Comments on: Kalispell Mayor Endorses Hillary Clinton for President

By No Blood for Oil on 05-15-08

Pam Kennedy is a fool.  What a fool.  I assume that she supports Hillary’s pro-war, pro-interventionist foreign policy as well.  I would also assume that she supports the Hillary Clintons economically destructive monetary policies of spending America into debt!  That would explain the current debt crisis that Kalispell is running into.  If Pam runs the city the same way the past few administrations have run the government that would explain our fiscal crisis.  Hey Pam, wake up and smell the dead bodies in Iraq that Hillary voted for and continued to support.  Hillary also wants a pre-emptive nuclear strike on Iran!  Are you Pam Kennedy supportive of a nuclear strike on Iran, right now?  Are you?  Why would Pam Kennedy support a candidate that would love to draft every of age citizen in Kalispell to send them to die in the middle east?  That is Hillary’s policy if you read it thoroughly. Hillary is bought and paid for by the Israel Lobby.  Hillary will entangle the US in the middle east crisis the same as McCain will.  What a blood-thirsty, naive fool you are Pam Kennedy.

By Like this matters on 05-15-08

Wow, like anyone actually cares about Pam Kennedy’s “endorsement.” Obama gets John Edwards, and Clinton gets Pam Kennedy. What a coup.

By Obama '08 on 05-15-08

Well it could be worse, she could have joined the delusional and waved a Ron Paul sign at traffic.  Or she could have stepped the craziness up a notch and went full tilt Nader.

By Dr Arthur Frederick Ide on 05-15-08

Hillary Clinton has 8 years in the US Senate--Obama 2. Hillary Clinton has been involved in the political life of the USA for 35 years--Obama 4. Clinton has far greater rapport with the allies of the USA than does Obama. Clinton is substance--far more important than the hollow style and meaningless slogans of Obama. As a life-long Democrat and former chair of the Hardin Iowa County Democrats, I know Hillary who came to visit with little time to plan; Obama turned us down. Hillary cares about people. Obama cares only about his place in history--and like Bush feels he has a destiny--one that is to be handed to him without any questions asked. Michelle Obama has publicly stated she has never been proud to be an American. Bill Clinton has always been proud to be an American--as is his wife. Obama’s pastor says his god has damned America with 9/11, and calls the nation the US-KKKA. Clinton’s pastor says that his god, and the god of Hillary loves the USA. Only a total fool would vote for Obama and his rants and the terrorist tactics of Team Obama--that called me three times to threaten to set my house on fire if I did not endorse and support their leader. I will never support Obama as terrorism has no place in the USA.

By jarrett on 05-15-08

All Obama wants to do is win , He will blow smoke up your azz all day to get your vote,So when you get him in the white house dont cry about it later. Reverse racesam youll see”

By patty on 05-15-08

Hillary clinton is the best candidate for the job on day one. I bet you if all of obamas skeletons were out of the basket around Iowa he would be long gone with his racist wife and then he would not have to be hiding his pastor. Don’t think for a minute he has thrown him under the bus, not after a relationship for 2o plus years. Plus his other associations with his shady friends. I think there is a lot people don’t know yet but they will. He is also a liar. Who is this guy, we still know nothing about him and what change is he talking about. The americans will be sorry with this flawed candidate.

By patty on 05-15-08

Did you ever notice that when someone says something about obama that does not look so good for him, he pouts. What would he do in a situation at the White House, cry and hide. He is ridiculous. Just like today with pres bush. He was for once right. You can not talk with terrorists. What would obama have to say to the leader of Iran without conditions, no less. The man is a terrorist. He wants Israel wiped off the map. Someone needs to teach obama a thing or 2 about foreign policy. Thats why we need to elect Senator Hillary Clinton and if she is not the nominee then I will as a democrat for the first time vote republican.

By Roark on 05-15-08

Geez!-what a shocker. Pam Kennedy is the most incompetent mayor I have ever seen.-a socialist dirtbag.

By Hapyy Democrat on 05-15-08

Good news!  American needs Senator Clinton!  She is a true patriot.

By Citizen on 05-15-08

Bill Clinton bombed innocents in Bosnia, and turned handing out food in Africa, into a full tilt combat mission.  Democrats and Republicans both are pro-war and pro-big government as long as it is their party in charge.  Hillary Clinton is bought and paid for by the Israel Lobby and plans to engage Iran possibly with a pre-emptive nuclear strike as she has STATED!  Obama wants war with Pakistan.  Both democrats are pro-war.  McCain is Pro war for life!  That guy wants war all day every day, which explains why Ron Paul recieved more donations from active military personnel than ANYBODY ELSE!  And that is a fact.  Vote peace vote Ron Paul.  Hillary = war.  Obama = war.  McCain = 100 years of war.  Paul = Peace and prosperity.  It doesn’t matter however.  In several years the dollar will be worthless, your job gone, your house foreclosed, and gas will be seven bucks.  America will descend into inflationary economic doom as the federal reserve prints more and more useless dollars.  Interes rates will fall further, causing a complete shut down of investment capital into the industries and financial sectors.  Labor will be wiped out by the halt of capital and we will have an economy that rivals perhaps Bulgaria.  SO go ahead and vote for the social programs that are leading to the debt of our nation.  Vote to borrow trillions.  In 10 years according to Mr. Walker, head accountant of the US government (retired 1 yr), we will face a 58 trillion dollar deficit and have no way to repay it.  You are all naive, ignorant and screwed.  So spend today what you cannot repay tomorrow.  May the future bring you all a hole in your belly of infinite hunger, may your children and their children starve because of the decisions you make today.  Americans consumes at five times the rate of the other people on earth.  You will soon consume less or the same.  All things reach equilibrium at some point.  Today you are the richest you will ever be.  Poverty will come upon you as a roaring lion.  Read and educate yourselves.

Buy some rice.

By Dr Arthur Frederick Ide on 05-16-08

Dear By Citizen: You need to check your facts. The price of rice, like all other food, is up worldwide--not because of supply and demand, but because of financial speculation. I lived in Texas for 30 years when Ron Paul was the darling of the Libertarian Party, and advocated the removal of all restrictions on prices including food, gas, and housing--believing in the erroneous concept of a Divine Hand (Adam Smith) would sweep over the land and allow everyone equal opportunities. This never happened in history (or in the bible) as there have always been poor (the majority) and rich (the bare minority) as there has always been war. Bill Clinton wanted to invade Afghanistan to capture Osama bin Laden (whose family are close friends of the Bush family, and whose brother Samuel built the Binladen airport outside of San Antonio), but the GOP congress refused to let Clinton go after bin Laden as his family were close to the Saudi royal family and their oil holdings which were being melding into the wealth of Cheney’s Halliburton oil.

Americans do buy too much oil and spend it on high motor speeds and needless boating, but that is freedom of choice. This was escalated by Ronald Reagan, among the worse presidents in USA history, who had Donald Rumsfeld install Saddam Hussein in Iraq after deposing its King, and at the same time (to win the 1980 election) allowed the return of the Ayatollah (arabic for archbishop) Khomenni to Iran and the ouster of American ally the Shah (emperor) who died in Egypt.

America has many myths (such as JFK being a great president who Ted and Carolyn Kennedy like to compare to Obama, yet JFK was a common adulterer who had women in the White House for sex, commissioned the abortive Bay of Pigs Invasion, intensified the Cold War with Russia, etc) but the worse myths of all is Obama and his hate filled pastor Jeremiah Wright whose god “damn[ed] the US-KKKA” as “white people created AIDS to kill black people” and his wife, Michelle, who has “never been proud to be an American” == and John McCain who feels it necessary to have war in Iraq at least until 2013 or (as he said earlier “for 100 years more") and Ron Paul who has introduced no significant piece of legislation, wants to remove all safeguards (social security) for the elderly and the young, and feels that public works are unnecessary as they are socialistic.

The only real American worthy of the White House is Hillary Clinton--a woman with compassion and energy, who always has loved the USA, who has worked for all women and men, stands behind labor, and is internationally respected not only in Israel but most of the Moslem world including Lebanon and Indonesia, Malaysia and Qatar, etc. You, sir, should study history and read mythology for pleasure. Your education is sorely lacking. I would be proud if Kalispel were my mayor, at least she is able to see reality and push for a positive future, while Daschle and other Democrats in SD who have endorsed Obama want a return to a failed past. I will vote for Hillary.

By jarrett on 05-16-08

Who cairs about Pam Kennedy,The point is that Obama has no experience’ He tells the American people that he will be President and everything will be allright, anyone who has any common sense knows that there is more to it then that.Mr Obama is racial, I lived in Gary, Indiana for 37 years and beleave me there is alot of racism there! Rev.Wrights church taught racism. And just in case you don’t know the meaning of racism” it means"A thought or belief that one race is better than another race” Obamas chruch would pass out fliers stateing how black people were better than whites,I remember when my husband and i divorced i had to go get help at DHS in Gary,Indiana I was the only one out of two white people there trying to get help,I had nothing no food to feed my kids crying, nobody there caired’ I watched black people walk in wearing mink coats, driving 40 and 50 thousand dollar cars, there kids wearing 200 dollar shoes,100 dollar cloths, me , my holly jeans worn out shoes and no pot to piss in, and by the way they got help, food stamps, light bill paid,.....ect. Me nothing they said because my soon to be ex had two thousand dollars in his bank account, but that wasn’t the real reason , it was because i’am white! So you people that are voting Obama in wake up!. Remember he has been inspired to wright two books becasuse of Rev.Wright who is a racest!. So i think I’ll just stay home and cling to my guns, and my faith in God.

By Muncie on 05-16-08

I cannot for the life of me understand the thinking of those who are supporting Obama. Its as if these people have closed off their minds from rational thoughts, & have become radicals. The majority of his supporters, especially the 18-28 are looking for a camp where they can expulsed their radical beliefs & found “home” in the Obama’s camp. This man has no substance, every policy he talks about is a close copy of what Hillary has been pushing throughout her campaign. He stumbles & mumbles when he is caught off guard reminding me of our present President. The reality of what we (Democrats) are witnessing is a sexist movement by the so-called male elites to destroy Hillary because of their “fear” of having a strong woman as their leader. Ask yourself this question, “who are the superdelegates jumping ship to endorse Obama?, all men”.These are men who have shown that “ with friends like them, Hillary does not need any enemies”. They languished the fact of Hillary continuing her campaign, & what it’s doing to the Democratic Party, as if they care a damn about the party. If they do, they would support a candidate who has all of the qualifications to win against McCain, but instead they support a flawed man they know cannot win, as long as they hurt Hillary. They are all self-serving hypocrites!.

To give you an idea of how arrogant they are, they really do believe that “we Hillary’s supporters” are going to let bygones be bygones & fall in line with them in November. How crazy is that thinking?. Do they think for a moment that we will easily forget all of the betrayals, insults, embarassment & disrespect they all thrown @ her in their zeal to get their protegee elected?. “NO WE WONT!”. To many of us the Democratic Party is the Clintons, & because of what we are witnessing by those who call themselves “party elites” it is not a party that deserve Hillary’s supporters. There will be NO UNITY, because of the ugly & vicious words that were hurled @ her.  Since their superdelegate votes are SO POWERFUL then let them without her supporters vote their protegee into the White
House. They used their endorsements to insult her everytime they stood in front of the camera & expect us to forget about that?,” NO WE WONT!”.

By Tobias on 05-16-08

Senator Clinton remains now as she has always been the most qualified to be president.  She has been railroaded by the press and the left wing of the Democratic Party.  This race is not over and we can and will take it all the way to convention.  Obama is not qualified to be president and he is unelectable. If we truly want to win back the White House we need to vote Democratic smart, vote Clinton.

By Sherri on 05-16-08

I will not vote for Obama for any office. Hillary is our only chance at winning and getting our country back on track!

By Ann in Ohio on 05-16-08

There are so many great posts here, I hardly know what to add. Be assured that if Hillary gets the nomination that she rightfully deserves, we, in Ohio will continue to campaign for her none stop.  Before our state primary I heard her twice and rallies and also President Bill at another rally.  Sen. Clinton
is fantastic.  She explains her plans very well and is in it for ALL Americans.  We must push her on, all the way to the convention!  She has proven that she is the “Lady of Steel.”

VOTE CLINTON and WIN for America

By Kentucky Voters on 05-16-08

Get ready, Kentucky, to join WV and have a huge
landslide for Hillary Clinton.  She is the best qualified
candidate in this race on either side.

“OHIO” Get the word out vote Hillary” Tell your friends tell everyone you meet to put a real person in the white house who cairs about the american people all the people black and white. Call your senaters tell them you want Hillary!

By NO HILLARY AT ALL EVER!!!!! on 05-16-08

So if a woman is married to a Brain Surgeon, is she qualified to perform brain surgery?  Hillary was the wife of a president.  So what!  She has been a senator, so has Obama.  I am sick of hearing of this supposed 35 years of experience.  If anything all that means is that she has 35 years of experience in the same corrupt system that has placed America where it is today.  We need new blood and new ideas.  She is just a Neo-con in democrat clothing.  She voted for the unjust war in Iraq, continues to support it and wants a war in Iran.  Hillary is blood thirsty and dangerous.  THe only candidates I support are number ONE Ron Paul and next in line would be Obama.  NO HILLARY AT ALL!!!

By CHERYL SOTO on 05-16-08

THANK GOD SHE MAD THE RIGHT CHOICE! Hilary will be a great president, unlike Obama has terrorist, anti-american & racist friends.

By Roark on 05-16-08

In November I will be voting AGAINST Obama, not for McCain.

By Vic from Oregon on 05-17-08

I have to say, WOW!  This is one of the few blogs I’ve been on that works to dispel the many urban legends surrounding the Clinton’s.  The right and left got upset because Bill took the party to the middle.  Ever since then, any all possible heinous acts and crimes have been attributed to them.  It’s called character assassination, and most people recognize it for what it is.  But, I am still constantly amazed at the denigrating claims made about Sen. Clinton, who is known as one of the hardest working, include-both-sides-of-the-aisle, successful senators in recent history.  That fact, of course, is unpalatable for Obama supporters.

There are few that can compare with her public service, her grasp of issues, and the true respect she has among her constituents and peers outside the rumor mills.

I have to agree with the blogger regarding JFK.  He made a lot of really bad decisions.  Fortunately for us, he had some good advisors that spoke up from time to time, otherwise, we all might not be here having this little chat.  But, he could be a good motivational speaker.  For many people, this is enough to be considered an excellent choice to run the country. Take Ronald Reagan, as the earlier blogger suggests.  He was dubbed the “great communicator” by the press.  The Teflon President by his detractor.  The media loved him.  We are still recovering from his tenure.

Sen. Obama, too, has some strengths he can bring to the office of president, but his most salient feature is that he can work a crowd.  We’re back to the public speaker thing again. I believe I read this on a blog, and it sums it up for me - if I wanted a floorshow, I’d go to Vegas.

By Vic from Oregon on 05-17-08

Sorry! Correction.  Chris Beam from Trailhead at Salon, not Chris Marsh.

By Dr Arthur Frederick Ide on 05-17-08

If the unthinkable, unforgiveable, odious opportunism should occur and Obama win the nomination, it is up to real Democrats to immediately begin circulating petitions to put Hillary on every ballot in in every state as a write-in for President. We, the average Joes in the USA, know that only Hillary can save us from the Obamacrats and the continuing war machine of the GOP and McCain. Hillary is able to speak logically with our allies, not with terrorists as Obama would do. Hillary has had 8 successful and powerful years in the USA senate and initiated and cosponsored major legislation from rights for school children to protection of the elderly--while Obama has 2 years in the senate learning the ropes. God, country, and Hillary!

By Hillary is the War Machine on 05-17-08

Hillar is part of the WAR MACHINE!!!  Wake up.  The woman is totally pro-war!  Pro- preemptive war at that.  She even wants a nuclear first strike on Iran!  If hillary is elected I guarantee we will see war with Iran, Syria and perhaps more.  Draft is certain, and perpetual war our future.  Vote peace, vote Ron Paul.

By Dr Arthur Frederick Ide on 05-17-08

Ron Paul is pro-peace? Ron Paul is anti-war FUNDING and anti-Patriot Act, but lousy on the environment. Democratic Congressman and Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich is anti-war, anti-Patriot Act, and great on the environment.

It is odd that Rep. Ron Paul claims to be a strict Constitutionalist yet does not co-sponsor the bill that would impeach Cheney. Impeachment is the Constitutional remedy for these flagrant abuses of power.

Libertarians (which Paul is) are supposed to be “pro-choice” but Rep. Paul supports making abortion a “states rights” issue. States Rights has been the rallying cry for anti-civil rights people for decades. Making civil rights and other rights an issue solely for the States to determine means that some places in the United States will have more liberties than other places, which negates the concept of a federal republic. While there are arguments for breaking up our federal system into decentralized bioregional governments, this is not what Ron Paul is arguing for.

http://www.911review.com/articles/bov/RonPaul_08.html

Paul is a racist. Paul was more blunt writing in his independent political newsletter distributed to thousands of supporters in 1992. Citing statistics from a study that year produced by the National Center on Incarceration and Alternatives, Paul concluded: “Given the inefficiencies of what DC laughingly calls the criminal justice system, I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal.” Reporting on gang crime in Los Angeles, Paul commented: “If you have ever been robbed by a black teen-aged male, you know how unbelievably fleet-footed they can be.”

Paul is against any woman having any control over her own reproductive ability. Paul is quite vocal these days about his rank opposition to abortion-"life begins at conception,” he argues. He promotes a “states’ rights” position on abortion-that decades old hobgoblin of civil rights opponents. And he has long opposed sexual harassment legislation, writing in his 1988 book Freedom Under Siege (available online), “Why don’t they quit once the so-called harassment starts?” In keeping with his small government worldview, he goes on to argue against the government’s right “to tell an airline it must hire unattractive women if it does not want to.”

Paul also opposes equal pay for equal work, a minimum wage, and, naturally, trade unions. In 2007, he voted against restricting employers’ rights to interfere in union drives and against raising the federal minimum wage to $7.25. In 2001, he voted for zero-funding for OSHA’s Ergonomics Rules, instead of the $4.5 billion. At least he’s consistent.

Paul says he is for strict individualism. To advocate for society to be organized on the basis of strict individualism, as libertarians do, is to argue that everyone has the right to do whatever he or she wants. Sounds nice in the abstract, perhaps. But what happens when the desires of one individual infringe on the desires of another? Libertarians like Paul don’t shy away from the logical ramifications of their argument. “The dictatorial power of a majority” he argues ought to be replaced by the unencumbered power of individuals-in other words, the dictatorial power of a minority.

So if the chairman of Dow Chemical wants to flush his company’s toxic effluence into rivers and streams, so be it. If General Motors wants to pay its employees starvation wages, that’s their right too. Right-wing libertarians often appear to not want to grapple with meddlesome things like economic and social power. As the bourgeois radical Abraham Lincoln observed of secessionist slaveowners, “The perfect liberty they seek is the liberty of making slaves of other people.”

Finally, Paul is chaotic at best. “Complaints against “big government” and “over-regulation,” though often justified, also issue from the privileged who are frustrated at finding that their quest for still greater privileges at the expense of their community are curtailed by a government which, ideally, represents that community. Pure food and drug laws curtail profits and mandate tests as they protect the general public.”

Ron Paul as President would be as bad and damaging as an Obama or McCain presidency. The only hope for the USA is Hillary Clinton

By No Clinton on 05-18-08

I can no longer stay quite. I am tired of people comparing Obama to his friends. I am sure everyone on here has a friend they don’t see eye to eye with on their views and beliefs. I am sure everyone on here will admit there are times they do not agree with their pastor in his/her beliefs. As far as I can see Obama is the better choice between Clinton and himself. Hillary not only let her husband humiliate her in front of the American people with Monica but she stays with a man who shows little respect for her in his cheating ways. Has everyone also forgotten the White Water situation with the Clinton’s. I for one do not want to see another Clinton in the White House. They can not be trusted, I really hope everyone stops and remembers the things the Clinton’s have been involved in before voting for Hilary.

By Sherri on 05-18-08

The reality is we are judged by our relationships. I personally would not be friends with someone who bombed anything!!! Nor would I sit under a pastor who had racial issues and listen to such prejudices (especially would not allow my children to hear such ugliness!) You say we all have a friend we don’t agree with, true but when you have SEVERAL of those friends with the same mindset, it should be a flag that maybe that person does share the same views. I don’t hang with people that are skinheads, you know why? Because I am not of their mindset!!! Have you forgotten millions of our tax dollars were spent to find something on the Clintons and they were found INNOCENT! All that money only to find a spot on a dress (none of our business actually, between God, him and his family as to his sex life! Do you know your boss’s sex life?) As a married woman of 28 years, I find it inspiring to stand by your vows. “For better or worse” ...worse is always far more than you imagine! She kept her family together and for that she has my respect, not judgement. I wish people like you truly did a search on Hillary, and you would find far more good than bad. How would you compare to her life long hard work of helping others (beginning at the age of 14, starting childcare for immigrants! What were you doing at 14?) You speak as though you are young and navive, just like Obama. You have all the sound bites on Hillary from the republicians and that Obama camp has used on Hillary from the getgo (suppose that is his idea of new politics). I’m glad the youth are involved but deeply bothered by the fact they treat it like it’s “america Idol”. This “sweetie” will not be voting Obama!

By Dr Arthur Frederick Ide on 05-18-08

Whitewater Scandal was proven to be malicious slander--even Ken Starr, the prosecutor for the government, admitted that. Hillary had the good sense to defend herself against the conservative pundits.

By jarrett on 05-18-08

Well Bill might have humiliated Hillary by cheating on her , But i will say that that just shows how strong of a woman Hillary is. Because it takes a hell of a person to keep there family togather, and that just proves that she is a fighter, and that she put her family first. And i beleave that Hillary would make a wonderful President and would put the people first. So to you who can’t be quiet, Live around it then you’ll know better. I lived there in Chicago sub and i no how Obama and his chruch are, and they are racest people. And lets be real if Hillary Clinton was in a chruch where people were teaching hate about blacks and had kkk members, all hell would break loose. So go ahead kiss Obamas azz! He is a fake, and i think if all the states where able to re-vote again they would all vote Hillary. Like Rev. Wright sad, damn America, Well same to Obama!

By Vic from Oregon on 05-18-08

Public servants ARE judged by their relationships precisely because to whom and how they relate reflects their judgment and their priorities.  The problem for Obama is that Rezko, Wright, Ayers,...there is a sizeable list, are not just friends.  Each and all are professional contacts, financial backers, and not infrequently, beneficaries of Obama’s channeling of funds their way.  These are personal and professional relationships, some even intimate to the level of being considered a member of the family. People aspiring to represent us must, at the minimum, be as ethical and as forthcoming as the average citizen they seek to represent. When they fall below this level, and their office requires them to be above it to make good judgments, or see more clearly or farther, or be able to inspire us to be our best rather than our mediocre selves, they are no longer capable of leading any one, (at least until they see their mistakes and find their way again). This is the reason such relationshps are scrutinzed.  There’s nothing for it.  Any person wanting to hold public office or represent the public is necessarily held to a higher standard, whether they meet that standard in our eyes or not.

I don’t buy the argument that our standards for public office are too high.  This is the hidden implication in suggesting that we all have friends we don’t see eye to eye with.

In my many employment manifestations, I was executive director of non-profits.  This meant that, among many tasks, I had fiduciary responsibility.  Part of fulfilling that meant choosing what funding to seek, to allow, and to reject, in part based upon who the giver was - be that individual, charity, community organization, or government grants from taxpayers.  This wasn’t MY money to spread around, move here or there as I wished.  It was heavily monitored and I was answerable for my choices to any and all.  If a citizen wanted to see the books, it was their right and I would have to comply.  This is the way the public’s business is suppose to be conducted.

When community leaders, politicians, lobbyists, or lawyers begin to engage in too much qui pro quo, discreetly moving public money from one account to another, and lining their own nest at the expense of their constituents - an example is the slum housing in Obama’s district, where he got Rezko part of the money he needed to buy the low-icome housing projects where neither of the men followed through on many of the actual repairs while both men received noteworthy incomes from the deals - someone starts to notice this “I’ll scratch your back...pattern.  It’s called influence peddling.

And, in Rezko’s case, it’s called outright fraud. Obama is not implicated in the actual fraud as he had no fiduciary responsbility to carry out the contracts he helped Rezko receive while Obama was a lawyer and then a state senator.  But he did fail to oversee, or chose to ignore, this major project in his own district, never checking to see if the government contracts were being fulfilled or not. For many in his district and under his leadership and representation, it meant remaining in squallor in tenements that were frequently without running water, heat, or even electricity.

Obama engaged in influence peddling and he is answerable.  He also failed to uphold his office in this instance to the poorest and least powerful of his constituents.  This may have been due to a lack of experience, or due to a lack of vision, or due to any number of other factors.  Should we NOT take a closer look at a man who wants to be president of the United States who undeniably and indisputably bought his mansion, and later, a section of lot, with the help of Rezko’s wife in a district whose neighborhood adjoining his own saw little improvement under his direct tenure and governance?

You don’t have to go all the way to Illinois and read a newspaper to get this unattractive information, but you will not see it in the MSM until the republicans bring it up this fall should Obama win the nomination.  This isn’t some Whitewater land deal that took millions of dollars of taxpayer money and a special prosecutor to turn up absolutely nothing for all his enthusiasm and efforts. This is a well documented, filmed, reported, witnessed impropriety carried on over a period of years that was considered par for the course in Illinois politics.  Obama’s supporters and too many in the media didn’t want to take a closer look, and so it hasn’t been made into a bigger deal.  Until now.

If he hadn’t place such emphasis on his opponent’s “questionable character” as he and his surrogates so often hinted about Sen. Clinton, then I believe Sen. Obama would have stayed under the radar of public scrutiny and censorship.  But he didn’t.  In fact, he went beyond the inpugning of his opponents.  He campaigned as the ONLY candidate of impeccably good character who is above the fray and cesspool of power trading.  That is unfortunate, because, whether he wins the nomination or not, he will always have to try and live down such a claim.

He may now wish to rise above the politcal swamp, but as yet, he has failed to do so in my estimation.  THIS is why people say the refrain - “it’s just words” - when referring to Sen. Obama’s eloquent platitudes. It’s not that they don’t fervently desire the same wonderful world the Obama supporters envision.  It’s that they are trying to point to the man and his legislative career as a not-so-different politician conducting “business as usual”.

Mayor Kennedy doesn’t think.

By Citizen on 05-21-08

If Mayor Kennedy could “think” at all, she would do the following:

1.) Fire City Manager Jim Patrick.  AKA TERMINATE HIS POSITION.

2.) Be more involved with ensuring the needs of the community are placed above the needs of developers.

3.)Listen to the concerns of citizens about the city government and address those concerns with solutions, answers or atleast an excuse.  Communicate with us!

4.)Put public safety (Fire & Police) as a number one budget priority for the city of Kalispell.  Ensure, growth of the city is being done in more than the size of the borders.  We must also grow the agencies which protect our city.  They cannot continue to do the same job, in a bigger community which holds more citizens, and do it with the same resources they had 20 years ago.

5.)Parks would be forced upon all developers.  Ever been to Bozeman?  Every neighborhood that gets build gets a LARGE park that is gorgeous and perfect in many ways for the communities that surround them.  Parks, parks and parks.  You will never hear citizens complain about too many.  However we will always let you know when we have NONE!  There are only 3 to speak of and a few very, unsafe and inconvenient ones.  BUILD BETTER PARKS PAM! Hmmm that would make a good bumper sticker.

6.)Did I mention Fire Jim Patrick yet.  Just read about that guy on the other blogs of past.  I am not the only one with a low opinion of this overweight henchman.

7.) Less airport talk and start focusing on issues that the taxpayers care about.  Help us!  We are the ones that elect you people!
