Thank you Mr. Skinner, for adding some back up to what I have been saying in comments.  And lets, not forget the ladies in the town of El Portal, just outside of Yosemite Park. It’s a place like West Glacier.  And remember, the right to carry was there all ready. They are not “allowing” us to do something, they are cleaning up the mistaken notion that the federal government can try to tell us otherwise, and pass some regs and rules.  However a lot can happen in nine months. I just hope this wasn’t a case of throwing us a bone, to stop the barking, all the while knowing full well that future events will make it a non issue.

Nice job of manipulating the statistics to make the world look the way you want it to look. How are things in bizarro world by the way?

I’m not happy at the prospect of people in campgrounds and especially on trails in the backcountry marching along with a 30/06 or 12 gauge shotgun for self-defense from bears. On the other hand, I think that, legally, the Coburn ammendment was the right call. The only question is why didn’t Congress step in sooner—decades sooner—and tell the NPS and other bureaucrats they can’t write a rule that supercedes the law and the constitution.

I may be mistaking but it seems to me that only those with concealed weapons permits will be allowed to carry in the parks, with that being said I do not believe that they will be conceal carrying 30-06 rifles, nor 12 guage shotguns.  Would make the most reasonable choice would be their pistols/revolvers…...
I dont mind at all, I believe that someone armed that is a good citizen would be an asset to have just about the time something bads going down !!!!
