Let’s be civil.
The Flathead Beacon encourages vigorous discussion and lively debate, but we will delete comments that attack other readers, make accusations we can’t verify, stray too far off topic, criticize local businesses (call them if you have a problem), accuse someone of a crime, use profanity or are simply judged to be in bad taste. We don’t always have someone moderating comments, so we ask for your help: If you see a comment that violates these ground rules, or you simply deem it offensive, please e-mail webmaster [at] flatheadbeacon.com.

If you can’t hang them, then they’re not people   Vote ” yes ”  to get rid of the cowards hiding behind corporate skirts.
We have enough cowards at the federal level now.

What I find cowardly is the failure tocorrect state what the SC determined.  Nowhere did the
Court base its decision on declaring corporations, “people.”

We’ve discussed this issue ad naseum on other posts.  I-166 is all about popular politics mining
anger rather than addressing a real issue.

The proponents of I-166 have done a masterful job of inciting public hysteria. At issue in I-166 is not
whether corporations are human beings. The salient issue is the removal of all constitutional
protections from corporations. How does a corporation continue to exist if it cannot own property,
enter and enforce contracts, or sue and be sued? Without these rights, corporations cannot exist
and that is a very bad outcome for Montana.

Corporations are not people?  Is the Red Cross people? How about any other group formed for
a common interest? Or better yet, to even the playing field, how about unions??

Easy on the crack pipe there andreab.  You do not have a “right” to drive ever.  You must earn
the privilage by taking tests to show your competence.  I’m guessing that you haven’t shown
any of the neccessary competence for a license yet, based on your alcohol soaked
commentary.

Papa John is correct.

Corporations most certainly ARE people by the simple fact Corporations do not create themselves
rather, they are created BY people. Therefore, Corporations should be treated as people.

I will NOT be voting in favor of I-166.
