Comments on: Scrambling for Caucus Votes

I haven’t shared my secret hope before, but I will now. There is a famous and VERY popular writer, F. Paul Wilson. Mr. Wilson wrote a novel in 1984 (how prophetic) called “An Enemy of the State” in which he visualized the current state of affairs in America. In his book, there was a utterly pricipled person called Peter LaNague who took on the corrupt establishment and went on to forge an alliance which was the foundation of freedom for humanity for the next thousand years. After I read the book I was heartbroken there was no Peter LaNague for me and mine. I set out to make money using the existing system to keep my family safe. Now some years later I am financially “safe” I guess - I have a million or so in property and a really good job so I won’t starve tomorrow. I feel that Dr. Paul is a REAL Peter LaNague. I think for a living - I write software and critical thinking skills are essential. When I first heard of Dr. Paul I was so MAD!!! I thought he was just a shill for the government - until I started looking through the Federal Register online. He has NEVER (that I can tell) voted against his principles. A rational person does not believe things he has been given evidence do not exist - but Dr. Paul has NEVER given reason to believe he will not do as he says. Please- do yourself a favor - read “An Enemy of the State” and acquaint yourself with the general priciples of sound money. I’m willing to give up my million of real estate to know my children will be secure - why else earn it?

Louis, thank you for that comment. I will buy that book asap! I applaud your principles and adherence to what you also feel is a noble cause. If you have read on the beacon before, I happen to be a very staunch supporter of Ron Paul. There is no candidate that I can recall, running now or in the past, that is more honest, straightforward, and principled on the issues. He has never voted himself a raise in congress in 20 years, gives most of his pay BACK anyway, fights to uphold and protect the constitution, the list can go on and on. I urge all citizens to really pay attention this election. It could be the most important election of our lives. http://www.ronpaul2008.com Please inform yourself. http://www.puppetgov.com/videos.html

I guess a precint person would by default support the candidate of the precinct choice because they themselves are a part of that precinct. It is up to the people and the news (thanks Flathead Beacon) to inform people that these changes took place and if they want a say in this coming election to talk to their precinct chairpersons.

Nah, let’s just do what Montana always does: Vote for the person with “the best chance to win” instead of the person that actually represents Montana values. Contact your precinct representatives and tell them that Mike Huckabee represents everything that Montana wants in their President. www.mikehuckabee.com After all, “Chuck Norris doesn’t endorse, he tells America how it’s gonna be!”
By Joseph Swenson on 12-21-07
@Jay. I hope you were being sarcastic. Huckabee does not represent Montana.
By Sam on 12-21-07
As a Montanan, and an American the most important issues to me are, Ending this lie of a war, restoring Habeus Corpus (repealed by Bush), repealing the Patriot Act, fixing the tax system, stop stealing from social security, audit and oversee the federal reserve system (responsible for the devaluation of YOUR dollar through inflation), protecting our borders, and most of all MY CIVIL RIGHTS! The BEST candidate for all of these and more is RON PAUL. I say look him up at http://www.ronpaul2008.com read the issues and see for yourself. Unless you want America to turn into what is found in these videos: http://www.puppetgov.com/videos.html <—WATCHVote freedom, vote peace, vote liberty and justice in 2008 VOTE RON PAUL!
By THE REAL NUMBERS ARE IN! on 12-21-07
Hey fellow Ron Paul supporters! You must read the latest news on the polls. Here is what just surfaced yesterday. The pollsters insist that polls conducted over the phone are the most scientific way of accurately assessing a candidate’s viability. This statement couldn’t be further from the truth. What it all boils down to in the end is votes. On Caucus and Primary day you cannot phone in your vote and for all the Ron Paul supporters you cannot click your vote either. You must show up in person and cast your ballot live.
The Ron Paul brigade has proven they can vote. Ron Paul wins every single internet poll as well as almost all cell phone text message polls after network debates.
The question media pundits are constantly asking regarding the huge internet voting and fund raising success of Ron Paul is can he translate his tremendous support into Caucus and Primary votes?
Well let’s take a look at what that means. To the media, polls are success. Polls determine who gets the most media coverage. Polls determine who gets endorsed by big names in both politics and from Hollywood.
The Ron Paul supporters have proven online votes and text message votes, but have they proven votes in person, where you actually have to leave your computer or couch and travel somewhere, listen to a bunch of stump speeches then wait in long lines to vote? The only test of that are straw polls. Straw polls are actually a rehearsal for Caucus and Primary day. They are held in almost every state and require a person to travel (sometimes hours away), sit through speeches and stand in lines to vote. Furthermore straw polls are also GOP fund raisers, so in order to vote you often have to pay about $35 to $55.
So now you’re getting to the question the media pundits are asking. The translation to actual votes!
There have already been close to 50 official straw polls throughout the country. There is a website that keeps track of these events and tallies the scores just like the Media and pollsters do. Now remember straw polls are the closest you can get to actual voting. There is no spammers clicking on 50 internet polls per day, there is no phone polling to the miniscule ruminant of the decimated Republican Party. These are real people taking the day off to go and support their candidate. So without further ado here are the results.
Source http://www.usastrawpolls.com
As you can see the candidate with the most number of Straw poll wins is Ron Paul. Also notice that the current break through front runner in the phone polls Mike Huckabee has won only 2 straw polls.
Candidate# Wins
Ron Paul 25
Fred Thompson 24
Mitt Romney 22
Rudy Giuliani 7
John McCain 5
Mike Huckabee 2
Duncan Hunter 2
Alan Keyes 0
Now here is the really shocking statistic of these real life votes. If you look at the total straw polls and average Ron Paul’s polling percentage the same way phone polls are averaged, the percentages of votes for Ron Paul is 33.02%.
Source http://www.ronpaul2008.com/straw-poll-results/
33.02% is the media pundits answer to their question of translation to actual votes.
So if you are were hesitant to throw your endorsement towards Ron Paul because of the Medias assessment of viability, your likely in a genuine position to justify Ron Paul as your candidate.
I say, welcome to the Ron Paul Revolution.

How is it Hijacked if we have a right to be here and there just so happens to be ALOT of Ron Paul supporters? It is a very important discussion, and Ron Paul is VERY MUCH a part of this election. Ron Paul has actually 25% support across the nation, has the most hits on Google, the most hits on his website of any candidate from both parties, and raised the most money in one day of any candidate in history. RON PAUL 2008! Read the issues and know why he is the best candidate for the country and your rights Davis. Ever heard of Habeus Corpus? Yeah…...well its gone my friend. Taken away by W. Bush. How about the Patiot Act, ever read it? I doubt you know everything in it. It is the largest single assault on civil liberties in history. How about sound money, the economy? How about foreign entanglements and police actions not approved by the congress? These are reasons why Ron Paul is gaining momentum and support. Take of the blinders and read. Stop listening to everything you hear on television. Think for yourself. WATCH: http://www.puppetgov.com/videos.html

@JDavis I love it! Ron Paul supporters are excited about a once in a lifetime candidate. A long time ago Revolutionaries spilled their blood on this land so they could do this without fear of retaliation. Isn’t it wonderful? Merry Christmas.

Hillary Clinton and Ron Paul winning big on AOL straw poll Hugo Mann
Published 12/23/2007 - 10:05 p.m. EST
An AOL straw poll that is supposed to be spam proof shows both Hillary Clinton and Ron Paul winning their respective primaries. The poll records national as well as state-by-state results. At the time of this report over 57,000 Republicans and 56,000 Democrats have voted in the poll.
On the Democratic side the results somewhat mirrored media generated polls. Nationally Clinton has 46%, Barack Obama 27%, John Edwards 17%, Biden 4%, Kucinich 3%, Richardson 2%, Gravel 1%, and Dodd 1%.
Clinton leads in most states but Obama leads in Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, and Wyoming.
In Iowa the race is tight where Obama leads with 31% followed by Clinton with 30 n;d Edwards with 24%.
In New Hampshire, Clinton has 46%, Obama 26%, and Edwards has 15%.
On the Republican side the results mirrored media generated polls with one exception. Ron Paul is placing first in most states and second in several others.
The results of the other candidates did mirror media generated polls. Giuliani is winning in New York and New Jersey and Connecticut but is being edged out by Paul in Florida and New Mexico. Florida and New Mexico have changed hands several times between Giuliani and Paul.
Romney is winning Utah, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts.
Huckabee is edging out Paul in South Carolina and is being edged out by Paul in several southern states. Several southern states are virtual ties and have swung back and forth between Huckabee and Paul, including North Carolina, Alabama, and Arkansas.
Nationwide Ron Paul is generating 26% of the vote, Giuliani is getting 18%, Huckabee 17%, and Romney is getting 15%, McCain has 14%, Thompson 9%, and Duncan Hunter has 1%.
In Iowa Ron Paul has 38% of the vote. The rest of the GOP candidates mirror media generated polls regarding strength in the state. Huckabee and Romney are tied at 19%. Thompson has 9%, McCain 7%, and Giuliani 7%, with Hunter at 1%.
In New Hampshire Paul has 30% Romney 23% McCain 20%, Giuliani 15%, Huckabee 8%, Thompson 3%, and Hunter 1%. Once again, aside from Paul the candidates mirror media polls regarding strength nationally and regionally.
Paul supporters have maintained that media generated polls have been under representing his support. Paul leads GOP candidates in 4rth quarter fund raising. He has received donations from an astounding 123,000 donors this quarter.
