Kudos to Susan and her crew for pulling off the near impossible - operating Safe Havens beyond the grant monies. This service is desperately invaluable for children that deserve to be in a safe, healthy environment while stuck in between a custody dispute.
Safe Havens has developed a child/family friendly atmosphere for families and their services are wholly specific to addressing safety, confidentiality and postive interactions.
The final piece that is offered by Safe Havens that cannot be duplicated elsewhere is the ‘sliding fee scale.’ The Nurturing Center is tireless as a Non-Profit Agency in administering their monies where specified - but also - the community is unaware of how much they also provide ‘free of charge’. A true Non-Profit best describes The Nurturing Center/Safe Havens.
I hope to see the community rise up and give back to an agency that gives so much to the community.

I would have to guess that this problem might not have any effect on the process that causes its necessity in the first place. Anyone who ever needed it or tried to use it might understand why I say this. Everybody else hasn’t a clue.
When witch hunters and bad judges (yes, you, Kitty) conduct phony “investigations” and rubber stamp hearsay, theatrics, and made-up evidence, kids are separated from their families because their parents won’t cooperate in raising their children.
It becomes a control issue and a game that some enjoy playing to win; one can use the system (and the child) to accomplish victory. The child is the real loser.
How do these people sleep at night?
Good luck, folks, holler if you need to know what worked beautifully when we had a little problem many years ago.
