K, I think you need to address that comment to the writer composing for The Christian Science Monitor, that was where this article was pulled from.

It’s gratifying to see that most of the states are realizing that the Washington establishment is no friend to the people.  The fact is that Washington is certainly not being controlled by the people, or even those in power, but by those with an eye for destroying the United States as we know it.  The politicians are merely the puppets, the actors on the stage…and all of these events are meant to distract us from what is really going on.  Obama has lied to the people of the United States from day 1 of his presidential election campaign.  In a few years time, he will be decried as being to blame for the further mess that we will find ourselves in.  Obama, along with those he put in power, will be instrumental in eventually bringing this nation to its knees.

There is no trust in the federal government any more - if there were, why would these states take this kind of action?  You’re right, littlehawk; talking about it is one thing, but for these states to begin seceding from the Union would send a clearer message.  That is one reason why the government is purposely destroying the economy, to force the states to accept “stimulus” funding so that they are dependent on the federal government for their survival, and retain their loyalty to maintain their power base.  Those who support Obama will call me a conspiracy theorist, that I see conspiracy in everything the government does - and they would be right, because I know for a fact that there is a conspiracy going on - to take away what freedom we have left.

from what i understand .texas did turn down the “STIMULOUS MONEY”.maybe texas will once again set an example for the rest of the country.versus new york or california.i encourage obama supporters to go to youtube and watch and RESEARCH the content of THE OBAMA DECEPTION.his supporters should be infuriated,even more than those who opposed him.this jerk has went back on EVERY SINGLE thing that got them to vote for him.i feel their is going to be hell to pay from his future former supporters when they figure out just how much they have been decepted.i am also hoping this will eventually bring us to be more united in the long run.maybe then they will realize how the media and poloticians use the Rs & Ds only too keep us more divided as a people.come on folks. the only way we can stop this is get it “together”.

I hope that this movement eventually succeeds in dismantling the federal government as it has come to be. The only purpose of the federal government is to protect the people from invaders and settle disputes between states. They have NO business making any laws not related to these things. NO business !

I cannot believe that the great freedom-loving State of Montana has not yet joined the list of states declaring sovereignty. Many of us around the country look up to Montana as a “Last Best Place” for freedom and independence. Come on, Montana: show America that there is still a place where freedom is alive and well. Pass your own State sovereignty bill. And, while you’re at it, put some teeth in it. Many people across America are looking very carefully at those states that are willing to “live free.” Lead on!

The weakness of the 10th Amendment movement in the States is that each is narrowly focused on one or two issues, with the exception of Hawaii which seems to be heading toward secession. The Feds will just ignore it.

We need to have legislation that ‘Nullifies’ ALL federal laws that are unconstitutional! And back it up by passing ‘Real Money’ bills that would gradually eliminate the power Washington holds on us through the FED and it’s Fiat (monopoly) money.

I was visiting here for a funeral and have been just floored with all the hateful postings on this site. Everyone talks so negatively about Californian’s, but I do not know of anyone where I’m from that speaks with such hatred as you people. I don’t know why my family likes it here so much and Chuck from Florida, I can’t understand the “Last Best Place” saying, because I find the people here hateful and close-minded.  I do hope others reading this posting do not judge all of the people here by the bloggers. I met some wonderful folks at the funeral who were caring and what I’ve always imagined MT was really like.

The founders of this nation believed in the sovereignty of the states, for it was the very tyranny of a detached and centralized power in Britain of which they “seceded” from in the form of the American Revolution.  Any person opposed to the sovereignty of states is neither a patriot nor an American, but rather a traitorous and naive serf, whose understanding of our republic is warped and tarnished.

Just a couple of headlines out of the many out there as follows:

Already, 9 states: Washington, New Hampshire, Arizona, Montana, Michigan,
Missouri, Oklahoma, California, and Georgia have all introduced bills and resolutions declaring sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment. 12 others: Colorado, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Alaska, Kansas, Alabama, Nevada, Maine, and Illinois are considering such measures. Of course, the citizens of each state would have to ratify the bill, just as they would have to vote to join the Union.

Montana is also claiming the 9th amendment “The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people”.

If you type into yahoo search states declaring 10th amendment you will pull up MASS articles !!!!!  It’s just not really main stream info, dont know why !

Littlehawk very true, very true…......  Did you hear about the 10th amendment rally that took place in Pennsylvania this month ?  Only sites that showed it taking place was Sam Rohere’s (senators) page (name spelling ?) and youtube…..... If not, you should check it out….... It was not covered by the news at all, other states attended as well ! pretty good sized !

The Boston Tea Party was a revolt against the largest company in the world at the time. The east India trading Company.  They were fixing the market for tea putting all the smaller competition out of business.  SO if you want a new “TEA PARTY” go protest WALMART.

You should also TAKE some more History Lessons.And then you would know that the original tea party was not “only"about tea smart one.It was about tyranny.All products ranging from spices to silverware to no jobs.If you knew you HISTORY you would know that several smaller incidents “smaller tea parties” led up to the bigger more historical one in Boston you knew your HISTORY,you would also know that people did not simply just trow tea in the Harbour,they burnt the traders ships ,shops,hung the traders ect.ect   As with your problem with john and family ,I want to know what your problem with getting people to grow gardens ,store food,Buy Real Wealth “Gold and silver”,and getting people to rely on themselves?Instead of government.

I’m glad to see folks are rallying together and deciding against world government and fascism, however, I haven’t been successful getting address/personal information on front men working the power positions like Geithner, Emmanuel, Kissenger, Volker any and all executives working the various branches of the federal reserve bank.  The firm I have previously used to trace individuals refuses to give me info on anyone in sensitive positions.  (someone out their with clearance?)  To look a criminal face to face imho is light years more powerful then gathering up at the town square.  Example, I walk up to Geithner and tell him that continuing to give $29 of every $30 tax payer fiat dollars to his banking buddies in Europe and Asia instead of maintaining infrastructure, helping the homeless or providing universal health care for USA citizens will be “bad for your health mother bucker” would be more effective than standing with a sign “No Bailouts” at the city hall in Kalispell..?  Again, anyone with access, I would appreciate a link.

Bull Rider :  Thank you !  It’s all good…... Some people are just to narrow minded/ or prejudice to step out of their conventional safe guards, and meet the next friend out there !  Welcome to the year 2009 Ronnie, people actually meet other like minded, or friendly people on line via internet services, they also meet on places like myspace, facebook, and I might add have video conversation, and even make phone calls over the internet !
It’s ok I know it can be a little scarey ( Imagine a granny having to preach this).  But alot of what happened in America is we divided ourselves with our differances, you know democrats, republicans, conservative, green, left, right, rich, poor….... It’s a good time to unite under one cause, that we are mostly in the same boat, that we love our country, to realize your not the only one worried, and hey if you make a friend or two along the way…...... How can that be viewed as a bad thing ?
Well thats my two bits….... you can now go ahead and choose to be a recluse, or broden a horizon. and talk to that PUBLIC, general as they may be, they are people, and Montana people at that ( Here I believe that we still call that a neighbor !)

Gee, what will the eastern seaboard think when it sees that they do not run this country?  The majority of this country are not the rich liberals who think just because they have money they can dictate what they want.  The true heart of this country are people who work hard, have integrity, and most of all have common sense.  We are the majority and are tired of being mowed over by those with no integrity.  We are uniting and our strength will bring back what our country is about, not what they think it should be.

I have been disgusted with everything since before the elections and have just become more angry since then.  I have tried finding sites on the internet to see if some sort of coalition was being developed.  It is building, more and more are talking about how angry they are over things that are going on, and they are tired of it.  Good, decent people.  We need a voice and if the local representatives aren’t going to give us what we want, I would dare say we will come up with our own leader who will be our voice.  That is what we need, a person with strength who can stand up to those who have created this mess.  Does that answer your question?
