Shame on FWP and the ranchers for deciding that wolves are as disposable as garbage.  Why not come up with a better way to handle the clash between humans, wildlife, and natural predators before everything is extinct. (Like introducing more rabbits to keep the wolves from starving…)

In the natural order of life, wolves have more right to exist here than the “guard dogs” and their owners who invaded these wild lands and the wolves’ territories only a hundred years ago.
You wouldn’t eliminate your neighbor just because you can’t see eye to eye… would you?
What species are going to be wiped out next, in the name of the almighty cattle/sheep industry?  How bout open season on mountain lions, grizzlies, and other “dangerous” animals?  Better yet, why not get rid of all wildlife? That would simplify things forever (however long that will last without any natural order…)
Even deer are now considered public nuisances ~ at least to inhumane people who decide to “control” wildlife in order to live their fantasy lifestyle in the “wild west.”
Shame on you for trying to play God with God’s creatures…

Been reading allot lately, which is different then spending all my time in the woods, as I used too. My question is why is it so hard for some people to see that there are too many wolves? There is just so much earth and just so many places that the wolf can be. When an area is full they disperse into other areas. We do not need wolves in places where they are killing us or our belongings.
When they went to kill off the Mount Cr. pack. (They had another name for it). The first count was 6 or 7. What was the final tole ?  32.  I was witness to two more wolves moving into that same country 3 days later and there has been wolves there ever since. Please allow me to add that it is like the Grizzly bears.  When they have saturated the hills and we have them on the Marion school grounds. THERE ARE TOO MANY

If he was a killer, bet your life on it!!!

Wolves don’t kill just for survival, they are recreational killers. They kill for fun. Many articles report such slaughters. Just one example Google: wolves kill 120 sheep in Dillon.

“Introduce more rabbits to keep wolves from starving”?????  LOL LOL LOL OMG.

Did you seriously type that with a straight face?

The sad part is, you really don’t know why that is so funny.

mtmaui:

I think they’re unspoken point is:

More rabbits would equal more wolves which would only exacerbate the problem in their eyes…and probably would.

Still…

There is also something inherently “funny” about waiting for a certain number of domestic animals to be killed…wiping out the pack responsible…then repeating that process ad-nauseam.  Not much of a solution really.

Wow, just have to comment to that one, mtmaul. So you put wolves in front of people ? I do too, in lets say glacier park or yellow stone. We as people, have the obligation, duty and responsibility to make things in our environment fit for all. Please no extremes. There is a season on all the other predators and they are controlled also thank God. It is not playing God it is survival and that is the true natural order of life. As far as my neighbor goes he if was persuaded to kill me then of course I would be forced to survive.

Exactly! What our tree hugging friend lacks in understanding is the source of the humor.

Let’s add a few million rabbits for the wolves to eat (not so nice to be a bunny). Of course that would cause the wolf count to jump 10,000, who would then not have enough rabbits and so on. Meanwhile the sheep, cattle, elk, etc. will still be targets of recreational slaughters.

We brought back the wrong wolf. The larger Canadian Gray was the wrong wolf to re-introduce.

Well…...lots of various comment on the Wolf situation for sure…..they can travel easily 100 miles in 36 hours. Why not spread the wealth of Wolf information….to other states an let the rabbit people share with them killing dogs….not just protector dogs.

I mean….....there are lots of spaces in California, Oregon, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Texas…...why not put some there in those states so the Northwest does not have to carry the burden of Wolf population recovery. Balance the scales and have other states also give the people in those populated states a first hand look at a Tier #1 preadator.

Sure, there are some Red Wolves & small Gray wolves in some of these states…....but they are not the bigger lets eat Wolves now in Montana, Idaho & Wyoming.

They had Grizzly bears and Wolves in those state too…..lets send some big bears back East also…..fair is fair. Grizzly Bears in Central Park in New York….....would be better than a drug induced mugger…...right.

Buy yourself a big can of Wolf Be Gone, spray around your favorite game wintering range just like magic your local game population will be protected. You can buy this at your local Food for Wolves Program or better known as FWP.
Better yet maybe they could hire the Dog Whisperer to teach those naughty wolves to behave.

Yes, too many people. Whatever happened to ZPG? However, I believe the new health care plan will reduce the abundance of U.S. humans or at least shorten life spans. One day, Soylent Green will be the newest government controlled business.

MTrace, you are showing your age….hahahahha.  But then thats ok, me too.  Ok, figured out what to do with the wolves.  Last nite on Discovery (I think) or one of those, they had a show on “Pig Bombs”.  This is in and around Georgia and the midwest and even California.  They are in 40 states now.  These are not pigs as we know them.  They are destructive, dangerous and wild.  They are a cross between Eurasian hogs and domestic pigs.  If you saw it, it would scare hell outa ya.  They cannot be stopped according to the authorities, they breed like rabbits and run like hell.  Now, my proposal, take all our unwanted wolves (pigs have no fear of anything down in that country) and send them down there.  Pigs run in packs, so do wolves.  I think they need some wolves down there to help out.  Dogs get killed and people are getting attacked.  Its time Montana does something good for the areas that are being torn apart by these things.  Wolves could do that.

Oh and one other thing, anybody got any idea why these things have spread?  And why they were cross bred?  Yup, hunting.  They were captured and shipped to other states for hunting.  The problem is folks, they are proliferate and now THEY ARE THE HUNTERS!  Look it up on discovery..called “Pig Bomb”!!!
