Aside from the animals needing food, the fire I think can help. With so many fields full of
wind blown garbage & plastic bags…the fire will renew the grasses for sure. I have worked
in the Browing area, and was always appalled at the garbage strewn all over the place.
Burning off the old grass stubble will be all green come April.

What’s missing from this story is how John Clark stayed and not only defended his property from
the flames but some of his neighbors as well.  Sadly, he could not help everyone.  He’s a
Montana hero.
