There was also an effort to economicaly injure Stokes by intimidating advertisers. Having the advertisers names on a list at the Montana Human Rights website seemed like a low blow.
I went to that site the day Stokes left.
The list disappeared quietly.
It’s too bad the radio station turned out to be about just one man and not about an active listening audience.

People who can percieve the truth are used to the totalitarianism but to the average left wing head in the dirt liberal, or for a money headed right wing, might is right moron, it might be too big of a bite for them at one time.

Stokes’ demise was not about free speech as much as it was about capitalism. Doesn’t matter what the audience wanted or didn’t want, it was about making a money to stay afloat and Stokes made decisions that caused him to self-destructed. You have to pay your bills. What I find remarkable about Stokes is how long he hung on without paying his bills.

This could be a wake up call to his followers what most of us have known all along. Youtube is NOT an accurate source of information.

Mr. Testa is right on the money. When you don’t pay your bills, slander decent citizens on the air and behave like the rules of civilized society don’t apply to you, this is what happens. Stokes fits the classic definition of a sociopath. For a guy that preached taking responsibility for your actions Stokes sure is whining about taking his lumps.

Good article by Dan Testa, but he treats John Stokes too leniently. Stokes is a demagogue, a racist and a troublemaker and has always been so, even when he tried to organize a secessionist movement over in Washington State. It was our misfortune that he chose to come here and his principal contribution has been divisiveness, race and gender baiting and outright fraud. We also remain surprised that Stokes is still walking around loose if he was telling the truth when he claimed not to have paid federal or state income taxes for so many years. Of course, John Stokes and truth have never been properly introduced to one another, but judgement day is coming at last. The vast majority of us won’t miss him at all.

I have not seen any list of complaints about Stokes.

Like I said a while back bluedog, Stokes didn’t cost us very much, and the conspiratorial, paranoid, survivalists had a focus point for information, community issues, a place to express their frustation over issues of concern and a place to buy and sell. Stokes did his part trying to be a force for what he believed in and I do think he was improving as a human being considering his former background in real estate.
The EDGE offfered more than just John Stokes opinions.
I can accept that John got himself in trouble but I wonder how much was going on behind the scenes to assist in his demise?
The thing that gripes me, is when a group uses underhanded tactics like punish business’ that advertise on a radio that I listen to.

KGEZ doesn’t need to be back on the air. It appears that its fans have found a like-minded forum at the Daily Inter Lake. Has anyone been reading that newspaper’s columns lately? The editor is a good little KGEZian, with his shrill, ultra-right, government-hating hysteria. He seems to encourage slander and insults among his readers, as well. KGEZ is alive and well, just in a different medium.
