“People in power must wield that power with sensibility, empathy and an ability to appreciate other
views. They also must be good sports when they win and when they lose and not let grudges grow
into wars.”  —CNN Reporter

People love to get involved in a messy controversy.  Now that the vote is over, my guess is that the
people of Troy are going to be left with a (even greater) feeling of distrust in their town government.
For me, I see a total void of credibility and integrity and my hope for the future of Troy is dismayed.

I expect a great deal more professional decorum of elected officials, but in this I only see a petty
spat with adults demonstrating the maturity of grade school children.

Okay city councilors, you’ve accomplished your dirty deed, but looky there, you yourselves are now
wearing a great deal of that dirt.  Did you serve the townspeople or just your own egos?

I can’t remember a time when folks we elected to office have been so publicly disingenuous.
They sat in front of an entire room of people and made the same self-serving sounds that we’ve
heard before, in defense of an action that is indefensible!

It’s difficult to know where to begin to unravel the circular arguments and convoluted reasoning that
issued from the lips of city councilors, except to say palpable untruths were unquestionably
interwoven.

@NPDXReporter I think I'll start strategically calling it "pre-lunch" too, and then "forget" to eat my real lunch later. #dessertforlunch
