What a wonderful opportunity for Montana to be a part of this historic national election about change.  We all know that Monatna matters and this election matters for Montana’s future.  Be a part of the change you want to see in the world.

After the rally, Obama went out to give a personal hello to the 800 plus spill over crowd who watched the rally on Griz vision while braving the cold weather.  I was inside the Adams Center but also was in the right place at the right time and got to hear him again outside.  I also got to shake his hand…it was an amazing event overall.

So, did he bother to tell the audience what he is going to change and how he is going to do it?  I’m sure he’s a good speaker. But all flash and no substance.

Change for change sake…isn’t always a good thing. I suppose it sounds good if you don’t pay attention to the details and swoon over a good speech.

So, low taxes now will change to higher taxes? Obama won’t renew the Bush tax cuts and have promised to raise taxes on “the rich”. Lower capital gains now changes to a higher taxable rate? Obama said he’d raise it up to 35%. I can chose my own doctor now but that will be changed to government universal health care? How is any of that “change” better?

I don’t like any of the choices for 2008. Obama loses his rock star glow when he’s not reading from a teleprompter, his wife seems to hate America and the whole Rev. Wright issue raises questions to me how this guy plans to unify the country when he and the company he keeps seem to dislike it so much.

Hillary? Who wants the Clintons again in the White House…and McCain was picked early on by Dems crossing over and voting as R and the independents went for him as well in the early primaries.He may as well have a D behind his name the way he votes.

Stats have shown that Senators don’t make the best Presidents because they legislate and pontificate and don’t really know how to run or manage anything…I have to wonder what the Founding Fathers might think about what these folks running for President have planned for the country the next 4 years…

@Julie

Are you actually trying to imply that Hillary has substance?!? I’m trying to choke back my guffaw here.

I’d take The Orator™ and the promise of hope and change any day even if it is naive and possibly false. In the end it doesn’t matter who the figurehead of the nation is because they ultimately have no power anyway. Wish we could vote on who runs the Fed and ExxonMobil etc. etc. They are the ones running this nation.
