anyone want to read it who hasnt?http://data.opi.mt.gov/bills/2009/billhtml/HB0246.htm

How is it that littlehawk12 is so pro war and guns and right to kill a burgular and at the same time so outspoken about abortion??? Seems very hypocritical to be allowed to kill a person after they are born but not before!!
By L Elliott on 04-03-09
Jennifer, maybe it’s because the unborn child has done no wrong except maybe being conceived by a couple of dolts who figure that having sex should be totally without consequences. A burgular (sic) at night may be killed at any time according to Cicero. Hypocrisy has nothing to do with it.
I find if very hypocritical that supporters of abortion find that self defense is somehow wrong. Killing an innocent is somehow justified, but killing an intruder is somehow not justifiable? Maybe you’ve never had your domicile broken into or been otherwise assaulted?
By democratsarefascists on 04-03-09
Don’t forget people.April 15th, you have at least five Montana cities to choose from, so:
BE AT THE TEA PARTY!
Missoula
Bozeman
Billings
Kalispell
Glendive
(Where’s Helena? Good question.)
Oh, and to Jennifer:
Why do you think Democrats want to keep criminals alive and safe from justice?
Why do you think they want decent people to just give up and die?
Why do you think they want illegal immigrants (including Hamas and Hezbollah operatives) pouring across our border?
Why do you think, as in Maryland, they want to give illegals driver’s licenses?
Votes.
Votes and Moter Voter registration.
Votes and unopposable power.
They know that criminals and illegals vote Democrat.
It’s not an issue of compassion for the Democrats.
Once they have those votes, you can forget about “pro-life” forever. Pro lifers will be laughed out of public life.
Abortion will be the norm, as it is in all socialist countries.
Executions will be the norm, too, as it is in all socialist countries.
Read Bill Ayers.
You’ll find out how Fuehrer Obama feels about letting freedom fighters and the unindoctrinate live.
By littlehawk on 04-03-09
@ Jennifer If you think i am pro- war you need to look at those videos again.

To all Montanans: Keep fighting for what is right. Being from Pennsylvania but wishing I were in Montana, I appreciate that there is still some logic used in the decision making there. Don’t let the libs take what you have as they’re trying to do everywhere else, including here. I Absolutely love your part of the world and hope to reside there at some point in my life. The comments made by democratsarefascists may sound ludicrous or insane to some but he is ABSOLUTELY CORRECT in his assessment. The dems are going to see to it that they never relinquish the power that they now have. It wouldn’t surprise me if they attempt to give mexico and cuba statehood in an effort to gain their votes. Keep your eyes open and think rationally and long term.
By JB on 04-05-09
Good news!! The Senate passed a 2nd reading 73-27 on HB228!! It should be signed off very soon now. Also, the final version of HB246 is completed and going through the signature loop this week, so if all goes well, that one will be signed into law very soon.
By ron on 04-05-09
I would love a tea party in Helena…..but there are to many libs in town. Who could we get a hold of to set one up?
By grannysgadgets on 04-05-09
JB : AWESOME !!!! Boy that makes a already great day that much better ! <two thumbs up> How long do you think the last process will take ? (Sorry, it’s just almost like Christmas !! LOL)
Flyfishpa : It is scarey times, I spend alot of time reading headlines, thinking I better read that again, cant be possible, BUT sadly it is ! I see by your name you choose, you would be one to love Montana !!
By JB on 04-05-09
I would say no more than a week, two at the outside; this is based on other bills that have arrived at this stage in the process. This is good news indeed - enjoy the rest of your wonderful day!
By Cowgirl up on 04-05-09
ron…go to their website…new american tea party…all the info. you need is posted.Great news!!! HB246 has passed!!!! You made my day JB!
By JB on 04-05-09
Not quite, cowgirl, HB246 needs to go through the signature loop…the govenor can still veto it. Don’t think he will, but you never know…
By Cowgirl up on 04-06-09
oops! Thanks JB.
By Notanidiotlikeyou on 04-07-09
You people are all retarded. You try to turn important issues into the left/right wing circus they’ve bullied you into.
THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LEFT AN RIGHT WING
Both sides want to take your freedom away and cash it in to the global banking interests. You waste your time arguing about abortion or dems vs rebublicans. That is EXACTLY what they want. Stop fighting your fellow americans and start fighting the global banking interests that have been screwing this country over since before the great depression.
You’re all so proud of yourselves for telling off those silly ‘gun hating liberals’ that you totally miss the trap you’ve fallen into.
The next time you start to blame a democrat or a republican for something wrong in your life, think about how it came to be that way, and who benefits from your hatred. Stop being puppets. Grow up and defend democracy already.
By grannysgadgets on 04-07-09
notanidiotlikeyou: You may have gotten your threads confused…. There is no argument on this one about democrats nor republicans ! As I look around on this page I see NO retards ( bad word to use anyhow !) I see a BUNCH of people happy about a couple of bills that is very close to passing ! Some people get SO bitter that they view everything as such ! I think there are other places you can spew your anger ! Here in Montana were about ready to celebrate ! I would also advise that it is better to defend democracy with words of knowledge, developing brotherhoods/ sisterhoods, and finding each others common grounds…..... Calling them puppets, immature, and that R word is NOT how you do it !
By democratsarefascists on 04-07-09
@Notanidiotlikeyou
There most definitely is a difference.
You don’t hear Republicans talking about taking away the only means the people have to resist tyranny, do you?
When a Republican runs for office and say he supports the Second Amendment, you don’t see him admitting he LIED about that after the election, like Obama, do you?
I don’t subscribe to this conspiracy theory that says it doesn’t matter how you vote, because they’re all working for the Bilderbergers, or the Templars, or the aliens, or whatever.
By littlehawk12 on 04-08-09
@democratsarefscist.Hope you wake up.It is as plain the wrighting on the wall.Global gov is coming on strong.the Global currency prospect is mainstream media. The higher echelons in our gov work work for the central banks. And they do what their told or die.N.W.O is real.Whether you want to believe it or not.And it is a selection not an election.
