Comments on: Kalispell Rep. Steenson Calls for Quick Federal Stimulus
Let’s be civil.
The Flathead Beacon encourages vigorous discussion and lively debate, but we will delete comments that attack other readers, make accusations we can’t verify, stray too far off topic, criticize local businesses (call them if you have a problem), convict someone of a crime, use profanity or are simply judged to be in bad taste. We don’t always have someone moderating comments, so we ask for your help: If you see a comment that violates these ground rules, or you simply deem it offensive, please e-mail webmaster [at] flatheadbeacon.com.

Conservation groups have called on Congress to create a Watershed Restoration Corps within the Forest Service funded at $500 million over the next two years to decommission forest roads, repair fish culverts and maintain forest roads for recreation.  We hear that this proposal has just been included in the US House’s proposed stimulus package. You can find out more specific information about the program here: http://wildwestinstitute.org/pdf/watershed_eco_stimulus_proposal.pdf .

It would be nice to see Montana’s elected officials also lend their support to this effort.

Kalispell freshman Rep. Cheryl Steenson is co-authoring a joint House and Senate resolution…asking for Congress to promptly pass an economic stimulus package. Steenson references how hard the Flathead has been hit with job losses over the last several months.”
—-True to leftist colors, Steenson believes (quite wrongly) that men are just so many cogs in a wheel meant to serve the “greater good”. To Steenson man has no right to his own life, but is only to serve others interests. That’s what bailout money is; YOUR money being taken by force from the government to be re-distributed by a government-crat as THEY see fit. But the question that is never asked is; WHY? Her leftist ideaology leaves her reasoning capacity handicapped at best and dangerous at worst. Her inability, like most politicians, to extrapolate consequences and objective morality makes her the most frightening of elected officials, they are the types who cannot use reason, but rather use subjectivism and emotions to further there agenda via the government.-never mind the effect this has on the individual and his rights, it’s the mob that matters to Steenson.———-“It only stands to reason that where there’s sacrifice, there’s someone collecting the sacrificial offerings. Where there’s service, there is someone being served. The man who speaks to you of sacrifice is speaking of slaves and masters, and intends to be the master.”-Ayn Rand

I agree with Roark. But this story only got print because of the leftist attitudes of the leftist owners of the Beacon - Maury Povich.

Steenson will introduce a bill proposing that Roark gets his very own island, for it seems that only if Roark (the not so independent man who depends upon his Ayn Rand alter) is given his own island apart from others, will he learn that yes, we are connected and need each other.

Oh please, U.S. Government; save us from ourselves! We want everything our way, waaaahhhhh! Gimmme gimme, I don’t want any consequences to my actions! Life isn’t fair; get over it. Throwing more taxpayers money at the problem will only delay the inevitable collapse. Oh, and this really hurts my self esteem. Please somebody make it all better.

The government taking money from individuals and redistributing it to others is called communism. That’s right folks, just stick that needle in a little farther. I stand by Roark and Patriot. If anyone is looking for small government and living by the Constitution, Ron Paul will make that change.
