Mr. Hirst..I’m not sure if you’ve travelled outside the city limits of Libby, but surveillance cameras in public areas is not a new concept in Montana.  Your black helicopter and big brother theories are interesting….but (and this is going to hurt) no one, including your local government, cares what the residents of Libby are doing downtown, recorded or otherwise unless it involves public safety or protection of property.  I fail to see how surveillance camers (in public areas) is an infringement of your right to privacy.  The reason?  It’s not (see the 4th amendment to the Const.)  If the general public has a right to be there, then certainly so does the government.  Your dislike of being recorded or watched in these particular areas is a bit disturbing.  How does the saying go?  What you do when no one is looking says alot about who you are.

When did Libby get electricity? Will cameras run on the generator that serves Libby?  Oh my gosh, what’s next?
People importing binoculars from Sandpoint?

Really now:

@cody23 nailed it.  Live your life like you are on camera unless you are a dirt bag then you will be on Cops TruTV or Geraldo despite having a video record of your actions.

There is a upside.

I heard the Libby cops are trying to catch the drug and beer suppilers on the kids drag…. not look in your pants Mr Hirst.
