Comments on: Whitefish Senator Stepping Down
Let’s be civil. The Flathead Beacon encourages vigorous discussion and lively debate, but we will delete comments that attack other readers, make accusations we can’t verify, stray too far off topic, criticize local businesses (call them if you have a problem), convict someone of a crime, use profanity or are simply judged to be in bad taste. There is a ray of hope for Montana and the MT. Senate. Mr. Weinberg has by far been one of the biggest liberals in the Senate (examine his voting record). He has done much to undermine economic and personal liberty In Montana due to the bills he has sponsored and co-sponsored as a Senator. If you are a lover of liberty, freedom, personal responsibility, and reason, then you can rejoice, like I am, at the Senator’s retirement.

While I agree that Sen. Weinberg did not have the best voting record with the Montana Chamber of Commerce, I also feel that the Montana Legislature has lost a man of integrity. I worked with Sen. Weinberg on a variety of issues and found him to be honest, intelligent, and a good politician - in the best sense of the word. I hope the next Senator from Whitefish will uphold those values . . . and agree more on business and economic issues, of course!

Webb… I agree… but that extends to pretty much ALL politics in general! The entire system is based on who you know and who you need to make happy anymore… on both sides. Very few politicians CAN be honest, whether or not they want to be. You can’t make everyone happy, yet it seems like they have to make someone happy, so why not get the most out of your vote, right? To see someone go into politics and be successful as an honest person, is one in a million. Very rarely does it happen, and it is only getting worse.

How wonderful it has been to know someone was looking out for our children and other vulnerable populations. This is a loss for Montana however I understand his reasons for going. I know whatever he does he will continue to be a voice for the vulnerable.

Before you go Dan, please help Barry Beach. Barry Beach has been wrongfully imprisoned for over 25 years. You can see his story at http://www.montanansforjustice.com. This is a travesty - the saddest story to ever come out of the state. FREE BARRY BEACH!
