Just read a book by an ex-Secret Service Agent for the Presidents.  The take home message
was that over the last the 30 years the democrats who were President were the rude, mean,
not caring, and even said Ms. Obama hated white people.  This guy should know as he saw
them as they truly are…HIPO-crits.  Does not surprise me one bit!  Oh yea one more tidbit
President Carter was a big drinker…Surprise!

I would like to know the name of that book.  I’ve read several books by former Secret Service agents
and I don’t recall any of them dishing up that kind of dirt.

One disgruntled ex agent with a political agenda does not make what he writes the truth. I have a
close personal friend who is now retired from the Treasury Department who was in the Secret
Service, he never comments upon the people he protected as he says that it would be an intrution
upon their private lives and would be dishonorable to the service. He says that to be able to fully
protect these people that they must trust you with their lives and a major part of that trust is
privacy. In my book that makes Robert Kessler a dishonorable scumbag who is selling out an oath
for personal gain.

Gators - I have read “In the Presidents Secret Service” but I doubt that you have.  Your information
seems to come not from reading the book but rather falling for nonsense that has been appearing on
the right-wing web.  Let’s put aside the fact that a great deal of the book is un-sourced and look at one
quote on page 223 - “Agents say both Barack Obama - code-names Renegade - and Michelle Obama
- code-named Renaissance - treat them with respect, as does Biden.  “Twice Obama invited agents to
dinner, including a party for a relative, both at his home, ” says an agent who was on his candidate
detail.  Michelle Obama insists that agents call her by her first name.””  And on page 170 - Bill Clinton
“is very friendly to agents” and “does treat the guys really well.”

So to quote you Gators “some people just can’t handle the truth” or in your case some people don’t
know the truth but repeat it anyway.

Kessler is a journalist who has NEVER served in the Secret Service.

“In an article for Newsmax, on March 16, 2008, Kessler incorrectly reported, based on a previous
Newsmax story by a freelance writer, that Senator Barack Obama attended a service at Chicago’s
Trinity United Church of Christ on July 22, 2007, during which Rev. Jeremiah Wright gave a
sermon that blamed world suffering on “white arrogance”.[27] The Obama campaign denied that
Obama had attended the church on the day that sermon was delivered and other reporters
discovered that Obama was in fact in transit to Miami, Florida on that day.[28] Newsmax posted a
clarification while standing by the story, suggesting that perhaps the sermon occurred on a
different day in July.[27] Shortly after the controversy broke, Kessler confirmed to TPM that he
attempted to remove information documenting it from his Wikipedia biography.”

You don’t know truths, you believe debunked racist rightwingnut talking points, aka lies.

Take home message from the book, the democrats were the least liked…you can spin it any
way you want.  As for Rev. Wright we all know his angle…in fact Obama’s were married by
him.  I’m pretty sure Obama told him to zip it….

Gators - you are lying.  Just answer a simple question.  Where in the book does it say that “Ms.
Obama hated white people”?  It doesn’t.  You made that up.  Also you say “over the last the 30 years
the democrats who were President were the rude, mean, not caring”.  There were only two presidents
over the past 30 years who were Democrats - Clinton and Obama.  Kessler states in the book that
both of them were kind and respectful to the Secret Service.  You are a liar.  So who is doing the
spinning?  Get a life.

Amazing how this article started out about Max Baucus’ retiring. Anyway, here’s a description of the
above mentioned book from
Release date: August 3, 2010
Never before has a journalist penetrated the wall of secrecy that surrounds the U.S. Secret Service.
After conducting exclusive interviews with more than one hundred current and former Secret Service
agents, bestselling author and award-winning reporter Ronald Kessler reveals their secrets for the
first time.
Seems credible to me.
