What should we do Russ?

Is Jim Dupont following legal counsel in this matter?

With this latest ruling in the Lakeside Neighborhood Plan case by District Court judge Stewart Stadler, property owners anywhere in Flathead County, not just in the Whitefish Doughnut, have no particular rights (property rights) that local governments must respect or even recognize. I might add that this was a ruling sought for by Jim Dupont’s county government, so no matter the rhetoric coming from that direction, don’t expect much help there1
What should we do? Well, it was we property owners that gave local governments the power to abuse us and ignore our Rights in the first place. Unless or until we are willing to take that power back, don’t expect anything to change. If we should have learned anything by the mess that is now called “Planning” in Flathead County today, it is this: We can’t depend on the politicians or the courts anymore…They have all become corrupted by a corrupt system.
Are the property owners and taxpayers in this county willing to stand up and say “enough is enough” ? If so, I don’t see it. So in answer to your question Westside 2, at this point in time I guess there is nothing we can do!

Sorry Westside2, I didn’t answer your other question: Is Jim Dupont following legal counsel in this matter? The answer is YES. The county commission is depending on legal advise from the office of the Flathead County Attorney. The same office that drew up and recommended the county’s approval of the Whitefish/County “Doughnut” agreement; The same office that advised the Lakeside Neighborhood Plan group to illegally destroy public records; the same county office that advised the county to conduct secret and illegal meetings away from the public’s prying eye’s in Lakeside; The same county attorney’s office that defended our last county planning director’s criminal activities by claiming that public employees were under no legal obligation to provide “honest public services”. Are you feeling better now Westside2 ?

Do they have “planning” donuts served at the council meetings? Now I’m hungry…..
