Comments on: Obama and GOP Differ Over Recipe for Jobs, Economy
By mitch on 11-26-09
I am very thankful for our wonderful president and the changes he is bringing not only to our country, but also the world. Saw this on a blog and I liked it…...“Wanna do something cool about your government? Stop being so cynical. Forgive Obama and Bush for being Human and most of all enjoy to the utmost the great blessings we still have in these US that no other country shares in the entire world. : The glass is still way more than half… full!” And Happy Thanksgiving to all…......

Obama and the Republicans have political differences? My, my, who would ever have guessed? Fortunately there are some differences. Republicans are selfish, greedy and don’t give a tinker’s dam* about America. They think only they are entitled to rule, and they are totally p.o.ed because they no longer do. The vast majority of Americans gave thanks today that they are out of power, and lots of us added to our Thanksgiving Day blessing the hope that it ever will be so.

Using borrowed money for a band-aid bailout of the economy should seem backwards to most people. However, it likely is a planned strategy to promote radical change.
The assumption that Obama will need the nation to prosper in order to protect the 2010 mid-term election incorrectly assumes that he esteems free markets.
Obama adheres to the Saul Alinksy (Rules for Radicals) method of politics .
Obama and the Strategy of Manufactured Crisis explains Rahm Emanuel’s ominous statement.
Their goal is to overthrow freedom by overwhelming the government bureaucracy with entitlement demands. The created crisis provides the impetus to bring about radical political change.

fcb:
A sampling of some of the ‘manufactured crisis’ on the boards here over the last few months:
Sonja Sotomayor means the end of freedom in this country!
The b.o. regime plan is to kill 210 million Americans…so they can…de-value the dollar..(?)
...and now:
“Their goal is to overthrow freedom by overwhelming the government bureaucracy with entitlement demands.”
Your side has the rest of us “waiting for a lot of other shoes to drop”. (I’ll give you a few more months on the last two examples but the Sotomayor ‘threat’ you’ve lost already.)
Seems it’s YOU who are manufacturing the crisis.

I have little respect for people who do nothing but stand on the sidelines and complain that the president isn’t fixing fast enough the catastrophe that they were cheerleaders in creating.

@emerson - perhaps you can shed some light on what exactly Obama has “fixed”.
By emerson on 11-30-09
The highest unemployment rate in post World War II America was 10.8% - and that occurred 24 months into the Reagan presidency. And yet the GOP likes to say that Reagan “fixed” the Carter economy.
And now, only 10 months into the Obama presidency, the GDP is turning around and job losses are easing.
And yet, the same people who boast about Reagan “fixing” the Carter economy after 36 months, are tapping their toes impatiently and saying “Obama isn’t fixing anything…” after only 10 months.

@emerson - can you provide proof of the “real changes” Obama is making…or are you just getting this from the mainstream media? Back up your assertions with some data - else all you are providing is lip service.
Granted, job loss may be “slowing” now, but the numbers indicate that job loss is still on the rise - and the BLS official unemployment figures (also known as U3 figures) are not a true indication of actual unemployment - just filed claims.
The U6 figures - also an official measure by BLS - also include those who have either given up the job search, are underemployed, etc. That statistic indicates October 2009 unemployment is actually at 17.5 percent.

Emerson,
We ALL stood on the sidelines and watched this happen because we live in a Republic. We expect our elected officials to represent the people who elected them. Members of BOTH parties have failed miserably time and time again.
Oh….wait…..
Those who went out and decided to take out ARM mortages and pay ungodly amounts of money for houses…....
Or those who decided to take out HELOCS for homes that were grossly overvalued…..
I guess they didn’t sit on the sidelines. They helped to create the mess we are in now.

Yep.
We were told “..to go shopping and go see those folks at Disneyland…”
I guess some people were a little TOO patriotic.
