We had a meeting last month in Lakeside w/county landfill manager and a board member. They act like they care and want ot hear our concerns. Bottom line is that the meeting was nothing
more than lip service so we could voice our side and they walked out acting like they put on the
act of caring.
We even offered to pay more for the servcie in Lakeside, by using school district boundries to tax
us more for trash removal. They wanted nothing to do w/the idea as it would cause them to go
back and redesign the wheel all over. Taxing by school district is not exactly a novelty idea. They
thought it was absurd.

Let’s be honest. It’s hard to listen to the little people when you’ve been licensed by God to “promote
the general welfare.”

It’s time to move toward privatization of the Flathead sanitation services.

It’s time the people unite and go to the Flathead Commoners other wise you will getting run over by these
Bureaucrat’‘s or you will end up paying some of the highest property tax’s in the Flathead valley and getting
less services . Less government Privatize.

Fast, I’d agree with you but I don’t believe it’s a money issue. It’s a control issue. Even if it were privatized they probably still wouldn’t allow the green box sites. This garbage issue is as good an
issue as any to begin flexing some civic muscle. Today the green box sites. Tomorrow the schools.
But I repeat myself.

I made some comments over the opionion poll asked for by the Beacon…but, see they are not listed where the other feelings/thoughts are listed…so here goes for this readers post.
I fail to see the or any logic for removing 2 usable sites, and in doing so it would contribute greatly
to roadside litter…seeing that people in Smith Lake & Marion have to drive futher just to reach the
new green box site at the Ashley Lake site…an turn into & out of dangerous roadway on a nasty
place in US 2.
It only took ONE DRIVE…last year to see the results of one green box site….ROAD SIDE LITTER
ALONG….US 2….was pitiful. Then look at the main dump site on US 93….road litter from
commercial & residential places….ugly litter all days of the year.
Now…dropping to sites means more road side litter an makes it easier to see Beautiful Montana
road side scenery littered with garbage….KEEP THE OLD SITE…and put Purty on litte patrol.

3rd option - drop off the garbage/trash at the county offices.
