GNP numbers to increasing home purchases in many communities, indicate the economy is growing.Knowledgeable observers, from Economic Advisors to Congress and the President, accept unemployment will continue to grow.
Employers will donate overtime to keep their jobs intact.
FDR had 3-Million men in (CCC), and 2-Million in (WPA).
Despite massive efforts starting in 1932, and a near total change in government structures, the Great Depression continued..
Only the massive effort for the war ended the depression in many parts of the country.
Office of Price Administration restrictions on the price of farm and ranch products, and severe rationing of trucks, equipment, tires, gasoline and other basics for the farms and ranches meant extension of the depression for many regions to the1950s.
90%+ of those who lived and worked on the land in 1928, are no longer there.
Every major government either owns industrial production facilities, their products—or seriously subsidizes the production for international trade.
Facing that one reality, there is no way to erase U.S. Federal government participation in the economy.
The self-serving bankers and corporate officers made sure of that.
They steered their juggernauts off the cliff, then in Summer, 2008, ran to D.C., imploring Pres. Bush, Shotgun Cheney and Congress for a “bail out.”
Even then, they were more than a year behind the beginning of what became a deep recession and global financial industry meltdown.
Has this administration made mistakes in modifications to the Bank and Auto bailouts.
Absolutely—in the face of heated opposition, Pres. Obama and his adminstration failed to require complete replacement of Executives Officers and Boards of Directors of all banks and companies receiving bail out funds.
Several of those banks, receiving $50-Billion and more, used YOUR MONEY, to make multi-Billion dollar “guaranteed high return” loans and stock investments in Chinese Energy firms and other risky ventures.
Bank of American received more than $12-Billion to purchase bankrupt Merrill-Lynch.
B of A president Lewis, approved M-L executives awarding themselves more than a BILLION DOLLARS in bonuses, out of M-L’s meager reserves, for themselves and the other failed managers.
Consider the bailout program, started in Sept, 2008 requires your personal backing of more than $100,000 in subsidies for incompetent managers and bankrupt firms—TO BIG TO FAIL.
The decline has essentially been stopped in nine months of the present administration—- as compared with nine years and counting for the Great Depression. on men were working in two federal programs.

We do not have two political parties in this country. We have one party; called the Big Government Party. The Republican wing likes deficits, war, and assaults on civil liberties. The Democratic wing likes wealth transfer, taxes, and assaults on commercial liberties. Both parties like power; and neither is interested in your freedoms. Think about it. Government is the negation of freedom. Freedom is your power and ability to follow your own free will and your own conscience. The government wants you to follow the will of some faceless bureaucrat.
When Congressman James Clyburn, the third ranking Democrat in the House, was asked “Where in the Constitution the federal government is authorized to regulate everyone’s healthcare?”, he replied that most of what Congress does is not authorized by the Constitution, but they do it anyway. There you have it. Congress recognizes no limits on its power. It doesn’t care about the Constitution, it doesn’t care about your inalienable rights, it doesn’t care about the liberties protected by the Bill of Rights, it doesn’t even read the laws it writes.

JB. One slight flaw in your logic.Since Katrina including Iraq,et al—no-bid contracts for cronies have heaped HUNDREDS of BILLIONS on fat cat GOP buddies. Serious bottom-to-top wealth shifts.
WWII, corporate mines had OPA ore subsidies into 1946.
Workers wage controlled, farmers, cowmen and sheepmen price controlled.
Wealth distribution TO mine owners.
Subsdies ended, two-to-four year supply above ground—workers were unemployeed, while the owners enjoyed massive wealth redistribution.
Good ol’ Ike handed nuclear generation in the TVA area to his golfing buddy at Dixon-Yates. You and me paid D/Y $25-MILLION to buy the contract back.
Ike also arranged for you and me to buy a barge channel up the Delaware River above Philadephia, for cheap transportation for ONE U.S.S. Steel plant.
G.M. Chairman Charlie Wilson handed Ike’s Gettysburg Farm corporation the Mid-Atlantic Distributorship for Mid-Size G.M. trucks. Charlie got G.M. the key to the U.S. Treasury for DOD contracts. {Charlie was DOD Secretary and G.M. COB at the same time.]
JB ol’ top—That’s wealth redistribution in a big way—only from the bottom up to the top.
Unless you are a secret Flathead Billionaire we haven’t met—YOU contributed to wealth redistribution to Halliburton, Kellog-Brown and Root, Blackwater, et al.
KB&R—Identified by U.S. Army Auditors as having defrauded You & Me of $100-Million+, building barracks and other buildings, where dozens of our service people have been electrocuted. Paid $100 per man for 1200 calory food service.
40,000 U.S. Soldiers, Airmen and Marines in Afghanistan—70,000 Civilian security guards, each costing you and me more than $200,000 annually—wealth redistribution.
Of course, you aren’t one of those complaining Pres. Obama is taking time to research and think before sending our kids to get blown to bits—Rather than shooting from hip and lip without thinking.
Ol’ DubYah did manage to give us $5.50 /$6.00 gas and diesel, lots of body bags, wealth redistribution to Texas, a few million foreclosures, record bankruptcies and more national debt than all previous presidents combined.
That includes his Daddy—who left us with massive farm foreclosures, business/personal bankruptcies, Idaho’s Silver Belt Collapse, Bunker Hill Smelter’s smokeless stack, shut down timber and mining, silent drilling rigs, herd and flock sell offs and our kids leaving for the cities.and more debt than all previous presidents combined.
Unlike after Hoover, U-Hauls, with few mattress hooks in sight.
Just another form of wealth distribution—all the Rural States sending our best and brightest to the big cities.
We really appreciate having to drive three days to see our grandkids, who’ill never wake up in a roundup cow camp.
Montana wealth has been redistributed to banks, insurance companies and Ted Turner.
At least Turner has mostly been paying market price and doing something positive for Montana and the Rural West.
