Just like Romney, Russ, JB and Gate are still fighting the cold war. All old relics from a bygone
era.
It was a great convention with many incredible speeches, the deversity and strength of the
Democratic Party was on display for the whole world to see.  I was also glad that one of our
political parties showed the thanks and gratitude to our young men and women who are in
harms way.
Also its about time that we Democrats stopped letting the republicans coop our flag and identity
as Americans, I for one will no longer allow them to act as though their ideas solely represent
what it means to be an American.
Freedom of thought and expression of ideas are American values, everyones voice matters
thats what makes our country great. The Democratic Party understands this, the republicans
through their efforts of voter suppression show that they don’t.

Sorry inthemiddle…It was a freak show…But not to worry…Remember, Obama still has the only
vote that will matter;  the “Zombie” vote.  No doubt the dead have already risen from the bowels of
the earth;  and their votes have been cast, counted and stored away in boxes in all the “swing”
States, only to be discovered during the re-count. So take heart inthemiddle.  There is not a single
example in the history of world wide communism where the ruling party lost an election.  Why
should the Obama regime be any different?

There is sure a lot of weird statments about this topic. No matter which party wins the
election…NO MATTER….the one thing this country needs is some COMPRIMISE….plain &
simple.
The days spent bickering & bickering….is a total shame. Regular people are just plain tired of the
squabble & like the other comments list above mine….mindless jargon with one line slams &
dunks….like the endless back to back commercials for Tester & Rehberg…slamming each other
over what ??? Now we get the rush from the mad dash for being President commercials….an not
ONE WORD…ABOUT….COMPRIMISE…. a lost art & method for governing.

Obama at the DNC: That’s it?
  By Jennifer Rubin

It would have been better had he not spoken. Seriously. Like an aging rock star, President
Obama, in a downsized venue, with downsized proposal and spewing downsized rhetoric only
reminded us how far he has fallen from the heady days of 2008. The man, the agenda and the aura
are faint imitations of their 2008 incarnations. And most importantly, he put forth an agenda
that was entirely, and obviously, lacking, one that didn’t begin to match the demands of our time…

hotfishmt said we need to compromise.  Well Obama made sure there would be none of
that his first day in office when he instructed Pelosi and Reid to allow ZERO participation
by the Republicans in Congress on Obamacare.  They were shut out completely, not one
idea, objection, admendment, or any input was ALLOWED.  Then it continued with the
stimulus plan, completely wriitten by the Dems with the door shut to any Rep. input.
How’s that for trying to get compromise.  Better look at who started the divide - Obozo.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder announced the formation today of President Obama’s long
anticipated “Civilian National Security Force” that will be, “Just as strong;  just as powerful;  and
just as well funded” as the U.S. military (Obama 7/22/08).  This force will initially be made up of
volunteers from the New Black Panther Party;  equipped with batons, chains and baseball bats; and
tasked with manning every poling place this November to protect minority’s from intimidation by, in
the words of Holder, “angry white people”.  You see inthemiddle.  I told you that you have nothing to

Got a link to a credible news source to support your claim, Russ?  Of course you don’t.

http://www.factcheck.org/2008/11/obamas-national-security-force/

///////
Similar claims have been circulating in right-leaning blogs and conservative Web sites ever
since July, when Obama made a single reference to a “civilian national security force” in a
campaign speech in Colorado. Obama’s detractors make much of his expansive (and exaggerated)
description of such a force as being “just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded” as
the U.S. military. They also ignore the context.

Obama was not talking about a “security force” with guns or police powers. He was talking
specifically about expanding AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps and the USA Freedom Corps, which is
the volunteer initiative launched by the Bush administration after the attacks of 9/11, and
about increasing the number of trained Foreign Service officers who populate U.S. embassies
overseas.
///////

The full context of Obama’s remarks can be found at the above link.

===quote===
Obama the demigod comes down to Earth

It began, like the Obama presidency itself, with the loftiest of hopes and the greatest of
expectations.
The Democratic National Convention was to have opened here Monday with a festival at the
Charlotte Motor Speedway, where, convention officials said, some 100,000 people would
participate in a Labor Day festival that demonstrated the party’s openness and inclusion.

After a couple of nights at the Time Warner Cable Arena, the convention was to have closed with
President Obama’s acceptance speech at the Bank of America Stadium, where convention officials
were planning to squeeze nearly 6,000 seats onto the field to expand the stadium’s capacity
beyond its usual 74,000.

But the speedway event was canceled — ostensibly because of logistical problems but more likely
because convention fundraising was running low. Then the Democrats canceled the stadium event in
favor of the smaller arena — ostensibly because of “severe thunderstorm” concerns but more
likely because they couldn’t be sure enough people would come to fill the stadium.

In fact, the forecast hadn’t called for severe weather, and conditions were fine Thursday night.
The change caused thousands to be turned away, and the crush of crowds at the arena led
authorities at one point to lock down the building for a second straight night – leaving some
delegates on the street while lobbyists enjoyed the proceedings inside.

It was quite a comedown from that heady night in Denver four years ago when Obama accepted the
nomination in front of about 80,000 at Invesco Field. The candidate, on a stage set resembling a
Greek temple, spoke about remaking the nation and the world.

The demigod turned out to be entirely human, and his results were disappointing. On Thursday
night, as Obama admitted to “failings,” Democrats who dreamed of the biggest and the best in
2008 were learning to accept good enough.

Russ,
Your right wing conspiracy theory of tens of thousands of zombie voters has been discounted by
every major study done on the subject. As a matter of fact in the period 2002 - 2007 there were
only 86 people procecuted for voter fraud by the Federal Government, this is .0007 % of the over
300 million votes cast in that time period. Out of these 86 cases most were found to be ex cons
who thought their voting rights had been restored when they came off probation but were
misinformed or mistaken. Less than 10 of these cases were found to be deliberate attempts by
people to defraud the system. Republican voter suppression laws are as what one commentator
described a “solution looking for a nonexistant problem”
The only voter fraud that is going on is that being done by republicans to suppress the voting rights
of legal American born citizens. This suppression is based on race, education and poverty. Since
all of these groups that are being suppressed tend to vote heavily Democratic, in the twisted anti
freedom mind of the GOP this is how you justify stealing elections. The Democratic party wants
as many legal registered Americans to exercise their God given rights while the Republicans want
to suppress and oppress these people.  What a great bunch of patriots, our founding fathers would
be so proud.

Inthemiddle, voting is a God given right???
Those would be only life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  The pursuit of happiness was
substituted because the British philiosopher John Locke, writing on democracy, originally said the
right was “property” and the Founding Fathers, to get a Constitution signed, decided it sounded too
much like validating slavery, since slaves were treated as property by the slave states.
Those who meet the requirements have a right to vote granted by government and the Constitution.
But they have a greater obligation to be informed and educated on what or whom they are voting
for, instead of blindly buying in to the stuff Joe Biden hands out, while he takes their votes for
granted.  If proof of citizenship and ID was required at the DNC to buy a coffee mug, since it was a
political donation, then the same should be required to vote.  No other country tolerates this
ridiculous nonsense of anonymity of the voter.

What you are actually saying here is that all minorities think alike, which means they cannot think
at all.  It speaks volumes about your superior attitude.

Housing, medical care and everything else someone wants for “FREE”, are not “rights”.  Voting for
something or someone does not make the promise materialize.  O’bama is a case in point.

thinker,
Proof of identification was required at the Democratic National Convention by the United States
Secret Service for protection of the President. I know you right wingers don’t recognize Barack
Obama as President but the majority of Americans do and will reaffirm this on November 6th.
Also the Real ID law was defeated because it was considered by most people to be an
infringement upon their rights as US citizens, but now you want to force this same form of ID onto
the poor and elderly that have no reason to have a drivers licence as they do not drive. Can you
say “doule standard”. If an ID is required prior to voting than it should be a national voter
identification ID card so that way every person is treated equally under the law and there will be no
confusion about the validity of the ID. This ID should also be issued free of charge as to not
discriminate against someone who may not be able to afford one.
One last thing thinker, we will have to differ on what we believe constitutes “God Given Rights”. As
a citizen of the United States we are granted certain unalienable rights, one of these is the freedom
of expression given to us in the First Amendment, the second is the right to vote which is clearly
defined in the Nineteeth Amendment. Since it is my belief that the Constiution was inspired by God
I have to conclude that voting is yes a ” God Given Right” to all citizens of the United States as
outlined in it.
