“The truth is that computer modeling, consensus of scientists or theory is not scientific
evidence.” The truth is, it’s hard to cram so much misinformation, religious rhetoric and bad
science in such a short piece. Ask the poor folks in the midwest ten years of global cooling.
Even the deniers have dropped that argument like a hot potato.

A quick response to State Senator Verdell Jackson’s letter about climate change.

1) Mr. Jackson asserts “there is no replicable (verify by reproduction) scientific evidence that human-
caused carbon dioxide emissions cause climate change. It doesn’t exist.”  I can’t tell you whether
he’s lying on purpose, or whether he simply has no clue about the science, but he is 100% wrong.
As the experts at the U.S. National Academy of Sciences have stated, “Climate change is occurring,
is very likely caused primarily by the emission of greenhouse gases from human activities, and
poses significant risks for a range of human and natural systems.”

2) Mr. Jackson also wrote: “the earth has been cooling for the last 10 years, contrary to the
alarmist’s models.”  Once again, he is 100% wrong.  The earth has not been cooling. The last
decade was the warmest on record.  In addition, 2010 was the warmest year ever recorded.  And for
Mr. Jackson to tell us that we’re “cooling” after we’ve just set thousands of new high temperature
records here in the USA, and as Americans fight deadly heat and forest fires, is simply inexcusable.

3) Mr. Jackson likes to quote the Bible.  Unfortunately, he forgot to share Revelation 11:18, which
tells us, “And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they
should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the
saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the
earth.”  You may find it a little strange that Mr. Jackson neglected to tell us that God will “destroy
them which destroy the earth.”  I certainly can’t explain it.

4) Mr. Jackson’s position is immoral and un-American.  He, like other climate doves, seems to
worship at the alter of former British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, who tried to appease Hitler
rather than confront him prior to WWII.  It’s shocking that a member of the Montana legislature would
ignore explicit warnings from our National Academy of Sciences, turn his back on the Bible, and then
do his best to prevent America from addressing the looming threat of global warming.  Mr. Jackson is
deliberately putting our country, our state and our children, at risk.  He should apologize for his letter
and resign his position as a State Senator immediately.

Wow, thanks Todd. I was a little hesitant to state the obvious quite so strongly, but I think
you hit it out of the park. We have every right to expect our representatives to lead on
important issues and not attempt to mislead, confuse and deny proven science. You certainly have
my vote for your last sentence.

While we are growing peaches and grapes,  in the Flathead,  and following the good science from
Montana State Agriculture and The University; you l are reading the bible for comments on today’s
climate?  We have one planet.  Think about the industry and cars& trucks spewing their waste into
the atmosphere.  Do you really want to believe we have no effect?  Advocate carbon waste into the
atmosphere, and get asthma!  Advocate filthy water and all life forms struggle.  Fool with our one
and only planet and get consequences.  How can the privilege to pollute be turned into a
conservative value?  Conservatives are supposed to keep things as they are.  What about the
Bible’s garden of Eden?  How about that kind of climate and scene for a value?  Let’s build the
garden of Eden and forget about finding excuses and helping industry pollute our air and water.
Ask a farmer, if you want know any real science about climate change.

Is there a single global warming nut that doesn’t also believe in worldwide abortion, worldwide
wealth distribution, worldwide destruction of advanced culture through top down multicult
indoctrination, worldwide sexual perversion and worldwide general ascension of communist
hegemony?

I didn’t think so.  So please forgive us, the ignorant, for just saying no.

It is truly appalling that a state senator could write such ignorant claptrap. Todd said it all, but I
would add a couple of comments:
1. The heat trapping effects of carbon dioxide are easily verifiable and have been established
scientific fact for many, many years.
2. “From the north (comes) the cold.” Senator, did you know there is a southern hemisphere
where that is not true?
3. “Carbon dioxide is essential to plant growth”. Congratulations, a true statement! But try
breathing pure carbon dioxide for 10 minutes and then tell me that it’s a harmless gas.

* If we dump sewage in our water and trash in our streets, God doesn’t clean it up for us.
* If we don’t bathe our bodies and wash our clothes, God doesn’t remove our stench.
* If we don’t take responsibility for all the atmosphere-heating pollution we are pumping into the
air we breath, not even God will be able to help us.  It is a basic responsibility to take care of
the beautiful planet we are blessed to live on.

And if we present generation after generation of free American children to be educated by their
Government, they will accept global tyranny like Pavlov’s dog.

If we don’t take care to protect the beautiful innocence that we are born with, control freaks with putrid
psychopathic ideation will happily take it from us.  Not even God will help us then.

Content from the National Geographic Global Warming Fact Sheet:

The report, based on the work of some 2,500 scientists in more than 130 countries, concluded
that humans have caused all or most of the current planetary warming. Human-caused global
warming is often called anthropogenic climate change.
• Industrialization, deforestation, and pollution have greatly increased atmospheric
concentrations of water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide, all greenhouse
gases that help trap heat near Earth’s surface. (See an interactive feature on how global
warming works.)
• Humans are pouring carbon dioxide into the atmosphere much faster than plants and oceans
can absorb it.
• These gases persist in the atmosphere for years, meaning that even if such emissions were
eliminated today, it would not immediately stop global warming.
• Some experts point out that natural cycles in Earth’s orbit can alter the planet’s exposure to
sunlight, which may explain the current trend. Earth has indeed experienced warming and
cooling cycles roughly every hundred thousand years due to these orbital shifts, but such
changes have occurred over the span of several centuries. Today’s changes have taken place
over the past hundred years or less.

The header statement, “We do not Control Climate” is absolutely correct.  And we never will.

That being said we do impact weather both directly and indirectly, such as through cloud
seeding, planting trees, and building mega cities.

As for the “consensus” view of things, it’s funny how science keeps advancing with new
discoveries:  http://www.uni-mainz.de/eng/15491.php

Climate in northern Europe reconstructed for the past 2,000 years: Cooling trend calculated
precisely for the first time
Calculations prepared by Mainz scientists will also influence the way current climate change is
perceived / Publication of results in Nature Climate Change

09.07.2012
An international team including scientists from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU) has
published a reconstruction of the climate in northern Europe over the last 2,000 years based on
the information provided by tree-rings. Professor Dr. Jan Esper’s group at the Institute of
Geography at JGU used tree-ring density measurements from sub-fossil pine trees originating from
Finnish Lapland to produce a reconstruction reaching back to 138 BC. In so doing, the
researchers have been able for the first time to precisely demonstrate that the long-term trend
over the past two millennia has been towards climatic cooling. “We found that previous estimates
of historical temperatures during the Roman era and the Middle Ages were too low,” says Esper.
“Such findings are also significant with regard to climate policy, as they will influence the
way today’s climate changes are seen in context of historical warm periods.” The new study has
been published in the journal Nature Climate Change.

Being published in Nature Climate Change requires peer review.  The ball keep bouncing inspite
of agendas that don’t conform to science.

Global Warming: for ONE….too many people & too few birth control methods. Geeze, only 7
some Billion an getting more each second. The footprint BILLIONS of poor, ignorant, grubby, rich,
educated….all ADD UP TO A HUGE MOUNTAIN OF PEOPLE…..just alone passing Methane is a
lot of warming.
One only needs to look at pictures of India, Sri Lanka, Banglihidesh (sp), China etc….and see
horads of people using cow manaure for fire wood. The systems in place to handle masses of
people….are failing.
Look at Haiti….over run with scads of poor people, way too many mouths to feed or care for…and
yet KEEP HAVING MORE.. We can’t save the world in one week or one month….but, putting the
brakes on with some meaningful birth control like the Gate Foundation is FINALLY DOING THIS
WEEK.
Too many families have more kids just to pickup cow manaure for the evening meal heat
source…and name some country in Africa that does not have some kind of
war/famine/trouble…each week.
Some of these countries are like a island of rats….soon over populated and disease & famine set
in….as no quality of life…..other than breed & look for handouts.
Half of the people in India have cell phones….and yet 75% of the people don’t even have a pottie.
The masses of people standing around for anything in India….is totally mind blowing…..doing
nothing….except maybe making more babies.

OK, so let’s say that we are the problem.  We are causing global warming/climate change.  Well
the regime must direct that only electric cars, produced with no use of fossil fuels, or mined metals,
or air polluting HC’s are produced.  (good luck).  OK, maybe they’ll just mandate that we must
purchase cars/trucks capable of 50 mpg.  We must have homes that are solar heated.  We must
get our power via wind turbines.  Oh wait, the environmentalists filed suit over the murderous bird-
chopping blades and ugly power lines.  (darn).  All of our manufacturing/food producing efforts must
not impact the Earth in any way that might disturb the birds or bears or cute little bunnies.  hmmm.
OK, so get your solar heated, wind-powered mud huts built before winter folks.  (Ever notice how the
“true believers”  all live in caves and have no cars or TVs?)

Instead of repeating here the full ten yards concerning the basic science of climate change, I
encourage you, Senator Jackson, to have a look at the “short course” I recently made and placed
on my website: ericgrimsrud.com.  Brace yourself, however, the sciences points in one direction
and always has. This perhaps explains why most Republicans do not want to learn the science.
How about being the exception, Senator Jackson. Let me know via its feedback mechanism of any
questions you might have.
Sincerely,  Eric Grimsrud, Kalispell

OK, OK,  Humanity is killing our planet.  We need about 5 billion folks to get off, discontinue use of all
machines and/or power requiring technology.  We also need to have some common sense laws.  Now,
there’s the problem.

What makes me shake my head in disbelief is Sen. Jackson’s biblical quotes, if this nonsense
was real why isin’t it taught in schools and universities, if you go to college to study meteorology
they sure aren’t going to teach you that god loads the clouds with moisture to release his lighting,
or that god blows upon the rivers and the widest torrents freeze. As it seems like the time is
comming for humanity to start to see the reality in things, i.e. that our very existense is more than
likely going to lead to our demise, it’s also time to accept the fact that the existence of a god or
god’s is a delusion. Once we have put all religion worldwide behind us, only then can we move on
to preserving our exsitence, and the odds of that are the same as us saving ourselves
