And then there are those who do have paid sick time and continually abuse it. Who use it to supplement long weekends. Regularly. And then they whine they don’t have sick time when they are sick and come to work & spread it to everyone else.

I hate to say this, but, How American… What an obvious indicator of just how screwed up we are. In many Euopean countries, not only do they enjoy free, excellent health care, but they get tons more time off and live healthier and longer lives. Yes, yes, I know, they pay high tax rates too, but I have to say I think the trade-off might hold considerably more VALUE than here in the US. OUR taxes are going to bail out banks, who then charge us, the taxpayer insane interest rates for credit cards and fees up the poopchute. OUR taxes go to fund research on jello and ketchup and pay for automakers survival to continue to produce sub-standard products we can no longer afford to borrow money to buy.So forgive the rant, I’m just PO’d at our mis-guided, out of whack government when I read that we’re so endebted to our employers that we won’t/can’t take time off to heal and prevent the sickness of others we work with. It’s just so wrong. What have we sunk into???
