Comments on: Spin Doctors vs. the Orchestra Leader
Let’s be civil. The Flathead Beacon encourages vigorous discussion and lively debate, but we will delete comments that attack other readers, make accusations we can’t verify, stray too far off topic, criticize local businesses (call them if you have a problem), convict someone of a crime, use profanity or are simply judged to be in bad taste. We don’t always have someone moderating comments, so we ask for your help: If you see a comment that violates these ground rules, or you simply deem it offensive, please e-mail editor [at] flatheadbeacon.com. The views expressed in the comments section do not reflect those of the Beacon.

Messrs Barkus, Noonan, etc.
Each and every one of you needs to leave the junior high playground behavior behind and start representing the people of Montana like true statesmen.
Statesman: “one who exercises political leadership wisely and without narrow partisanship”, courtesy of Merriam Webster.
Do any of us actually KNOW someone we would consider a statesman?
You guys - every single one of you - were elected to represent all of the people in your districts, as well as serve the interests of those people and the state as a whole.
Not just the Republican people. Not just the Democrat people. Not just the Libertarian or Constitution party people.
Everyone.
You weren’t sent there to cuss at the governor, posture, have little name-calling slap fights with each other in the press, CYA, represent your party first and foremost (if not only), flog each other with 7 syllable words, much less to take actions and speak words that serve only to embarrass your mothers.
Ask around and I’ll bet you find that a lot of Montanans are sick and tired of the juvenile, time-wasting, argumentative, posturing, my party’s way or the highway kind of behavior that you folks have been serving up.
Here’s an idea: How about doing the work of the state that you were sent to Helena to do, as defined by the Montana Constitution and MCA, per the needs and will of all the people in your district?
I can dream, can’t I?

Term limits: a huge mistake in Montana.

Greg Barkus is the living example of why we only let the legislators meet every other year.
Vile, foul mouthed Republicans just don’t know how to cooperate.
You know where to shove it, Greg, we all saw it on TV.
Great example for kids,too.

Fiscal responsibility, eh, Greg?
You probably don’t remember, but you lost me, a first-time investor, money with incredibly bad investment advice. Nice work…
By Censorship Again Today on 06-15-07
The above comment by Bill O’Connell got censored. What happened to the sentence regarding the lawsuit against Barkus, et al? And the sentence regarding amount of money Bill O’Connell lost due to bad advice, like $10k, where did that go???
Too heavy for the fluff oriented Beacon, I guess.

Fiscal responsibility, eh, Greg?
You probably don’t remember, but you lost me, a first-time investor, $15K
with incredibly bad investment advice. And sure, that resulted in a
class-action lawsuit and eventually I got about five of it back. Nice
work…

Kellyn is right.
An “edit comment” feature would be handy. Then I could have done it myself.
