So what? Recruiting happens a lot. This is the first time I ever heard of anyone getting in trouble for it. It’s not like he showers with little boys or anything.

From my point of view…wrestling is not a skill that will help one in life. Maybe get a schlorship to some college…but, I think students would be better off in shop or some skill
like learning to make change at the drive up window.
I realize that some parents are avid wrestling fans of their kids….support is alwasy good.
But the “sport” is not a good way to make $$ in real life.
And with credit for 26 years of being a teacher….the mans salary probably is in the $50,000
range or more…...........so there is money after all.

Whoaa…totally disagree with hotfishmt. I wrestled for five years (in Minnesota, which along with Iowa has a historically strong wrestling heritage), and the discipline I learned 40 years ago has
indeed served me well over my life.
Having said that, it’s not a sport that one can go out and play in a local adult league. And at times I
wished I had played basketball in winter instead. But like anything, what you do with any learning
experience is up to the individual.
The discipline it takes to be a good wrestler does indeed serve one well later in life…those skills of
discipline carry over into academics and into the work force. Discipline is discipline. Too many kids
today have none.
I applaud the decision to bring Coach Davis to Flathead High School. Welcome to Montana, Coach.

I have a child in the Flathead Wrestling program. I am excited about Coach Davis and hisexcited and encouraging attitude. I didn’t know about his history as a wrestling coach or the
suspension, but was very impressed with the email he sent out to parents and wrestlers. He also
called each wrestler personally last weekend to get to know them. He is here to mentor our boys
and encourage them to be the best they can be. I think he will be a great asset to our community.

levelheaded1,Mr.Davis was hired as a wrestling coach only. He will be paid the same amount for this as the
wresting coach at Glacier, I would guess this is somewhere around $6,000 for the year. Head
coaches put in a tremendous amount of hours for what they ate paid. It probably works out to
around $8 per hour.
I for one am glad to see Flathead get a coach of this caliber, and I am not worried about recruiting
issues as Glacier has a top tier program and coach. If any violations occur I know Mr.Dennehy from
Glacier will surely object, as would the coaches from neighboring schools.

Dang, 984-149-4. Looks looks like a great hire for Flathead. Could care less about the fact that he tried to “recruit” a wrestler. Actually, it makes me like him even more.

I think this is great news. I had the chance to have Coach Davis as a Physical Education teacher and Coach for several years. The said Suspension is the result of a family that was out
to ruin The Owatonna wrestling program. Coach Davis is a great Guy who will help bolster your
program. Hopefully he will bring the team to THE CLASH in the next 2 years and get #16 more
wins.

Sometimes it’s team sports that keep kids in school. Growing and learning comes from all cornersof the school.
