It did not take too long for GE Credit to see the writing on the walls. Seeing that Vann’s attempted to market Outdoor Goods on line….which is/was a feeble step for sure.
Just 20 minutes ago…came by the Evergreen Vann’s Store…and they are having a blowout sale
on the grass near the road. That seems a drastic step….but, one has to do what one has too. First
time I have seen anything close to a sidewalk sale at Vann’s.
SO GO GET EM…..AND LEAVE SOME $$$$.

Crap! If they go out the only thing left is the big box stores. My wife and I did our whole kitchen with appliances from Lowes. When things broke we found out that there service repair people we’re not well trained and it took forever
to get anything fixed. Then we found Vanns and found that they really had better service.

If Van’s could just find a way to develop a new energy system powered by bumble bee farts, that should be good for a $500,000,000.00 line of credit from the Obama administration.
By RIGHTOFCENTER on 07-27-12 @ 12:43 pm
Yea, even if all those farts don’t even create one megawatt of power. They could take the $500,000,000.00 to the bank and go bankrupt and then be appointed as Obama’s Energy Czar and
claim they tried to save us from fossil fuel addiction. Notice with liberals it not the results that
count, but the good intentions.

Another empty building set to grace kalispells growing vacancy epidemic.

Well, yea, but you forgot the plan to tear out the rr tracks and put in high density retail. See, if you build it, they will come, from some place else, leaving more vacant buildings in their wake. Wonder
if KMart will be next.
By brokenbutcher on 07-29-12 @ 12:05 pm
Of course if you build it they will come. And then poof… they will be gone. As soon as theperverbial “shiney keys have been shook in the babys face”, the interest will die… Kmart?...
maybe, Shopko is only open because of their pharmacy or they would be next along with super ones
store put in at old Tidymans Location.. There is only so many pieces of the pie in town.

Wirth Lowe’s & Home Depot selling home appliances & other things…they draw customers who might have shopped at Vann’s.
Add in Ole China Wally World Wal-Mart…the competition is really tuff and add in the cost of
living….people buy cheap as they can find.
Computers, washers & dryers, freezers people head out to the crazy drivers all around the big
box stores. Look at Jennifer Hegan at Sleep City, all the stores she has closed selling Ashley
Furniture….sit empty and expanded too fast with a sinking economy nationwide. So….Vann’s
needs to make SERVICE…..the most important selling point.
3 weeks ago….I saw one of the big box stores….deliver a washer & dryer to a customer….and
they installed the dryer vent hose…..WRONG. They did the cut & run as quick as possible from 2
young delivery men…..they put a loop in the dryer exhaust hose…..a big NO NO. The loop is just a
fire waiting to happen.

When I needed a stacked washer/dryer apartment sized unit, Vann’s was the only place in town that had one on hand. They did, however, charge like it was the last one in town. They
also did not have time to deliver it and they didn’t even help me load it into my truck. Not so
good on the customer service side. I couldn’t care less if they live or die.

We bought a Jennair stove from Vann’s and although I rarely use the oven, the heating element burned out three times. The first two times their service guy claimed I was abusing the oven.
The third time I called my own service guy who said Jennair has a parts problem, which was pretty
obvious. I had never had an oven element burn out before. And they don’t carry parts.
I never dealt with them again.
