Great article! This is a wonderful ministry which is changing the lives of some of these kids! Parents, grandparents teachers & friends are seeing a difference! JD Carabin & Scott (Guff) McGuffie along with other volunteer staff are very dedicated to this purpose as are their wives, Nicci & Kim. Prayers and FINANCIAL assistance is desperately needed to expand for the immediate needs of a larger facility to accomodate Friday SK8 Nights. Check out their website at http://www.seriousjujuskateworks.com or their MySpace site at http://www.myspace.com/seriousjujuskateworks. For further info and contact, emails are: JD— or Scott— . They will be happy to share the vision with you.
God Bless you all!

“People think skaters are just drugs and graffiti,” Odom said. “But we can show them that we can put a good name on skating.”
—-Yeah, goodluck with that.

I think it is GREAT!! Keep up the good work!!!

Where are the safety helmets?
Or, does this mean that your kids are immune to head injury?
By Roark on 04-30-08
It would be nice to see kids put their lives on the road to success and happiness, but one of the last places it is going to change, if at all, is the skating culture.
By Bite Me Roark on 04-30-08
but one of the last places it is going to change, if at all, is the “conservative” culture.
God, lay off the Folgers for a few days, see if your attitude changes.
By Roark on 04-30-08
I don’t drink coffee. I’m not a conservative, I am an objectivist, and it’s attitudes like yours that permeate the vast majority of the skating culture: smugness.
By Tanner Teaff on 04-30-08
Mr. Roger Ball, that is an excellent question. The truth is that because of our growth, the helmets that me and the rest of the volunteers have donated, are being used. But as you can see with the pictures, we have more heads than helmets!
And no, Sir. We are not immune to head injury. I’ve had more concussions with and without helmets than I could express. Thank you for the humor, and I thank you for reading this article!
Mr. Roark, I know you don’t know me, and I don’t know you. But respectively, Sir, all things are possible. I’m not saying I know it all, but I think outside the box. That means changing the infrastructure of the skate world, and showing that not all things are “evil” as you so portray it. Sometimes the way to see is to open your eyes…
For everyone else, thank you for reading this article! I appreciate it greatly, and it puts a smile on my face to know that you all enjoy reading things such as this!
Sincerely,
Tanner

“not all things are “evil” as you so portray it.“
—-Tanner, with all due respect, I never said that. That’s a bold faced lie that you are accusing me of.
By OhRoark on 05-01-08
Objectively, that’s not a bold faced lie.
Are you getting enough ketchup? Listener’s of Prarie Home Companion may know what I mean.
By Tanner on 05-01-08
You are correct, Mr. Roark. You did not say that. However, “... as you so portray it,“ means from the words you spoke. Not literal context… And I never said that I was accusing you, Sir.
By Bill McG on 05-31-08
Tanner… You are SOOOO diplomatic young man! Are you going to run for public office some day? Your contributions to this outreach are just AWESOME! I salute you along with all the rest of the staff as well! Great things are happening! God bless you… SIR!
