bureaucracy to ad to the 20,000 Gun Control Laws that are already on the books! Brilliant!

“The president based his proposals on recommendations from an administration-wide task force
led by Vice President Joe Biden. His plan marks the most comprehensive effort to address gun
violence in more than two-decades.”
administration-wide task force, reads as, ‘extreme liberals’ .
comprehensive effort, reads as, should fix everything, but really does very little other than makes
us feel good.
All for the children. The president needs to pull on our emotions because his reasoning does very
little to fix anything. It has become a war of emotions rather than good common sense and
policies. Good plans do not need a poster child.

I think Richard Feldman, a former NRA lobbyist said today hit the nail square as you can
get:

“If we focus on the gun, we miss the opportunity to zero in on the problem that unifies
us, which is in whose hands are the guns.”

This isn’t a weapon problem (and I say weapon, because “gun” is too narrow),  its a
people problem.  People intent on harming and killing are going to find a weapon.

Overall, I don’t see anything in this proposal that is terribly offensive.  I like most of it.

Before Obama was elected for his first term…in a speech he gave, he talked about the number
of “single mothers” raising their kids alone. It was directed at black or Africian Americans
mothers…whom a large majority have more than one child & raising them alone. That item in
big cities & chronic unemployment among black young’ens is a major reason for the
crime/murder rate in many large cities.
The crime/gun violence in say Chicago is rampant, but so is the large number of black women
that have too many kids with nothing else to do….so gang bangers & shootings are their way of
life.
I wish Obama would address this problem and not ignore the plight of single never married
black women & their problems the kids cause & not put all the blame on guns.

Another family heirloom of single mothers in big cities…is the Grandmothers raise their
daughters kids….this saga has gone on way too long and expect Medicaid to keep this family
of poverty & crime to contiue with free handouts & no future….so shoot em up is the way of the
concrete jungle.

Men get women pregnant.  If we held men responsible for the pregnancies they create, we would
not have unwanted children, abortion and a bunch of idots running around claiming only black
women have out of wedlock children.
Our welfare system promotes this.  I suggest you look at this mostly white commmunity and ask
yourself how many children here are growing up without a father, worthless or otherwise.

Laws against abortion provided a floor to this level of social decay.  Out of respect for the poor the
elites attempted maintain a sense of decorum in the ghetto.  Now they’ve been released on each other
and it spreads upwards to the middle class, who scratch to maintain position but get sucked into
abyss as it spreads outward.  The bottom has totally fallen out.  Slowly they come for our last line of
defense—our arms.  Guess they’re ain’t no such thing as a free lunch.

As expected, the proposals put forth by His Eminence Comrade Obama, Buffoon Joe and the regime
toadies does absolutely nothing to “control” gun violence.  Their purpose is to disarm Americans by
attacking the Constitution’s 2nd Amendment.  They know very well no King’s Decrees (Exec Orders)
will even be seen by the criminals and/or nutcases, much less obeyed.  All of their efforts are to
“control” patriots.

Since December 14, 2012, the NRA has gained 250,000 new members. Why? Because the NRA
is effective and the NRA represents the principles of millions of Americans. The NRA aren’t
politicians rather, they are an organization made up of patriotic Americans who subscribe to the
God-given right of self defense.

thinker stated, “Men get women pregnant.  If we held men responsible for the pregnancies they

I thinker you missed biology 101. I was under the impression that the women were the other half of
the creation process.
I do agree that ‘men’, I prefer the term undocumented father, as no ‘man’ would knock up a woman
and leave the kids w/o a father.
You need to include women in this puzzle. What is woman doing w/an undocumented father to
start w/if she is not willing to raise a child ? She should be busy looking for a man that accepts
responsibilty and marry her to start with. She needs to look outside of the gettho for solutions to
that the problems that the gov’t perpetuates.
The males need to finish school, get a JOB and change their warped cultural ideas that getting
someone/anyone pregnant makes you a man ! Real men have a plan to mary and have a child
and raise it within the family.
All of this refers to blacks, whites, indians, hispanics, you name it. Single parents, male and
female, come from every where. However, the majority are in poverty and add to their myraid of
problems by getting knocked up before they are secure and can provide for themselves.

Gate, its true that there are 20,000 gun laws on the books but how many of those are enforced?
Unfortunately, they are not enforced at all because the ATF and other regulatory agencies have
basically had their nuts cut off.  Not enough manpower, no ability to tell gun dealers that they HAVE
to keep track of their inventories, no real ability to combat any illegal trafficking whatsoever. Dealers
don’t even have a legal obligation to refuse sale to someone who is obviously angry and high on
drugs or alcohol.  I saw a study that said that 56% of all violent crimes done with illegally sold
firearms can be traced back to 1% of all dealers.  But there isn’t any effective way to go after and
prosecute those dealers because they are more protected than any specie on the planet.  Our laws
are so geared towards protecting anyone in the gun trade that common sense has ceased to exist
and thank God our President has put everything at risk to finally step in and add some teeth to
teeth to the system.

I am pro gun but this has gotten outright stupid.  I don’t care if only 1 life is saved by some sort of
increased enforcement; its worth this ugly battle with the crazies.

When Feinstein’s AWB ban expired in 2004 a DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE study noted: ” Should
it be renewed, the ban’s effect on gun violence are likely to be small at best and perhaps too small
for reliable measurement. [Assault weapons] were rarely used in Gun crimes even before the Ban”..
The 2011 data shows that there were 323 murders committed with rifles of any kind. However, gus
defined as “Assault weapons” by the Federal Government were used in less than 0.5% ( one half of
one percent) of all murders with Guns in 2011.

According to demographic and geographic profiles of most violent crimes, the vast majority of
perpetrators who murder with Guns are associated with Gangs and/or Drug Cartels which thrive in
Urban Welfare Plantations. The violent culture spawned on those Plantations is, of course, the
direct result of social and cultural degradation institutionalized by Socialist Democrat Welfare State
Policies.
The simple truth is, is that the Government is unable or unwilling to stop or control the real root
cause of most Gun violence and chooses to illegally crack down on Law Abiding Citizens while the
unlawful purchase of weapons for unlawful purposes will continue.

I am always for guns laws that make sense, not for gun laws that make criminals of law abiding
citizens.  The problem is that existing laws don’t work - for one reason or another.

Some gun dealers do take this to heart - (and some don’t, granted).  I don’t have a problem with
gun laws that hold gun owners accountable for the actions that they take with guns - but I will be
damned if I have my guns confiscated because my name ended up on a “database”, and some
bureaucrat arbitrarily determines that I am a “threat”, when I did nothing to become a “threat” but
own so-called “assault weapons”, which some lawmaker I don’t even know decides that I “don’t
need them”.  Who in the heck are they to say that??

Why is it that none of the disturbed and evil men, who steal guns, then go and kill movie-goers
and children in school, has ever been identified as a conservative NRA member?

Ft Hood~~~ Registered Democrat ~ Muslim

Columbine ~~~ Too young to vote; both families were registered
Democrats and progressive liberals

Virginia Tech ~~~ Wrote hate mail to President Bush and to his staff ~
Registered Democrat

Colorado Theater ~~~ Registered Democrat; staff worker on the Obama
campaign; Occupy Wall Street participant; progressive liberal

Connecticut School Shooter- ~~~ Registered Democrat; hated Christians,

Common thread is that all of these shooters were progressive liberal Democrats.”

mooseberry..I don’t think the gun violence the President and others have been talking about
the past few weeks has ever been restricted to JUST Newtown.. I have heard both the
President and Vice-President mention gun violence generally, especially Chicago. No gun
ownership restriction is going to do anything to stop the violence. You can’t pass enough
legislation to stop the crazies and the gang-bangers. Just like you can’t have a “war on drugs”.
Neither one has been helpful to stop gun violence or drug use.
