Comments on: PACs Proliferate in Election Year

Let’s be civil. The Flathead Beacon encourages vigorous discussion and lively debate, but we will delete comments that attack other readers, make accusations we can’t verify, stray too far off topic, criticize local businesses (call them if you have a problem), convict someone of a crime, use profanity or are simply judged to be in bad taste. It is great to know that the GOP candidates for the Montana legislature from the Flathead support oil and gas development, gravel pits, transmission lines, coal mines, coal fired power plants, coalbed methane, ect. in the Flathead Valley.

They all have my vote.

Or are all those good things for the people of eastern Montana?

If you ever doubted that our local legislators are on the take from big corporations—now you cant.

Picture proof.  Corporate shills.  Every single one of them.  It is a real shame.

I corrected the above story because it incorrectly listed the recipients of political contributions from the Glacier PAC as receiving contributions from Montana Conservation Voters. The following legislative candidates received contributions from Glacier PAC: H.D. 3 candidate Mick Holm, H.D. 6 candidate James Scott Wheeler, H.D. 7 candidate Shannon Hanson, H.D. 8 candidate Cheryl Steenson, H.D. 10 candidate Carla Augustad, and S.D. 3 candidate Mark Holston. Montana Conservation Voters has endorsed and contributed to Holms’ campaign. I apologize for the error.

Fun reading, Dan. I went into the FEC website and poked around a little about the Glacier Fund. Rather educational, you betcha.

You know alot of progressive democrats take swings at Max Baucus, calling him a fake republican and what not.

I never realized before that his Glacier PAC gives all that monedy to down-ticket candidates who are actually alot more liberal than he is. Makes me second guess some of my left-leaning friends who slam him so much.
