Who is paying for Charlie Harball’s trip to Washington, D.C.?  The Knights of Columbus?  Or is
this on the city of Kalispell’s dime?  At this time with problems in the city and no permanent
city manager, with Harball acting as city attorney AND city manager, is this really a wise use
of Harball’s time?

I would like to thank Harball for going and standing up for something that means so much to
many of our Flathead Valley residents.  I checked and NO the city is not paying for his trip.

As an atheist and avid skier, I want to give my support to keeping the Jesus statue on Big
Mountain. I don’t feel that it should be removed and don’t have an issue with it being on “
public land”. The attack on Christians and Christianity is now considered acceptable yet if it
was any other religion being attacked it would be called ” hate speech” or intolerant.
Christianity is an important part of Western Culture and our traditional American way of life
and should be protected.

April, thank you very much for comment and support for the statute.  You are a refreshing voice
of common sense and balanced perspective.

Careful who you ally yourself with Craig.  April (Gaede) isn’t as pure as the driven snow she
says skis upon.  She is a well-known local racist and white supremacist.

If you do Google her (and I recommend people do so) make sure to watch the BBC documentary about
her Dad and her upbringing.

I admire most of your comments, bo, but that one wasn’t necessary. She commented on the statue
and you set off the lights and sirens about her, personally.

It’s good the city isn’t footing the bill for his flight and hotel.  Did Harball take vacation
to go testify, or is the city paying his - now increased - salary for his time in Washington, D.C.?

She is what she is as she tries to ingratiate herself as acceptable. Camel and the tent and all
that.

Ahem.  Just to set the record straight ...the statue is “claimed” to be a memorial statue.  9
out of 10 “reasonable men”, when shown a picture of the statue will identify it as a “religious”
statue, not a veterans memorial.

and…Ahem…the statue’s future literal future “remains” uncertain.
As difficult as that may be for some to grasp, be rest assured the statue’s symbolic future is
not on trial.

Westside2, your “reasonable men” being reasonable would probably require to know the history
behind the war memorial dedicated to the 10th Mountain Division for their efforts in WWII. They
would also request to know why this statue was meaningful to the vets that selected it, created
it, and placed it on a mountain.  That’s called context.  It’s both very easy to find and
understand with “reasonable” effort by “reasonable men.”

A question from someone who has never seen the statue in question:  Is there anything on it that
identifies it as “Jesus”, or is it just a statue of a man in robes, who everyone “knows” is
Jesus?  If it doesn’t say who it is, then it could just as well be John Doe from Caesarea, and
no one has a reason to object to it.  If it does have a name, then I would think the land swap
would be a win for all sides, at no cost to anyone.

*Westside* could I ask are these *reasonable men* from the area or are they visitors to it, who as
I would have no idea about it being there till it was in the paper. There are many things in each
state that no one knows about until someone mentions it or it is in the paper for some reason.

As a *reasonable man,*Westside have you ever looked up the history of the 10th Mountain? I
know a lot of its history.

As a daughter , niece, sister ,cousin, and aunt to many who served their country I don’t care if it
was a metal stake put there to honor the men who severed, if it helped (s) those who saw what
WAR was about to heal it is worth being where ever they put it. State or privet land.  It harms no
one but those who do not believe in religion and feel they have the right to tell the rest of us we
HAVE to live by their rule of not showing anything that may show some do. Since we live in a
country of democracy I would say if as said in this paper more people want it then don’t the case
should be closed as the people have spoken.

Big Mountain, as it used to be known, had nothing whatever to do with the creation or
training of the 10th Mountain Division.  That occurred at Fort Carson, CO, and the region
around Vail is regarded as the center of activity and memory for the many fine soldiers
who served in it.  If there is a place where a memorial to the 10th should be, it is at Vail,
certainly not Whitefish.

Thank you so much Denny Rehberg for standing up for the vast majority of citizens who are
Christians in Montana!  Your efforts on our behalf are greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I read the original story wrong I would like to apologizes, but I thought I read that the two men
spoken to did their training at Fort Drum home of the 10th Mountain.

I do stand by my remark of it should stay; it has done no harm in all these years and other then
getting a few over heated it has done no harm now.
