The NRA leader dismissed efforts to revive the assault weapons ban

If the mentally disturbed young man hadn’t been able to pickup assault weapons from his
mother’s house, there would not have been a tragedy of this magnitude.  In fact, we might not
be hearing anything about it at all.  Homes that don’t contain assault weapons make the public
safer.  As for the NRA ‘might’ what might? That is media spin, nothing more.  Stop believing it!
WE THE PEOPLE ARE THE ‘MIGHT’ - THAT IS WHAT THE CONSTITUTION IS ABOUT - not
special interest groups.  We the People are speaking-up and our elected President is listening.
Get used to it special interest groups - if you truly believe in the Constitution you will rejoice.
This is about PROTECTING THE _FREEDOM_ OF INNOCENT CHILDREN AND THE
PUBLIC.  The idea of an armed guard at the head of the classroom?  Seriously?  What kind of
childhood would that be…  Just use common sense and take the weapons of Mass Murder off
the streets, they have NO place in law abiding citizen’s homes.

We live in a world of extremists.  The NRA wants more guns and no regulation or
control.  Other side want to ban guns.  Neither of those ideas contain much common
sense.  The answer lies somewhere in-between those two extremes.  And personally, I
think we’d be miles ahead if we put more funding into mental health than into things like
paying millions of dollars to “party” and celebrate the RE-inauguration of a sitting
president.

And frankly, the way our government is behaving, it may not be too long before we may
actually need our guns, as the constitution envisioned, to stave off an oppressive
government, or a growing faction of people that would harm, kill and take from us, who
the government cannot protect us from.  That faction of “pirates” essential created and or
incited by the policies of the government.

I’m a life time member of the NRA. But something is wrong when your neighbor’s five year old kid come over to our
house to show us his dad’s loaded 357 magnum and no parent in site. Of course the sheriff was called but the
neighbor was at a lost why. At some point we are going to take action to pertect the kids from the irresponsible
environments that many are born into. THERE NEEDS TO BE A TEST FOR PEOPLE BEFORE THEY BLESS THE
WORLD WITH THERE PRODIGES.

Gate/JB - exactly right.  Question - What do you suppose would be the ‘accuracy factor” of people
“voluntarily” reporting their weapons?  and how many?  Ya might want to stock up on ammo.

I agree with the NRA 100%, you can’t comprimise with far left marxist liberals that want to take
away our 2nd Amendment rights.  Once you begin to comprimise, shortly thereafter, you find all
your rights are gone!
