Comments on: Reid Indicates Timetable for Health Care May Slip
Let’s be civil. The Flathead Beacon encourages vigorous discussion and lively debate, but we will delete comments that attack other readers, make accusations we can’t verify, stray too far off topic, criticize local businesses (call them if you have a problem), convict someone of a crime, use profanity or are simply judged to be in bad taste. Given the epic ineptitude of this congress, and the Pelosi, Reid, Obama regime, we can hope they trash can the present proposed thievery, and likely unconstitutional, “mandates” and start again with something that might actually be a positive? Nah. no way. More likely they won’t quit until they’re thrown out of office.

Actually, now that both House and Senate bills are published an on the table, it’s entirely prudent and correct to take some time to consider and reconcile both of them correctly to produce a final proposal for the showdown vote. Health care reform is an extremely complex and controversial issue, and the American people deserve the best end product that Congress can produce. Yes, it’s been messy, even ugly, it’s taken far too long, but the process is moving along, and we will all be better off once agreement is reached. In the end, it will be largely a Democratic proposal, but it will be decent, fair and good for us all. Then let the Republicans decide for themselves if they want to remain on the outside as the party of “no.“ I suspect that some of them will get cold feet at that point and vote yes. If they don’t fine. Their votes will give Democratic Congressional candidates in 2010 a wonderful platform to campaign against.

As your taxes skyrocket, and health care becomes frustration mired in endless chaos, we will know who to thank for that. Notice the regime media does not report Republican proposals far less expensive and more efficient. The regime counts on uninformed witless souls to sell their taxes.
