Comments on: Whitefish Gives Nod to Chickens

When the chickens get loose and they will, will Bill Wilson be charged with the task of rounding them up? Will they have identification so we can return them? Will there be a fine system typical to escaped dogs? From my office I see loose dogs every so often. I’m sure the chickens will roam the streets too. When a deer is hit in the road there is often a big blood stain to mark the spot, now we’ll have big puffs of feathers that drift around town in the wind. This will surely draw the attention of Colonel Sanders. I’m sure we’ll soon have a KFC. One good thing about loose chickens in Whitefish, this will surely keep us from becoming the next Aspen. Best Council move yet.

Dogs are a much bigger nuisance in my opinion. They are everywhere in Whitefish running loose and making noise and getting into garbage. Sure a hen or two may escape every so often from negligent owners, but those same annoying dogs, who also got loose from negligent owners, will no doubt make short order of the hens. Symbiosis at it’s best.

Chickens and dogs will never have a symbiotic relationship. The chickens will offer themselves and their eggs. What will the dogs offer. On Fridays the Heuterites will bring live chickens.

Will the sky fall more often in Whitefish now that there will be more chickens ?
