Big Mountain once again stubs its toes on the locals…what the heck are you doing? I guess this means SCREW all the numerous LOCAL people who hike the mountain all the time during the summer and have always had a FREE lift ride down. Let’s charge them $6/ride OR they can pay $100 for the summer for something that has ALWAYS been free. Frickin’ idiots! The tourists bring in the $$ for this mountain and those are the main people who pay for the services. Oh, and also, we’re trying to add ‘more value’ to the mountain so let’s CLOSE THE LIFTS AT 5PM EVERY DAY SINCE IT GETS DARK AT 10PM!!!! My Gosh, we have got a bunch of baffoons running BIG MOUNTAIN. Your marketing tactics suck for the local community.

We used to spend about $100 each summer taking our guests up to the Big Mountain.

If they don’t want our business they can just shove it.

The Whitefish Mountain people broke their contract last winter so they believe they can do it again this summer.

Great job of micromanagement by megalomania!

We, too, *used to* take a lot of visitors up the mountain, who paid for their tickets.  But, like Shove It, we’ll find something else to show them.

The dumb moves by the mountain management just keep stacking up, like the cars in a train wreck.  Come on, people, pull your heads out of your collective rear!  You’re alienating the best sales force you have, the locals who show visitors the mountain and what it has to offer.

Thank you to prior Bigmtn management for permitting free lift rides down the mountain.  I, like many others, cherish hiking the mountain and my aging joints frequently appreciate a lift down.  I realize we are fortunate to live in a wonderful area and the bigmtn is a business; nonetheless I am saddened at the loss of free rides down.  This news was a surprise as I was told by a bigmtn representative three weeks ago that the free ride down policy would remain as in the past.  I was happy to learn we would still have free rides down and it was difficult to learn they changed their minds recently.  Ultimately, hiking the Danny On and riding the chair down (4 free) is simply another memory to be explored in the future when locals remember “the good’ol days”.

Thank you for all the free rides in the past, I really appreciated each one and, now that it is taken away, realize the generosity and care of previous management for the gift.

“This news was a surprise as I was told by a bigmtn representative three weeks ago that the free ride down policy would remain as in the past. “

The management tells you what they believe you want to hear, then they do exactly as they please.

These people are just thieves, crooked as they come.

Hey Donnie Clapp- you have a big job ahead of you trying to explain this one. This is a ridiculous change in policy and I am astonished that you are not allowing the passholders from this past year to be grandfathered in. We all assumed when purchasing our passes that as in year’s past, we would be able to also come up during the summer. You should be ashamed of yourselves for setting a policy like this and making it effective for this summer. You’ve already lost respect from the locals- is this just another dig at us?

I understand how businesses need profits to operate, however I’m going to guess that this little move of yours will only make your profits go down. No longer will I ever come up there during the summer to enjoy a cocktail at the summit.
