Floods are always good.  I like floods as a matter of fact.  They, like wildfires are an integral part of the cycle in nature.  Floods do two very important things:

1.) They clean out the waterways of debris and silt build up improving habitat and overall stream health.
2.) They show stupid humans where NOT to build.

If you become victim to a flood of the major rivers here in the Flathead, please re-evaluate where you built your home or business.  Also, it is my hope that none of you are insured as well.  Why should those of us wise enought to build on high ground pay extra insurance to make up for the insurance company losses that were secondary to the morons that built there houses on a flood plain?

There were many good floods in history, some from rivers, others from storm surges.  New Orleans was and A+ flood in my book.  I really care less if that offends you at all.  Any mid west flood is good.  Long story short:  Floods are good.

Next time you build, by a $3.00 USGS topo map.  See ya.
