This is awesome. We’ve added this deal to our homepage to make sure all of our season pass holders are aware of it.

Hi Donnie,

Why can’t you discuss the fact that you closed the Big Mountain early every afternoon and made up absurd reasons for doing so?

Why did you offer refunds to some passholders?  Do you finally realise that you broke a contract?  Will all passholders be offered this refund, or just the ones you like?

You forced skiers and riders onto the hard frozen slopes one hour early due to the time change, then closed early when the snow just started to soften.

The map you gave our guests claimed that the lower lifts were to stay open until 4:30PM, but you changed the policy mid-winter and cheated everyone out of precious ski time.

We even saw folks climbing up the trails to get to their “ski in / out”  accommodations.

Night skiing was a joke, there was no food to be purchased, but the bar was open.  Great for the kids, eh?

I cannot remember such mis-management in the 34 years I’ve been associated with the Big Mountain.

Get a grip bud, you’re driving away business which the local establishments have developed over the past 60 years.

Oh Donnie…
To think that Turner and Blacktail would still be skiing while The Big is closed….oh the shame of it….AND to trumpet their deals on your website…how the mighty have fallen.  Don’t give us that hoary old permit story..you know that’s a negotiable item.  You pay the MAN and you can stay open longer…it’s a rental agreement dude….............

Maybe Homer and Ted and Steve and the other minor handful of ignorant, incessant local whiners work the lifts themselves for a few days to let the rest of us enjoy some extra runs. I’m in! Best season in 10+ years and these few local nutballs actually think they can justify any complaints at all? Crazy man! Why don’t you diaper filling cry babys move to Intrawest country and then come crying back to us wishing you would have been nicer to the Whitefish community. Be gone heretics! Your sour seed is no longer wanted here! Let the rest of us be happy and remember this epic season. Go away.

Why don’t you just pay the help more so they can afford to live here?  Then you won’t be so pissed off when you have to do the work yourself.

Donnie, if you had bothered to stay home for the ski season instead of visiting Detroit and then New Hampshire, we would not be discussing your incompetance.

Grow up.

i’m with doh on this one… epic riding this year… nothing to complain about… snow was endless… can’t blame bigmtn for no local workers (every local business is having a hard time finding workers)... can’t blame bigmtn for how expensive whitefish is to live (blame the government)... anyway… hope we get 400+ next year too

every town has those few haters that won’t be happy no matter what… sad people… get happy or get out…

Does this mean that Foley is going to sell his shares to Intrawest?  This would be apt punishment for those dirty locals.  (They only built the place, remember?)  Happy 60th.
As for the “incessant whiners” that should be operating the lifts, who’s getting paid here to blow smoke up our skirts, Donnie?  You priced yourselves out of employees and blame it on a “few local nutballs”.
Great season, no one disputes that.  We just wanted to enjoy it, but your management, especially cheating skiers out of time every single day, plus being unable to understand the consequences of the early DST clock change made it very difficult for some.
Everything these wealthy parasites touch turns to dung.

I have skiied at Big Mountain since 1957.  Just three tows back then:  T-bar, Poma, and Rope-tow.  Recent changes to the mountain are underwhelming.  The frequent breakdowns of the main chair, the rerouting of chair 2 that leads skiiers into congested traffic at the bottom, the loss of the cafeteria below the beginners chair are some of those issues.  Big Mountain management cannot be given credit for the incredible snow, but they can be judged on the product they provided for the cost of the ticket.  I’m sure the opinions are varied.

Homer’s never been accused of being whiney…beery yes….How much of an increase in the season pass price do you think is acceptable?  I’m guessing it’s going to be 40%.

If that’s true…a big woo-hooo…but why haven’t they released that information yet and why does the site have it?

The website production staff called the diddly-danged ticket office and confirmed the price last week.  You may reach the ticket office at 862-2900.  It will appear on the corporate website pretty diddly-darn soon, neighborino.
Runs through September 30th

We skied last day and now are in South Carolina in the sun…The year on Big was fantastic. The new lifts are machines that require adjusting. Every employee I saw this season was friendly. The value sound. The new road faster and safer. All around fun. It would be nice to get a summer gift and have the mountain open in june for a weekend like 15 years ago. I am happy we have these local ski areas…All of them. Without them I would not live in this part of the west.
So cheer up lil local buckaroos things could be a lot worse…
