Comments on: SD 4: Sonju v. Reckin for Kalispell’s Seat
By inthemiddle on 09-09-10
Sonju is right that the stimulus money was one time money, but that beats no money, which would have been the case without it. Had the federal government not acted there would have been dozens of layoffs of teachers, aids, and tutors in school district 5. Nationwide there would have been a couple hundred thousand educators laid off. When the GOP takes control of the legislature this fall our K-12 schools will take the brunt of the cuts that are made to the states budget. You can bet agriculture and road construction will be spared. If the state would charge the leasors of state school trust land what they should be, education in Montana would be in much better shape financially. There are over 6 million acres of school trust land and unless it is recreational property it leases out for only a few dollars an acre a year. Protect the large ranchers and farmers at the sake of our childrens education, that is the republican way.

“entitled” “controlled use” “mandatory” Listen carefully to the words of someone that wants your vote….R or D
By Roark on 09-09-10
It is this “entitlement” mentality that Reckin is so passionate about which has gotten us into this mess of big government, high taxes, and much less personal liberty. Resp. individuals do not feel “entitled” to what is not theirs.
By Westside2 on 09-09-10
Roark, what you propose is entitlement for the ‘already wealthy’. No thanks. We need some relief for the common people.

It matters not what one’s income may be - plunder by gov’t is plunder.

Parlour tricks, like wearing a baseball cap, are so adolescent. What is this—high school? Reminds me of the white-supremacist Democrat, James K. Vardaman, trying to co-opt the term “redneck” to gain support among white farmers and getting people to wear red handkerchiefs to show support for him.

Schadenfreude~I bet if you show up at the Flathead Democrat Harvest Dinner, you’ll find Mr. Clark there - probably at the head table.
Tazman~
Clark has been known to say, “I vote for the person”. Translation, “I know nothing of Party loyalty.”

Butch Clark thinks he’s a Republican because he has a Rehberg sticker on his truck.
I drank a green beer once on March 17th. It didn’t make me Irish.

Those of us that are truely Irish would never drink a green beer.

tdking;i’m inclined to agree with you. Joe Brenneman has cost us taxpayers more money than any other Commissioner. Did you read the article in the Daily Interlake this week about the County budget - 81.3 million dollars?
When Joe Brenneman took office in 2004, the budget was 49 million dollars - it’s now 81.3 million. WTH? Simple math tells me under Brenneman’s term, that’s an increase of 32 million - and Brenneman claims to be fiscal wizard? Who in the world does he think he’s fooling?
Does Brenneman truly think the voters are stupid enough to vote him into a 2nd term?
Come Nov. 2nd, go to the polls and hand Joe Brenneman his pink slip.

2ifbysea: There are two republicans on the commission, but yall have your tunnel vision target, as partisans. How selective.
By Kalispell Native on 09-15-10
It is also interesting to note how tazman and/or t or c just LOVE hijacking the conversation to their favorite obssessive-compulsive disorder centered target, Brenneman.
Why is he even being discussed in a comment thread involving a news story about a MT Senate race?
I’ll tell you why, neither of them can bother to restrain themselves to stay on any topic except their favorite tag-team target. It’s quite sad to observe.

I’ll tell you what’s truly sad - the idea you expect others to take anything you say seriously - a man of your age still living in his mother’s basement and letting her mix your spaghetti and cut up the meat on your plate.
That sir, is quite sad to observe.

2ifbysea: I will certainly take seriously the cogent rejoinder of a presumptuous old woman.

Congratulations - you can spell cogent.
